For Bigots, Israel Can Do No Right

As most objective observers throughout the world marvel at Israel ’s efficiency and generosity in leading the medical aid efforts in Haiti , some bigots insist on using these efforts as an occasion to continue their attack on the Jewish state.  Both the neo-Nazi hard right and the neo-Stalinist hard left cannot help but to demonize Israel, regardless of what Israel does.

The neo-Nazi website features a blog entitled The Zionization of Disaster Relief. It accuses Israel of “exploiting the suffering of poor, defenseless Haitians on behalf of Israeli Triumphalism.”  It complains that Israel is rendering medical aid to Haiti only to deflect attention from its crimes against the Palestinians.

The hard left, even in a Israel , complains that Israel should not be sending medical assistance to such a faraway place.  Instead it should be sending it to nearby Gaza .

Even the New York Times, in an otherwise thoughtful analysis of the controversiality of the aid among some Israelis, failed to note the difference between Israel sending its limited resources to faraway Haiti and to nearby Gaza.  Haiti is not at war with Israel .  Haiti has not pledged itself to Israel ’s destruction.  Haiti has not fired 8,000 rockets at Israeli civilians.  Gaza , on the other hand, has a popularly elected government that has done and continues to do all of the above.  Moreover, there is no comparison between the tens of thousands of Haitians who have died from a natural disaster, and the people of Gaza who suffer far less from what is, essentially, a self-inflicted wound.

Nor do the perennial enemies of Israel emphasize the comparison between tiny and resource-poor Israel , on the one hand, and the enormous and resource-rich Arab and Muslim nations, on the other hand.  While Israel digs deeply into its treasury and manpower to send medical assistance a quarter of the way around the world, Arab and Muslim nations are generally missing in action when it comes to relief efforts.  This is true not only in Haiti , which is a Catholic nation, but it was equally true when tsunamis and other natural disasters have devastated Muslim nations.

For those who argue that Israel is sending this aid to Haiti for its own selfish reasons, there are two answers.  First the realpolitik answer:  All nations have interests; and all act, at least in part, out of self interest.  When the United States government is asked by Americans to justify its multibillion dollar foreign aid grants, it generally responds by arguing that these grants are serving the interests of the United States .  When it comes to Israel , however, a double standard is always applied.  Israel must act only out of altruistic motives, while all other countries are entitled to leven altruism with self interest.  The second answer is that Israel is doing far more in Haiti than would be required to satisfy its self interests.  It is sending more aid per capita than any country in the world.  It is doing it with extraordinary efficiency and real impact.  Isn’t it at least possible that the millennia-long Jewish tradition of tzadakah—that is charity based on justice—is at least part of the explanation for Israel ’s generosity?

The fact that so many Israelis are advocating medical and other assistance to Gaza , certainly supports this latter theory.  Has any other country in the history of the world ever provided medical and other assistance to a people with whom it is at war—to people who continue to support rocket attacks and other forms of terrorism against its own civilians?  Again, a double standard.  The reality is that Israel will be extremely generous to the people of Gaza if and when they stop supporting attacks on Israeli civilians, stop making martyrs of their suicide murders, and stop encouraging their children to don suicide vests.  Contrast Gaza with the West Bank , which today has an improving economy, better travel conditions and among the best health care available in any Arab or Muslim country in the area.  The peace dividend the Palestinian people will reap from making peace with Israel is incalculable.

So continue to criticize Israel when it fails to live up to generally applicable international standards, but praise it when it exceeds those standards in rendering aid that has saved and will continue to save many lives.  Israel will continue to send disaster relief regardless of how the world reacts to it because Israelis understand how it feels to be subject to disasters.  But fairness requires that Israel not be condemned for its humanitarian efforts, and that its rendering of aid to Haiti not be used as yet another occasion for applying a double standard to its actions.

