Fort Hood Attack Was Terrorism – By Dick Morris

APTOPIX Mideast Bahrain US Military

In his nationally televised remarks following the horrendous killings at Ft. Hood, President Obama never mentioned the T word. The attack was an act “of violence.” No mention of terrorism.

In fact, the Ft. Hood shooting is the first terror attack on American soil since 9-11. But Obama, reluctant to take the rap for inadequate protections against such attacks, is doing everything he can to make it look like an adult version of the Columbine school shootings. We are treated to stories about the killer’s dread of being sent back to Afghanistan and his deformed personality.

But, the fact is that Major Nidal Malik Hasan jumped on a table, yelled “Alah Hu Akhbar” and began the shooting rampage that killed 13 people and wounded 30 more.

Ilana Freedman, CEO and Senior Analyst for the Gerard Group International, which provides intelligence analysis for business and homeland security, describes Hasan as a “lone wolf terrorist” who acts without apparent coordination with any other person or organization. But that does not make him any less of a terrorist.

The dividing line, of course, between a terrorist and a psychopathic killer is political motivation. His statements right before opening fire would indicate that Hasan was motivated by fanaticism and a commitment to Islamic fascism, even though President Obama bends over backwards to avoid saying so.

Obama’s refusal to call the attack terrorism, and to heed the warning signs about the porous nature of our security system that allowed it to happen on a military base, recalls President Clinton’s deliberate decision to downplay the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center. He did not visit the site of the attack and treated it as a crime, promising to find those guilty and punish them, rather than to attack the international groups that funded and enabled them.

There may be no groups behind Major Hasan’s attack, but the fact that he was an officer in the Army, with full access to a military base and its arsenal of weapons, while holding the views he did, is the first indication of a laxity in security under President Obama. This attack did not take place in a shopping mall or a school, where security procedures are, understandably, relaxed. It happened on the highest security place of all – a military base! That the military failed to spot the possibility of an attack and had no measures in place to prevent it must be laid at the feet of the commander-in-chief of that military: President Barack Obama.

Many commentators have warned that the diminution of security and the weakening of our anti-terrorist protections would leave us vulnerable to be hit again. Now it has happened. And the president is doing everything he can to blur the distinction between murder and terrorism.

It was his failure to understand the difference between an act of war and a crime that undermined President Clinton’s administration’s anti-terror efforts and led directly to 9-11. It would appear that President Obama is going down the same road of denial and minimization of political harm. There may be casualties at Ft. Hood, but Obama is determined that his popularity will not be among them.

Being involved in Quality control for goods and services used in the Defence services, the correct procedure now would be to Quarantine ALL Muslim defence personel (Stand them down till further notice to carry out risk assessment) including civilians working in the Dept of Defence and its Suppliers of critical componants and parts.
When “defective Goods” are detected and deemed high risk and detrimental to the functioning of the Defence Forces they are recalled immediately, quarantined for whatever length of time necessary to investigate the reasons for failure, implimentation of recommendations and systems put into place to ensure this NEVER happens again. Imagine a Muslim Air Force pilot, and what he could do???? Well we have already seen the possibilities on 9-11.

If the US DoD does not apply its quality procedures that it does have in place to remove the risk that has been identified in the last few days then it is negligent in its duty of care to its personel & assets and breaches basic OH&S laws.
I do feel that beneath the covers of the Military much covert investigation will be carried out to ensure an incident like this will not happen again.
In Australia we just thwarted a similar incident of a Jihadist threat to one of our major Military bases through vigouros investigation with no fear or favour and arrest of the jihadists just before they were going to carry out the terrorist act. In the US it seems that your Law makers dont care if these people go ahead with the crime.

How do we determine a perpetrators motivation or intent?

By taking a non-PC look at the hard facts, just like Inspector Harry Callahan did:

“Mayor: (condescendingly) How did you establish intent? Harry: Well, when I see a naked man chasing a woman down an ally with a butcher's knife and a hard on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross. (Quoted from “Dirty Harry, 1971”).

