Left-wing Anti-Semitism, Continued…

Jews, indentified by the yellow rouelle, being burned at the stake.

Medieval Jews, identified by the yellow rouelle, being burned at the stake.

I’m learning some new words today. A “rouelle” was a yellow circular ring used in the medieval 13th century to identify Jews. Other identifying markers have been used as early as the 8th century to identify Jews for persecution. The most recent example of such a mark is the yellow “Jude” arm bands worn by Jewish prisoners of the Nazis during World War II. Or is that the most recent example?

According to reports, on Thursday New York Democratic Rep. Mike McMahon’s spokeswoman Jennifer Nelson provided a list to the New York Observer entitled “Grimm’s Jewish Money, Q2.” Mike Grimm is McMahon’s Republican political opponent and the list was designed to highlight campaign contributions made to Grimm’s campaign by Jewish individuals. Nelson was subsequently fired, but not before questions began to surface as to who knew what and when. Who approved this list and why? Who was involved?

Where is Grimm’s money coming from…There is a lot of Jewish money, a lot of money from people in Florida and Manhattan, retirees. – Jennifer Nelson

Disturbingly, the campaign’s finance director was responsible for compiling the list. He is Jewish. I’ve never been one to shy away from calling an anti-Semitic spade a spade – even if he’s Jewish. This would apparently be the case. But, this doesn’t excuse or exonerate  anyone in the McMahon campaign including McMahon himself. The undertaking of such a controversial effort would require significant financial resources, personnel, and time. Few can believe that this was done without McMahon’s knowledge.

People want answers, they want to know how this could happen. My donors deserve answers. They are extremely offended to be put on a list segregated based on their religion. – Mike Grimm