Shalom Israel ! May YHWH loves and protect Israel from all harm. If Israel is harmed, just look out for the wrath of god on the aggressors….. Nazi Germany tasted it in 1945, jew hating Indonesia tasted it first hand during Tsunami 2004, Idiotic anti – semitic pakistan is tasting mindless bloodbaths everyday…..the list goes on and on. Mess with Israel, god will mess you up !

    • trickyblain

"(J)ew hating Indonesia tasted it first hand during Tsunami 2004"

Nice to see we have the Jewish Pat Robertson on board FPM. Such astute oberservation of world events! So, was 9/11 God's retribution for homosexuals, like the corpse Rev. Falwell claimed? Was Katrina God's retribution for anit-semitism among blacks?

  • Dave

That's pretty disgusting, anti-Semitism is on the rise and it stinks.

  • Swemson

"The hard left, even in a Israel , complains that Israel should not be sending medical assistance to such a faraway place. Instead it should be sending it to nearby Gaza."

In Gaza the Israeli doctors would need military body guards to protect them from being attacked by the same people they'd be trying to help.

  • marge

The racist, nazi, Israeli Jews and their supporters like Alan M. Dershowitz are the most bigoted people in the world. It is laughable they would call others bigots when they are the ones trying to silence anyone voicing a legitimate criticism of Israel with terms like Jew hater, antisemite, Zionist -hater, Hitler, and all kind of crap. Truth is, Israeli Jews and their supporters have a victim mentality and a sense of entitlement and being above the law. They are convinced Israeli Jews have a right to do whatever they want and should not be criticized for it. Alan M. Dershowitz uses his power in the academic field to silence and get anyone fired from his position that criticized Israel or support Palestinian human rights. He also advocated, like the Israeli Rabbis, the right of Israeli Jews to kill Palestinian children because they are all terrorists. These people are unbelieveable.

    • Ellie Light

The Dersh has widely been discredited in the culture of intellectualism for his hypocritical stance on free speech ("If you criticize Israel in any way, you're a bigot, anti-semite, you're Stalin-esque, or neo-Nazi, etc.") and his defense of Israel as it commits war crimes, defecates on the Geneva Conventions, and commits a US-taxpayer funded, slow-motion genocide of the indigenous Palestinian population. The Dersh is probably losing sleep over the fact that Israel — as a nation — must be a law-abiding participant in the world community, and Operation Cast Lead — which incinerated 1,400 innocent civilians with flesh-melting white phosphorous weapons and limb-shearing DIME cube bombs — demonstrated that it targeted the civilian population under a variation of the Dahiya Doctrine. Yeah, okay, Israel-firsters — go ahead and call this post anti-Semitic . . . because you can't defend the IDF's conduct on the cold hard facts.

      • PAthena

Ellie Light utters so many falsehoods it is hard to know how to begin. I will comment only on the claim that Israel is committing "slow-motion genocide of the indigenous Palestinian population." The "indigenous population," whatever that means, is that of the Jews, which have lived in the land of Israel since the days of Abraham, almost 4000 years. The "Palestinians" you refer to are Arabs who acquired the name "Palestinian" by Soviet propaganda, when the Soviet Union and Nasser in Egypt founded the "Palestine Liberation Organization." "Palestine" had been synonymous with "land of the Jews" or the Holy Land"and "Palestinian" with "Jew" since the Roman Emperor Hadrian, in 135 A.D., after defeating the last Jewish rebellion under Bar Kochba, changed the name of Judea to Palestina and outlawed Judaism in order to forever eradicate all memory of the land of the Jews and of Jews.

      • hyde

Ellie Light? Hmm, the same EL named by WorldNetDaily only yesterday as peppering remarks all over the place and claiming to be from different States?

    • Stephen D.

Marge, you’re right. No Israeli citizen should be able to defend themselves from rocket launches into their civlian homes, schools, etc. . Good point! How dare they think that someone that launches rockets and calls for their destruction is an enemy of theirs. They are the bigots. Right? You are LAUGHABLE!!