One man's terrorist is Fox TV “analysts” freedom fighter. The killing of medical doctors who perform legal abortions is terrorism and/or fanaticism.

There are at least two extremist camps in this country right now that are determined to tear this nation apart by their words, and some by their actions. We do not all have to agree on everything in order to be a community or a nation. We do have to respect each other enough to realize our differences are important to the other and try to work them out.

If all we are willing to do is shout and shoot at each other then the killing will only continue because what is done to you will be done to me by your family, friends and associates. What is done to me will be done to you by my family, friends and associates.

Until the time when we realize all people are sacred to God, no matter how they refer to that Greater Power, then we are still ranked among the animals and will not have reached the potential God has had in store for us as humans since our creation on this planet or in this universe.

Clinton got rewarded by Saudi Arabia among other Arab countries, for his “never calling the 1993 attack” for what it was…He gets millions upon millions from these terror supporting countries….9/11 happened because of Clintons mandates upon the FBI…the people directed to protect us have their hands cuffed by absurd rules and regulations to be PC and not be able to use profiling…example of this Ft. Hood Muslim…of course we cannot find em all using this method, but once again the Government failed us…the signs were there….but even the military cannot rid itself of the PC police…

    Dear Mr. Morris,
You are sop right that this is terrorism but I also feel that this is the result of one thing…POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. If the army had used common sense and not political correctness, this man would have been tagged as a possible threat a long time ago. He had been exhibiting may signs of inappropriate and impropriatiy long before this terror act.
Here is the point for us to notice. Once again we have clear evidence of the destructive nature of “political correctness” and its obvious consequences.
Is there more evidence needed other than 13 murdered and 29 wounded???
Thank you Mr. Dick Morris for all your other great and insightful, excellent views into the nature of events and not just in the rehashing of those events.

This stuff is unbelievable and calls for action like the edge of a cutting knife….but alas that American is afraid to respond for fear of “over-reacting”. Personally? Each and every Muslim in the armed forces should be suspended today. We need to place spies in each an every Mosque in this country…as soon as one imam or member says anything about jihad…. they are shut down and the mosque gets bull-dozed.

The Administration may seize this as their opportunity to take away civil rights from law-abiding citizens, instead of going after Muslim terrorists. As we found out recently, the Administration does not consider Muslim terrorists as being the enemy. The ones considered enemies are loyal, law abiding Americans – returning military, tea party attendees, pro-lifers, etc. These twisted beliefs make it a piece of cake for Muslim terror attacks to be carried out in this country.

U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.

Hasan maintained contact with a radical mosque leader from Virginia, Anwar al Awlaki, who now lives in Yemen and runs a web site that promotes jihad around the world against the U.S.

In a blog posting early Monday titled “Nidal Hassan Did the Right Thing,” Awlaki calls Hasan a “hero” and a “man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people.”

According to his site, Awlaki served as an imam in Denver, San Diego and Falls Church, Virginia.

The Associated Press reported Sunday that Major Hasan attended the Falls Church mosque when Awlaki was there,

U.S. Airport Security DELIBERATELY and Shockingly Destroyed for Islam:

    Controversial Muslim group
    gets VIP airport security tour
Feds show CAIR latest screening steps,
    sensitive counterterrorism procedures
    August 18, 2006

    The Department of Homeland Security
took a Muslim group with known past ties to terror organizations on a VIP tour of security operations at the nation's busiest airport at the same time British authorities were working to break up a plot to blow up U.S. airlines.

On June 21, a senior DHS official from Washington personally guided Muslim officials from the Council on American-Islamic Relations on a behind-the-scenes tour of Customs screening operations at O'Hare International Airport in response to CAIR complaints that Muslim travelers were being unfairly delayed as they entered the U.S. from abroad.

CAIR is a spin-off of the Islamic Association for Palestine, identified by two former FBI counterterrorism chiefs as a “front group” for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

Several CAIR leaders have been convicted on terror-related charges.

During the airport tour, CAIR was taken on a walk through the point-of-entry, Customs stations, secondary screening and interview rooms. In addition, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents were asked to describe for CAIR representatives various features of the high-risk passenger lookout system.

