Gutfeld’s Ground Zero Gay Bar

Gutfeld's Ground Zero Idea is Double Rainbow!

Welcome, “Red Eye” fans, to a renewed segment on NewsReal Blog! Formerly, the inimitable Chris Yogerst wrote about “Red Eye,” but now he’s a big time editor and so it falls upon me to, erm, imit him.

Each morning, I will be picking a subject discussed on our favorite Fox News Channel show and expanding on it. I will also try to mention who was on the show and what subjects were discussed for those who may have missed watching.

Without further ado, onto this morning’s episode!

Today’s guests: John Gibson, Jim Norton and first-timer Mary Katherine Ham, who did great justice to the infamous “Leg Chair.”

Among the subjects discussed were the freeing of the Lockerbie Bomber, a carnival shooting game featuring Barack Obama as a target and a London School of Economics study that suggests men work harder than women.

Without a doubt, today’s highlight was the Greg-Alogue, which was all about host Greg Gutfeld’s idea to put a gay bar very near the proposed Ground Zero Mosque in the interests of building bridges.

Gutfeld suggests:

I’m announcing tonight, that I am planning to build and open the first gay bar that caters not only to the west, but also Islamic gay men. To best express my sincere desire for dialogue, the bar will be situated next to the mosque Park51, in an available commercial space.

This is not a joke. I’ve already spoken to a number of investors, who have pledged their support in this bipartisan bid for understanding and tolerance.

As you know, the Muslim faith doesn’t look kindly upon homosexuality, which is why I’m building this bar. It is an effort to break down barriers and reduce deadly homophobia in the Islamic world.

This is, dare I say it, a fabulous idea. If you’re interested in investing, you can contact Greg at his website, DailyGut.com.

Tolerance is an important lesson for all of us. Since Imam Faisal Rauf intends to preach tolerance to us in the form of a $100 Million Mosque, it’s only fair he be asked to show some of his own. The New York City Council, which is all about tolerance, couldn’t have any objections to a free exercise thereof.

Red Eye’s ombudsman, TV’s Andy Levy, pointed out a potential problem. Apparently, NYC law prohibits the extending of a liquor license to an establishment on the same street or within 200 yards of a building used exclusively for religious purposes. Fortunately, Rauf has solved this problem for us, as the so-called Ground Zero Mosque is really a multi-storied community center that only has a mosque in it.

Levy also made mention of a Twitter hash tag game that started as soon as people became aware of Gutfeld’s daily post and went on all day. The game was to suggest names for the proposed bar. Unfortunately, I can’t mention many of them as they were highly suggestive, if not downright lewd. Levy did mention one of the best, which was “The Ba’ath House.” One of my own, meager, contributions was “Khomeini Men, Kholittle Time.”

Levy questioned Gutfeld about his plans during the Half-Time Report:

Any idea what’s going to happen to the show after you’re, you know, dead?

I don’t think Gutfeld need worry about violence. Once the Mosque and the bar are built, it will behoove members of both establishments to see to it there are no untoward events.

Gutfeld’s method of providing a lesson in tolerance is unique, to say the least. And, if you disagree, you’re probably a racist homophobe.