    • Rifleman

Lol, is that a knock on your door? You make the Israelis sound just like 'palestinians.' If that were the case Gaza would be an Israeli resort town, and there wouldn't be any 'palestinians' around to object. Idiot.

    • Stephen_Brady

I take it that you don't like the Jews?

    • Kakins

God, you're a sick and deluded woman.

    • House Divided

Marge you are so right in your analysis of Dershowitz and his protagonists. It is P R and propaganda to soften Israel's carnage of Gaza and Lebanon . About Dershowitz and the other zionists, I would like to reiterate what Lincoln said," That a House Divided can not Stand." You can not serve two masters or nations without betraying one for the other. Teddy Roosevelt said it best,"There can be no divded allegiance here…. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag , the American Flag….. and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people…" The Zionists and dual citizen holders need to declare that loyalty to America, but we consistently see their loyalties reiterated and it is always ISRAEL

It’s a mistake to label neo-Nazis as far right! They are also far left! Just watch Glen Beck’s documentary live free or die!

    • trickyblain

Yes, neo-Nazis are pro-Civil Rights, large/centralized gov't supporters who believe in same-sex marriage, communism, one-world gov't and intellectualism.

Glen Beck probably left that out.

      • Stephen_Brady

That's why they are called "Neo"-Nazis. "Neo" means "new", just in case you didn't know.

Over the course of my life, I've never noticed that the far left has any love for civil rights, so the neo-nazis fit in well, there. A neo-nazi is an ideological first cousin to a communist, and I've never detected any opposition to one-world government, among them (as long as they run the government, of course).

Intellectualism? Isn't that a euphemism for being closed-minded. As in, closing one's mind to anything that doesn't fit into the Marxist worldview?

  • Abraham Stubenhaus

How typical, anticipated and predictable are your rubber stamped remarks. Thank God the majority of us are not self destructive in mad rush to show off for the enemy how open minded we are.
Have you ever demonstrated against the the horrible factual reality of what the "Palestinians" have to our land since they stole it from us by moving in and annexing it to eventually twist things so, that they now complain WE have taken it from THEM?
Of courrse you haven't. Your glasses read only current events, no real history. 3,460 years ago, it was Pharoh and the Egyptians who refused to eat at the same table the Hebrews ate at.
Hatred was alive and well against us long before people learned to say words like Islam and Moslem and Mohamed and Jihad.
    On and on Mr. Dershowitz!
The simple, strightforward truth tells it all.

    • trickyblain

Speaking of history, wasn't it the Romans that "stole" the land from Israel? Then the Christians, then the Moslems had it for a while, and the Christians came in again, before the Moslems reconquered it from the Christians? And before the Hebrews enhabited the land, others were there – why don't they have rights to it today?

The Native Americans, like the Jews, also beleived that the land was ordained to them by some form of deity. It really hasn't done them much good — the Jews have had it reletively nice by comparison (that is to say, the Jews have country and millions within thier ranks).

I do support Israel's rights to defend herself and greatly admire many Jews. But a certain element among them feels a sense of entitilement that streches back millienia. Individuals only are entitlied to that which they earn, and being born to a Jewish mother does not earn anything. As a nation, Israel deserves respect for what it's citizens have done to a barren land and many other things. But nothing is earned by claiming a divine right.

  • Abraham Stubenhaus

    Thank you Mr. Dershowitz.
You have used so few words to exploain the entire situation clearly and with great and direct application of wisdom based on factual reality.
    Thnak you so much!

  • John C. Davidson

The use of the word 'Bigot' has taken on a new meaning. It is used to end a debate like a mouse turd in a candy bar.