    Linda,
After 9-11, it was written in our papers that your FBI, CIA, DHS and all these other Government agencies were more interested in the implimentation of Affirmative Action Policies, Sexual Discrimination Policies, Gender issues, Safety issues, and other workplace laws favouring minorities, women and people with disabilities (where some of this is fine) rather than working to uncover terrorist plots and importantly sharing intelligence amongst agencies.
I heard on the radio this morning that the CIA or FBI knew about Maj. Hasan's contact with Al Quaida representatives in the USA months before but they FAILED to contact his employer the ARMY! The notion that Hasan was suffering from PTSD has been taken off the airwaves over here the last 24 hours as more juicy evidence becomes uncovered.
9-11 has not taught you people in the US anything. Us Aussies with 20 million people (tax base of 4 million) are able to prevent what the US with all its money and resources. We have spies in every mosque. Phone taps on every imams or Islamic leaders cellphone, home phone and computer. Our spies/investigators know how to speak Arabic for instance better than the perpertrators themselves. How do you think we stopped a fort Hood happening here a few months ago?? It seems like a global movement to atack the military on home soil. Our Government knows that if a Fort Hood happened here then the backlash against these people would be massive. Look up the Sydney Cronulla Riots on YT for instance which was a small skurmish and a taste of what is too come. Americans in my view are not united to prevent nor cure this disease that you have over there.

  • andrew37

No, this most certainly is not “the first terror attack on American soil since 9-11.” There have been over a dozen such attacks, starting (in my opinion) with the crash of American 587, but they are always reported as “isolated incidents.” I've been keeping track of them on a web page:

Although I agree with Mr. Morris's point, there have been plenty of Islamic terror attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11: the Army recruiters in Arkansas, car attacks in S.F. and N.C., the Salt Lake City mall shooter, and many others. Experts call it “Lone Jihad Syndrome.”

"Until the time when we realize all people are sacred to God, no matter how they refer to that Greater Power, then we are still ranked among the animals and will not have reached the potential God has had in store for us as humans since our creation on this planet or in this universe."are you really serious? do you really think that if we lay down our arms and say "i'm sorry all you muslims, we were wrong, but now we love you" they are going to start tearing up and hug us? allow me to clue you in on something. they hate us. for whatever reason, be it one from the crusades, or because their religion demands that they subjugate the world in the glory of allah, they hate us. maybe not all of them, but enough of them do to scare the rest into following them, or at least allowing them to control things.they don't stop attacking because someone else is stronger. they just attack in a different way, to achieve their goal of a muslim world. the road to hell is paved with good intentions…in this case, political correctness will be our downfall. our hell will be the choice of submitting to islam, or fighting it.

  • FriendForLife

Thank you 'superllama' for giving my thoughts your time and thoughts.

“are you serious?” is a good question. There are few who would suggest as you say “that if we lay down our arms…” and apologize..the Muslims will “start tearing up and hug us…” other than say, Jesus, Muhammad or a few others.

Some of us say we are Christian, but Jesus would likely ask “What is this Christianity you speak of ?” because he would not recognize much of what some say and do in his name.

Your “clue” is correct in that some in fact do “hate us”, however it is not the “they” you and so many others are so obsessed with to make it easier for us to hate “them”. If you read the military intelligence, and have listened to the political rhetoric of the last eight years, you will know that we are not fighting a nation OR a religion. It is a few extremists who have sucked us into this forever war that we nor they will ever win by shooting, bombing, assassinating and maiming each other for generations to come. They think they have no way of dealing with a nation such as ours, much like you or I feel in terms of dealing with the Federal government in solving issues which face us here.

So they are stuck in the frame of mind that the only way to be heard is through violence. And we are unfortunately still no further in too many ways.

If nothing else should convince you of this, the facts that the British Empire and the nation of Russia could NOT bring resolve by these methods and we, the most powerful nation to ever exist militarily have been at it FOR EIGHT YEARS. Longer than WWII or Viet Nam. And there are ALL KINDS OF EXCUSE swords we can fall on. NONE of them solve the conflict. They merely EXTEND it to your children and grandchildren.

