MSNBC’S angry everyman Ed Schultz likes to call Sarah Palin dumb. That’s big talk coming from a one-note fat man who has Houston congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee as a regular guest.
Lee is best known for not knowing we didn’t land on Mars, a speech in which she thought North and South Vietnam were still two separate countries, and taking a cell call while being asked a question by a constituent at a town hall.
Here is her latest gem.
While on “The Ed Show” last night to rant about Rush Limbaugh’s hilarious satire of the Democrat leadership fight saying that Jim Clyburn’s new job would be “driving Miss Nancy,” Lee further demonstrated her ignorance of common knowledge, much less parlance.
In response to Sgt. Shultz’s question: “Congresswoman, is there anything the African community can do about this? The comments speak for themselves.” Jackson Lee started off by wondering if it was racist for Rush to call Ed Schultz, “Sergeant Schultz.”
No, I am not kiddng.
SHELIA JACKSON LEE: “I don’t know that to be your name. I’m a little sensitive to what that is to garner. Is that because you have a name that may be ethnically connected to being a Sergeant? I’m not sure what that is. I find that insulting as well.”
While, as usual, Rush was satirizing the Left by pointing out that by the standards of results they set, that demoting the only black congressman in the leadership must be racist; Schultz, Sharpton and Jackson-Lee pretended not to get the joke.
Or maybe, they are just that stupid.
Of course, when Jackson Lee made the below comment at the NAACP Convention this summer, she wasn’t kidding:
All those who wore sheets a long time ago have now lifted them off and started wearing uh, clothing, uh, with a name, say, I am part of the tea party.
Well if anyone is looking for candlepower from Ms. Jackson Lee, I would have to say the Empress has no uh, clothing.
Not that any of this ranks in the top tier of this dim bulb’s utterances. Check this out. She has no idea of the result of the Vietnam War!
JACKSON LEE” “I stand here asking us to do what we did not in do in Vietnam, was to recognize the valiant and outstanding service of our men and women, and to understand that victory had been achieved.
Today, we have two Vietnams, side by side, North and South, exchanging and working. We may not agree with all that North Vietnam is doing, but they are living in peace. I would look for a better human rights record for North Vietnam, but they are living side by side.”
This is mind-numbingly stupid. It doesn’t even rise to the level of stupid. This woman has been part of the War is Lost Caucus in the Congress, but she’s declared victory in Vietnam.
And the Republicans should be ashamed of Christine O’Donnell?