Israel is in Haiti for PR purposes and not for compassion or humanitarian reasons. The Haaretz, Jerusalem Post, and Ynet reported story about Haiti being a godsent for Israel to change its negative image in the world as a result of Gaza. Israel is condemned by the world because of its massacred of 1450 Palestinians, a 1/3 being and causing vast destruction in Gaza. Israel has also been condemned for ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homes in East Jerusalem, using violence to stop peaceful protests, and blockading Gaza to commit genocide on Palestinians via starvation, lack of medicine, lack of access to medical treatment, contaminated water, and disease. Israel is condemned for denying reconstruction material into Gaza to repair over 60,000 Palestinian homes that were destroyed or damaged.

Few can understand Israel sending Rescue Aid to Haiti when it has a Haiti (Gaza) in its own backyard. Let Israel show some compassion and humanity toward Gaza and the condemnation and criticism may well cease or decrease.

  • marge

    Mr. Dershowitz,

As a educator and a human being, please show compassion and use your influence with Israel to help over 700 Palestinian students in Gaza get passes out of Gaza to continue their education. For some reason, Israel has refused to allow the students to leave Gaza and continue their education. Many of the students have paid scholarships to attend universities abroad to further their education, and are at risk of losing their scholarships. Please help the Palestinian students get passes out of Gaza so they can continue their education and go on with their lives.

    • Stephen_Brady

Ah, yes. Help the PALs get to their universities, so they can become better-educated killers ….

  • BS1977

Nothing new here…Israel has been under seige since 1948….and long before now that I think about it. ROcket attacks, suicide bombings, assassinations, sniper fire, all justified by Israel haters like Marge…who cannot resist calling Jews every loathesome name there is. Marge hates herself but doesn't know that yet.

I never thought this site would let a charlatan leftist write an article here. The close friend of former chief justice Barak who joins him on the views that for peace agreement Israel is required to get back to what Abba Eben termed "Auschwitz borders".

Mr. Dershowitz – you're a leftist by any measure. The way you throw pieces of Israel at the leftist dogs such as Finklestein or Chomsky and still lose miserably despite it makes you unfit for representing Israel.
More over, you looked like a joke sitting near Aguiar's Ferrari, reminding me of the lawyer in the movie "Carlito's way" portrayed by another mad leftist – Sean Pen, how ironic.
The saying – "with such friends, who needs enemies" applies to you beautifully and the sad fact that Frontpage chose to publish your article doesn't mean we'd settle on the likes of you.

Your friend Barak is one the most despised people in Israel (except your friends in the media, law and leftists) having said "the Jews want to throw the Arabs out", acting like a mad dictator at the high court. It's a known fact that the Israeli courts are infested with what former IDF chief of staff Yaalon called "viruses" and as they say, a man is judged by his friends…

In summary, leave the defense of Israel to more worthy people, those who don't just have the skill and ability but also the genuine guts to stand for what's called settlements and against the lie called "Palestinian people" who are nothing but Jordanians at best.

    • aliko

One more thing – Dershowitz was supporting the ethnic cleansing of the Gaza strip by throwing all the Jews away. That brought years of full of rockets on southern Israel and target up north to Ashkelon and even Ashdod.

For someone who's responsible for such a failure, I suggest you find yourself other clients.

      • Rifleman

This is a pretty open site, Horowitz carries people he often disagrees with, and though I care less than most for Mr. Dershowitz, that's one of the reasons I'm here so much.

        • aliko

Too bad Dershowitz is using the hospitality to mask his true identity and portray a false defender of Israel.

I don't see how giving concessions to terrorists, which is exactly Dershowitz's agenda goes well with the message this web site tries to promote. As far as I'm concerned, he's more dangerous than the openly terrorist supporters such as Chomsky or Finklestein since he suggests the Fatah are moderates which is a complete lie given their past, their education system and demand for the right of return.

It's a slippery slope from letting people like Dershowitz a space to losing your focus and be another market of ideas. It's not like the left don't have enough channels to publish their ideas as they basically rule the media.

If the media was symmetric, I could understand but it's way off balance.