Is that what you want for your family? I doubt it.

You have given all the reasons anyone would have in their culture for generations a reason to hate this nation . “the crusades” is only a beginning point for this nation to continue the economic plunder of the greed we have for consuming everything in sight.

You have given the reason our military strength is not working. It only inspires the terrorists to be more deviously creative.

You may think your road to hell is paved with good intentions, but all of the spiritual wisdom of the ages says that we have created our own hell on earth with the “eye for and eye” philosophy. Thankfully, some have learned and taught better ways to solve conflict. It is up to us to grow up and learn and teach those ways instead of continuing to teach killing someone actually solves a problem, even if the other has not yet learned it.

Thanks again for your time and patience to ask questions rather than dismiss. Best wishes on your journey.

[T]he fact that he was an officer in the Army, with full access to a military base and its arsenal of weapons, while holding the views he did, is the first indication of a laxity in security under President Obama.
He is a psychiatrist, not a combat soldier. He had no access to any 'arsenal”.

This also shows the civilian's unrealistic view of the military. There is virtually no one carrying weapons and live ammo at the base outside of the civilian police and those on the training ranges. The rest of the time weapons are secured and ammo even more so.

There are probably more armed people on the streets of Dallas than there are on Ft Hood.

All this has been pointed out by anthonymendoza earlier

And there’s a problem right there. Looks like the military is the one with the unrealistic view. Other people have asked the question: Why don’t the solders have guns?
(That’s a rhetorical question. Liberalism strikes again.)

mohamed would suggest peace? this is my whole point. if we take his peace, we are to take his religion. will you do this, and have the extremists run your life? how do you feel about honor killings? those are done by every-day muslims, not just extremists. how do you feel about female genital mutilation, so they cannot enjoy sex, but are still able to have babies? how do you feel about stoning women to death who are accused of adultery? what about women who are raped? in that religion, it's all her fault. these are all things sanctioned by imams and the koran. while the old testament might allow, even encourage, some horrible things, we don't do them anymore. they still do.

is this what you want, for your family?

you say we should all learn and grow and teach. well, that's all fine by me, but what if they don't want to be taught? what if they think their way is better? are you going to force them to learn? or force us to accept their way of life for the sake of peace? how is this going to take place? will we all suddenly realize we were wrong to worship one god or another, and have a sing-a-long by the fire?

you talk of excuse swords to fall on. many would say that christianity has some of the same faults that islam does. however, we live in a country that allows us to worship however we wish. can you do that in most muslim countries? i can give you a list of the countries where it's illegal to be christian, if you like. even a few news stories about how christians are treated in muslim countries, where it is allowed. they'll shock you, i promise.

it's all fine and well to criticize a country or a religion where you have such freedom to do so, but just try that in the middle east.

if you truly believe that we can all get along if we just learn better, when are you going to the middle east to explain to them why they should ignore their religion, ignore the koran, and why they should stop suicide bombings? i promise, i'll be the first to send flowers.

some things need to be called what they are, evil. my religion and the usa might not be perfect, but i don't force people to join it. at what point will you admit that while philosophy is a wonderful thing, there are practical problems we need to face?

“Thankfully, some have learned and taught better ways to solve conflict. It is up to us to grow up and learn and teach those ways instead of continuing to teach killing someone actually solves a problem, even if the other has not yet learned it”

how many teachers is it going to take? when are you going to become a missionary for whatever religion you subscribe to and go out among the masses, spreading the good word that we don't have to have wars anymore? when the poo hits the fan, will you be in tehran, telling an angry crowd they are wrong? or will you be here, in the usa, where you won't be attacked for saying it, telling us we are wrong?

do you just feel this is right for you to say, that we should all be buddies? or do you have the conviction to be a martyr for your cause? or do you hope to convince others to do it for you?

as for your comments about the government, they have overstepped their bounds. they have trampled upon the state's rights, and ours also. they have tossed the constitution out the window. thankfully, i live in a nation where it's perfectly legal to say that.
