Feministe’s Commenting Gulag Vs. NewsReal Blog’s Tolerance

Jenn Q. Public had a great post this morning exposing the Stalinist commenting policy of pseudo-feminist blog Feministe.

Jenn revealed that at Feministe they do not permit contradictory views in their comments. They do not allow pro-life or pro-enforcement-of-immigration-laws comments. Such opinions are regarded as “misogynist” and “racist” and are thus unacceptable.

This stands in stark contrast to how we run things at NRB. Comments challenging and dissenting from the views expressed in our posts are wholly encouraged. Only comments which are rude, ad hominem attacks on the publication, its writers, and its readers will be removed. Comments will not be deleted merely because they express dissenting ideas.

And it’s not just in the comments where dissent and debate is encouraged at our publication, but also in the posts themselves. Our blogging teams feature a wide range of views, with both pro-life and pro-choice writers, believers and secularists, center-right and more firm right. And we will even publish posts starkly at odds with the editorial views of the publication, so as to allow thoughtful dialogue. This has been the tradition of FrontPage Magazine for years and NewsReal Blog continues it.

This is a clear example of the difference between the Right and the Left. The American Idea — which the Right defends — is built on tolerance, freedom and skepticism. Whereas the Marxist Delusion — the animating fantasy of the modern Left for the past 100 years — is one of bigotry, control, and dogmatism.
