David Frum’s Got It Wrong Again (NewsReal Blog) – by David Horowitz

West

Why is David Frum pretending that the Obama administration is less radical than it is? Just because an intellectual featherweight like Cornel West is unhappy with Obama’s steady march towards capitulation abroad and socialism at home doesn’t mean that this isn’t the most radical presidency in American history or that the Administration (and Congress) aren’t crawling with Afro-Marxists (and just plain Marxists). David can’t even get his facts straight. It was Cornel West and the Harvard Left that fired Summers — not the other way around. Summers was on his knees, begging West to stay, a fact that pulls the rug from under Frum’s whole argument.

    thank you again David Horowitz.

It is apologist conservatives that do the most harm to conservatism. They believe the same doctrine that obama does …if we are nice to them they will be nice back.

That and that they keep other conservatives from seeing the real damage the liberals are inflicting by downplaying or giving them moral equivilance. Frum does more damage then good …funny considering that is his (Frum's) argument against others.

Cornel West is ugly and his momma dresses him funny.

    More seriously, perhaps?

Professor West represents the worst tendencies of both American academic life and those in “power” who capitulate in fear before him. He is less a “scholar” than an arsonist, which makes him eminently qualified to be a good friend of Rev. Al Sharpton — which he is, in fact.

Cornel West is a racist and openly advocates racism. Racism is the lowest, most crudely primitive form of collectivism. It is the notion of ascribing moral, social or political significance to a man's genetic lineage — the notion that a man's intellectual and characterological traits are produced and transmitted by his internal body chemistry. Which means, in practice, that a man is to be judged, not by his own character and actions, but by the characters and actions of a collective of ancestors.

Racism claims that the content of a man's mind (not his cognitive apparatus, but its content) is inherited; that a man's convictions, values and character are determined before he is born, by physical forces beyond his control. This is the caveman's version of the doctrine of innate ideas — or of inherited knowledge — which has been thoroughly refuted by philosophy and science. Racism is a doctrine of, by and for brutes. It is a barnyard or stock-farm version of collectivism, appropriate to a mentality that differentiates between various breeds of anmials, but not between animals and men.

Historically, racism has always risen or fallen with the rise or fall of collectivism. Collectivism holds that the individual has no rights, that his life and work belong to the group (to “society,” to the tribe, the state, the nation) and that the group may sacrifice him at its own whim to its own interests. The only way to implement a doctrine of that kind is by means of brute force — and statism has always been the poltical corollary of collectivism.

David Frum must spend too much time with liberals who tell him:

“David, you re a great guy. Intelligent compassionate and sincere. If all conservatives would be like you, all of America would vote for them. But as things stand, with crazy freaks like Palin and Coulter, republicans don't stand a chance.
    Purge them please !!…”

So David goes on and does what he is told as his ego is easier to fool than his intellect. Thus he becomes the tool for emasculating conservatism.