  • Yetwave

As politically confused as lifelong dem Deshowitz, is, I have to commend his continual support of Israel. He has not been above crticizing Israeli policy in the past, a fact that escapes Marge and a couple of other bloviating israel haters.
Her simple analysis that “Israel is in Haiti for PR purposes and not for compassion or humanitarian reasons” is completely heartless. Tell the Haitian earthquake victim who was rescued from the rubble by an Israeli search dog and tended to at no expense by Israeli medical assistance that the Israeli presence in Haiti is naught but a cynical ploy.
As far as providing similar aid to the rockets launchers in Gaza, the other mohammedan nations of the world with far more resources than tiny Israel, might think about stepping up and exercising the compassion that the Israelis routinely show to others. Oh, that’s right, the compassionate muslim nations of the world refuse to absorb or extend aid to the citizens of Gaza so that they may be kept in squalor and continuously proffered to the world as victims of Israeli belligerence.
There is both stomach turning naivete and ugly, uncompassionate cynicism apparent in Marge and Ellie’s tired rants. But that’s to be expected when one’s thoughts are cribbed directly from leftie broadsides.

  • Steve

    Thank you Mr. Dershowitz.

As always, thank you very much for your clear and simple analysis based on FACTS!

  • cochavi1

I think Marge is a bad person; certainly she is badly informed.

  • Rifleman

Lol that's hilarious! I can't help laughing at anybody dumb enough to suggest Israel's charitable resources should go to people bombarding Israeli towns with mortars and rockets to ease their self-inflicted suffering, rather than people suffering from a natural disaster.

How much have the commies helped? The practitioners of the religion of peace? Shouldn't they be making gaza into some kind of model community (for something other than terrorism and corruption) if it's so important?

  • BS1977

Marge is so full of hatred I am afraid she is going to burst….now wouldn't that be sad?

  • Marty

palestinians are hopelessly confused. By hating Israel they don't see or care to understand that living in peace would bring commercial and scientific benefits. hamas is pathetic; it only offers a medieval life style and more hatred while Israel moves forward in spite of terorirsm. How is it Israel, a country of 7 million, has received more Nobel prizes than the 22 countries of the arab world with a population of 350 million? Could it be a free market and a flourishing democracy?

  • USMCSniper

Bill O'Reilly got it right – Aid to Haiti will never reach the people. Watch, for yourself….

Unfortunately, you are right. Donating programs have become just of souce of income for lazy radicals and should be investigated for fraud. Those that are honest should have no qualms openning their books to the public. Secrecy breeds suspicion.

  • Stephen_Brady

Tricky, speaking as someone who is 1/2 Native American (Comanche), I can truthfully tell you that most of the indigenous tribes of North America had no concept of "owning land", much less having any god give them a sense of entitlement to that land. They did possess land for the purpose of survival.

Being born to a Jewish mother may not earn you anything, but being born a citizen of Israel earns you a stake in the Nation of Israel, which has been earned through bloody conflict. The reality on the ground is what counts. That reality is Israel.

Hello there. Thanks for this site. I visit it regularly to see the latest articles. Very helpful posting.

  • Jonathan

The extent to which Saudi money is funding anti-Israel and anti-Jewish propaganda should not be underestimated.

Any positive mention of Israel is said to be the manipulation of the Zionist controlled media. There are numerous Pro-Palestinian websites which serve to demonize every aspect of Jewish life. False versions of the Talmud and the Protocols of Zion, all proven to be fraudulent documents, are a mouse click away. Some of these sites equate Zionism with Nazism and claim the goal of Israel is genocide of Palestinians. This view is peddled to the world in pictures on the internet and in newspapers.

To the world it seems like Israel developes policies within a vacuum. World opinion seems to be changing and reasonable people should add their voices to the debate. If not now, when?

