Hello. Our name is America, and We’re Very, Very Sorry

The sad truth.

The latest episode of “Red Eye” was a hoot as first time guest Dennis Miller joined Martha MacCallum and the cast to bring fans an extra hilarious hour of fun.

Host Greg Gutfeld, back from a brief vacation, led the discussion on varied topics, such as James Cameron’s recent decision to pull out of a global warming debate he arranged. Also, squirrel underwear.

The featured story was the recent report by the US State Department to the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC). You know, that select group of nations that embody the very pinnacle of equality and achievement in the advancement of the human condition by universally condemning Israel.

Listing some of the items in the report, Gutfeld mentioned the State Department highlighted that some minorities are still victims of discrimination in the United States, and that work remains to ensure equality for all.

Did I mention Libya is part of the HRC?

How do nations like Libya and Saudi Arabia wind up on any human rights council? Because it’s the United Nations, of course. Or, as Dennis Miller said:

I took the UN tour today. Even the guidebook was spineless.

The report is part of a review required by the UN of all its member states. As such, we have never done it before. Why? Because no president in the history of this country would ever think of us answering to nations like Libya.

As Gutfeld noted (and I paraphrase):

The UN consists of oppressive regimes. If we humble ourselves, others will be better is the idea.

To hell with that! We’re going to humble ourselves before Saudi Arabia? What proud leader of the free world would ever dream of doing such a thing?

Damn it!