  • Greg

Marge, one minute you trash Dershowitz and practicaly evil incarnate, and the next you plead, "as an educator and a human being" for his help. You're an educator? I could have guessed by the arrogent way in which you presumed anybody here may have thought your post was being written by an elephant or a cockroach – but hey, thanks for reminding us that you're "a human being." Educator? Sheesh. Stay the hell away from my children.

  • Edip Yuksel

The world knows that Israel is a racist and fascist regime and only Zionists and Evangelical Armageddonite bigots cannot see the bloody crimes committed by Israel against people whose land and life has been stolen. Dershowitz talks about 8,000 rockets send by people who are imprisoned in concentration camp and subjected to humiliation, torture, massacres by Zionist terrorists even before the inception of Israel.

Ironically, those rockets killed one Israeli, perhaps from heart attack, while Israel killed 1400 people in Gaza, at least 600 being children and babies.

I have no problem with Jews. To the contrary I work together with many Jewish friends to promote peace. Unfortunately, by defending the crimes of Zionist regime you are helping the anti-Semitic propaganda.

The world is not blind. The Zionazi propaganda may for a while fool stupid American jingoists and rednecks, but the world has been witnessing the real face of Zionism: a monster playing victim.

Here is an excerpt from my recent book, Peacemaker's Guide to Warmongers:

    • Swemson

      You refer to:

"crimes committed by Israel against people whose land and life has been stolen"

The idea that Israel stole Arab lands is a total fallacy.

One would think that a "distinguished scholar" like you would know that, but despite all your degrees, and all the books and articles you've written, you're apparently still just a Muslim at heart.

Perhaps it would be good for you to learn a bit more about the Israeli Sense of Humor. Here's a good example of it:

An ingenious example of speech and politics occurred recently in the United Nations Assembly and made the world community smile.

A representative from Israel began: 'Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Moses.

When he struck the rock and it brought forth water, he thought, 'What a good opportunity to have a bath!'

He removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water.

When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Palestinian had stolen them.'

The Palestinian representative jumped up furiously and shouted, 'What are you talking about? The Palestinians weren't there then.'

The Israeli representative smiled and said, 'And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech'

    • Rifleman

I'm not "fool stupid" enough to think peace can be made with a party that won't even recognize my right to exist. When the practitioners of 'the religion of peace' want peace (not taqaya) with Israel, they'll have it. They don't want it, as they (hamas, hezz, fatah) say in their founding documents, and every chance they get, they want victory over the Jews and the destruction of Israel.

Nor am I dumb enough to blame Israel for the failure of gazans' to kill more Jews. I do blame Israel for not killing more gazans in response (I guess you're okay with human shields, since you don't mention them. The Israelis' mercy is only taken as weakness by the 'palestinians.' I'll know they've made an adequate response when gazans themselves stop their fellow gazans from attacking Israel.

    Zionism 101

After reading the following quotes — not from this unknown Jew or that obscure Zionist, but from the founders and leaders of Israel — you will have no doubt that Zionism is a cancer against humanity, like its father, Nazism. Starting as an innocent quest to find a secure place for displaced Europian Jews, Zionism soon transformed into a cancer and planted the seeds of hostily and hatred among the children of Adam more successful than Hitler attempted to do. If not confronted by peacemakers, Zionism will ultimately lead us to another World War and another holocaust against races and countries. To remind people this proven fact, I suggest using the words Zionazist or Nazionist instead of Zionist. This is by no means an insult, since this is a fact that has been hidden from gullible masses of individuals through powerful propaganda machines. It is our duty to expose the enemies of peace and of humanity, and modern Zionists are some of the frontrunners. Let us first start with quotes from a few Wikipedia paragraphs under the title “Zionist Political Violence.”

  • Edip Yuksel

Irgun was described as a terrorist organization by the United Nations, British, and United States governments, and in media such as the The New York Times newspaper, and by the Anglo-American Committee of Enquiry. In 1946 The World Zionist Congress strongly condemned terrorist activities in Palestine and "the shedding of innocent blood as a means of political warfare". Irgun was specifically condemned.
Menachen Begin was called a terrorist and a fascist by Albert Einstein and 27 other prominent Jewish intellectuals in a letter to the New York Times which was published on December 4, 1948. Specifically condemned was the participation of the Irgun in the Deir Yassin massacre:

"terrorist bands attacked this peaceful village, which was not a military objective in the fighting, killed most of its inhabitants – 240 men, women and children – and kept a few of them alive to parade as captives through the streets of Jerusalem."

The letter warns US Jews against supporting Begin's request for funding of his political party, and ends with the warning:

Marge is nothing more than a bigot , a jew /Israel hater with a vocabulary .If marge didn't have her head so far up her hind quarter , she would realize that the Paslestinians whom she shills for , have a covenant , called the Palestinian National Charter , which quite clearly and uinmistakeably calls for the destruction of Israel and the removal of jews from the land . The Palestinian National Council on atleast three seperate occaisionshas refused to remove such language from their National Charter , which was in fact a pre-requisite for the Oslo Agreement .
The truth is , that musdlkims and arabs are so obsessed in their hatred of jews , that they can't even think straight or realize that their entire situation is due soley to their own virulent hatred of jews . [ which is inculcated from birth by their own religious dogma]
Marge in her phony [muslim -like ] propaganda request of and criticism of Dershowitz , is a prime example of the bigot's universal reaction to truth , when it is placed directly under their noses , as Dershowitz so intellectually and eloquently does ,and without apology .

    • aliko

Given the propaganda by the likes of Marge and Edip, I'm afraid it's quite impossible to detect the religion of the writer. Naomi Klein, Ilan Pepe and other Jews have written articles that are just as false and propaganda like. Almost every article written by Haaretz's Benni Tziffer seems like it was approved by Julius Streicher and you can see many more examples in the Israeli press.

  • Excalibur

sorry marge , you are either a muslim yourself , or a duped and ignorant sympathizer , whose views are immersed in hatred of the jews .

  • Excalibur

As for you Edip , if you have enough intelligence to own a computer and type out coherent sentences on your keyboard , I suggest you investigate further the alleged incident at Deir Yassin .
I would refer you to a BBC documentary from the 90's titled "50 year conflict ", where the interviewer actually found the arab , who at the time of the interview was an old man , admitted that the incident was a lie , but in order to either get arabs to flee and/or to incite them to fight , the LIE about Deir Yassin was invented .
I may be wrong , but your name indicates you are a Turk , so ….get your head out of the "Protocols of Zion " and do some earnest inquiry into this .

    • Rifleman

Didn't the turks make 'peace' with the Armenians?

  • Excalibur

…. and you too Edip , are no doubt a muslim , whose universal "poster-boy " rationale for jew hate , is the " nakba " and of course those poor , suicide bombing palestinians .
After all , you'd most likely meet with violent reaction from your own co-religionists , if you took any other stance .

Tell me have you any tears for the Armenians that were slaughtered by Turkish Genocide ?

Hey maybe you ought to write a book on that ?

  • William Smart

Foreign visitors to Gaza and the West Bank say that the danger and threats of crime are small compared with the threats and actual killings of the Israeli state.

And commentators are appalled at the way that medical aid of all kinds is kept from any patriotic Gazan.

      Oh please….

Any "foreign visitor" that goes to Gaza, is already biased against Israel. Of course they would say that.

  • R1chardpearce

So, let's see, no criticism of the bigots who claim that Muslims are doing nothing to help in Haiti, indeed, no mention that, say, Jordan had its field hospital deployed on the same day as Israel's, with more staff. No mention that even poor Muslim nations are contributing. No criticism of the media who gushed praise at the Israeli response, and ignored the more numerous Muslim doctors, nurses, rescue workers.

No, it seems like this is just another article written in an effort to chekov the Haitian earthquake response. (If you don't know what chekoving is, watch the Star Trek episode 'Troube with Tribbles' and see the character who lent his name to the practice doing it a few times)

Is the following from your blog?

"This is the home of monotheists who promote reformation in understanding and practice of Islam to fight injustice, totalitarianism, superstitions, misogyny, backwardness and ignorance that have condemned the Muslim World for generations. This site, God willing, will serve as a platform to coordinate, communicate and organize our activities towards a change of paradigm in the realm of religion and politics."

Strange how neo-Nazis are having so much concern for the Palestinians! Are Palestinians
part of the "master race"?Having a common enemy makes for strange bedfellows.
The left has a taste for totalitarianism too;so they fit right in.

  • Nilsson

Dershowitz is too either/or. Those of us with no dog in the fight have no problem with the idea that the Haitian rescue is impelled by mixed motives. Why not do good and do yourself some good at the same time? Sounds good to me.

As for Dersh's assertion that "most objective observers throughout the world marvel at Israel ’s efficiency and generosity in leading the medical aid efforts in Haiti"… such absurd generalisations, which spring fully blown from his own partisan imagination (how does he know what "most people in the world" think about anything?), do Harvard no great credit,

R1chard: If it’s true, it’s terrific that Jordan and ‘even poor muslim nations’ set up field hospitals in Haiti. It would be more edifying to your point if you were to cite sources for your contention rather than attempting to substantiate it with a silly conflation to a Star Trek episode. Just give the nam of a ‘poor muslim nation’ other than Yemen.

Nilsson , nice play of words . It is quite clear that Dershowitz' statement was in reply to an accusation regarding the motives of Israel's response to the Haitian crisis . He does not infer that he knows what everyone is thinking , he qualifies his statement with " most objective observors " ,and in this he is absolutely correct , for he is not responding to "objective people " but to those bigots and jew/Israel haters " who would presume to know that Israel's motives are disingenuous .

Dershowitz is indeed partisan in his views on Israel and jews , however his statement is not . And you know it .

Mahomet took many things from the Bible. "Love thy neighbour as thyself" wasn't one of them. AD is right to criticize the Muslim's retarded response to relief efforts. We could say that from an Islamic perspective, an earthquake is just a kind of natural jihad.

  • Excalibur

As for R1chard ? go back to watching Star-Trek reruns , as that matches your perceptions of reality

  • Excalibur

" if thy neighbor is not muslim …convert him or kill him " …,.greatr religion huh ?
    yea , I can feel the "peacefullness " .

The Haitian Earthquake ??? The US did it with their "Earthquake Machine " [ of course under the influence of the zionists -a.k.a.-jews ]…oh the wisdom of islam …….

  • Man

The IDF being in Haiti does some good for the Palestinians too besides the obvious, Israel can now stop killing for organs from Palestinians. They will have plenty to ship over from Haiti. God bless the people of Haiti.

Marge is a propagandist, copying or typing anti-Israel diatribes from hate websites and not always correctly. Go back to your cave.
    Dershowitz is the best.
Yet, when he praises the NY Times "for a thoughtful analysis of the controversiality of some Israelis", he is falling into a trap. Israel reporter Bronner was awash in materials which showed that Israel had far and away thebest responseto the Haiti disaster of any country in the world, including our own. Yet Bronner not only refused to report the good news abou t Israel, he used the opportunity to find few those self flagellating Israelis who used Israel's rescue mission to make essentially political complaints about Gaza.
This was not a thoughtful analysis, Alan. It was disgrace by a newspaper that is stuck in demonizing Israel, subtly and brazenly.
Alan, you need to call a spade a spade in respect to the PC NYTimes and elswe

re: Man [hoping that was a sarcasm] if so , then yea it must have been Allah who caused the Earthquake to give the Pals a respite from having their innards sold on the world market .
If not , then you are living proof of the gullibilty that permeates people of your stripe , and provides as good explanation of why muslim dominated countries are so utterly backwards .
