Killing Whitey

Pages: 1 2

After 50 years of being inundated with stories of white racism, and being taught in college that in this white-dominated society, only a white can be a racist, the American public has been properly brainwashed into accepting the otherwise incredible: A black man murdered eight white people at his place of work because they were white, and the media story is about the murderer’s alleged experiences of racism.

Here’s the Associated Press Report from Aug. 7, four days after the murders. It was reprinted in The Washington Post and throughout America:

“To those closest to him, Omar Thornton was caring, quiet and soft-spoken … But underneath, Thornton seethed with a sense of racial injustice for years that culminated in a shooting rampage Tuesday in which the Connecticut man killed eight and wounded two others at his job at Hartford Distributors in Manchester before killing himself.

“‘I know what pushed him over the edge was all the racial stuff that was happening at work,’ said his girlfriend, Kristi Hannah.

“‘He always felt like he was being discriminated (against) because he was black,’ said Jessica Anne Brocuglio, his former girlfriend. ‘Basically they wouldn’t give him pay raises. He never felt like they accepted him as a hard working person.’

“‘Thornton changed jobs a few times because he was not getting raises, Brocuglio said.”

The New York Times Aug. 3 headline read: “Troubles Preceded Connecticut Workplace Killing,” and in the second paragraph, the Times reported:

“He might also have had cause to be angry: he had complained to his girlfriend of being racially harassed at work, the woman’s mother said, and lamented that his grievances had gone unaddressed.”

On Aug. 7, 2010, The Washington Post headline read, “Beer warehouse shooter long complained of racism.”

Of course, Thornton was fired for stealing beer, and there was video proof of him doing so. But this fact — the one indisputable and most pertinent pre-murder fact — got lost within the larger context of Thornton’s claims of being a victim of whites.

Those preoccupied with Thornton’s charges of workplace racism might wish to reflect on this: Racist and other bigotry-based murderers always blame their victims. Medieval Christians who murdered Jews blamed the Jews for poisoning wells, baking Christian children’s blood in their matzo or some other terrible crime.

Whites who lynched blacks blamed those blacks for rape or some other crime. Nothing is new about the Thornton racist murders except that the society in which in it occurred concentrated on the racist’s excuses rather than on his murders.

Why would a guy who has been the "victim" of white racism for so long have a white girlfriend? I can only assume he must have been trying in his own valiant and courageous way to open doors and get past all the racism that was bringing him down. The blue-eyed devil made him do it.

    • wsk

He had white girlfriend(s) because it's the best way to get back at the white man…

      • Chiggles

Only if she's pretty. They seldom are.

        • Whitey

and has a job so she can support your lame a$$.

  • RickTorn

Omar Thornton is a thief and murderer! He killed EIGHT (8) people. His charges of racism ring hollow. There is ZERO justification for his despicable act. Concentrating on his "victim" status obscures the immensity of his crime.

  • wacco

The idea of racism being mutally exclusive to white people has gone so far as to birth the term reverse-racism. Which is a back-handed way of subtely implying that racism targeted at white people is somehow less offensive and somewhat expected if not deserved. While it is important to identify the underlying causes of any episode we should be careful not to focus on the event itself. The murderer's excuses should have been secondary to his actions.

    • trickyblain

They are secondary — even ancillary. Would it have made the headlines if he had just complaned of racism and quit his job? No. The murders were the story.

  • IreneAdler

Right, he had to change jobs a few times because he was denied raises he had earned – all because of racism, of course.

It's probably not shocking that his girlfriend and family don't say that he had a chip on his shoulder because he was a loser, and wanted something for nothing. Yup, the fact that he was a thief and was about to lose another lucrative job was whitey's fault.

Those liberal, racist folks in Connecticut have a lot of explaining to do for this guy's murderous rampage.

  • blotto

What we have today in America is the tyranny of the minority. Blacks rule everywhere in society. From having their behavior excused, to getting jobs and seats in colleges over white Americans to becoming more and more tribal and anti-social.

The white progressive knows no bounds in its attempt to curry the favor-votes-of blacks. They live in areas where blacks and their barbaric behavior and crime will not touch them so they get to sit in judegment of white America and America with impunity.

Whether anyone realizes we have two socieities in America: One which loves America and the other run by white progressives and inhabitied by racist, thuggish, crime-ridden, anti-American blacks. And the two will never live compatibly with each other ever again.

  • USMCSniper

Over time, the cumulative effect has been staggering. Justice Department and FBI statistics indicate that between 1964 and 1994 more than 25 million violent inter-racial crimes were committed, overwhelmingly involving black offenders and white victims, and more than 45,000 people were killed in inter-racial murders. By comparisons 58,000 Americans died in Vietnam, and 34,000 were killed in the Korean war. When non-violent crimes (burglary, larceny, car theft and personal theft) are included, the cumulative totals become prodigious. The Bureau of Justice Statistics says 27 million non-violent crimes were committed in the US in 1992, and the survey found that 31 per cent of the robberies involved black offenders and white victims (while only 2 per cent in the reverse). Blacks thus committed 7.5 times more violent inter-racial crimes than whites even though the black population is only one-seventh the size of the white population. When these figures are adjusted on a per capita basis, they reveal an extraordinary disparity: blacks are committing more than 50 times the number of violent racial crimes of whites.

Sometimes I enjoy your posts more than the atricle itself… Maybe you should consider writing for FPM.

      • trickyblain

Or you could just go to the source that he copied and pasted from, nice little white pwer site that it is.

        • browser

C'mon TB, anyone can paste that quote into Google and find multiple places it appears, but do you dispute what the info indicates? Why do you cite just one source when there are many others?

This isn't about USMCSniper – its about a black guy who killed a bunch of whites and those who are trying to justify the murders via cries of racism

          • trickyblain

I really don’t think proving the circumstances behind the murders “justifies” the act.
I'm giving Sniper/Pointman/many other past handles a hard time because he does that quite a bit, without giving attribution. My profession has leaded me to despise plagiarists. The Internet age has made it easy to rip people off, but it also makes catching them much easier.

Why did I pick that particular source when there were many more results returned? It sums up Sniper's view of Blacks. Ask him.

    • sflbib

Be careful when citing government inter-racial crime statistics. One commentator some time ago reported that they are skewed to make whites look worse. How? By changing the "race" of Hispanics to fit the situation. An Hispanic is considered white if he commits a crime against a white or a black, but a minority if a white commits a crime against him.

      • trickyblain

Where is your evidence that government statistics are based on this method?

  • Voltimand

The logic of the left is driven by a sense of guilt and the need to transfer that guilt to someone else (aka "scapegoating") by fingerpointing them as perps. IOW, what drives liberals is the guilt which they accuse others of, all of which comes down to saying "tell me who you hate and I'll tell you what you are." The democratic party has always been the party of people that believe that they have the right to live by the sweat of other people's labor. Before the Civil War, they lived by the labor of slaves. When slavery became unconstitutional, they started and continue to live off the labor of the taxpayer. Meanwhile, they justify their exploitation by accusing other parts of American society of–you guessed it–exploitation.

So ot course, the knee-jerk reaction of the liberal media is to accuse whites of deserving the attacks of blacks, because they know that accusation is another way of saying "Hey, look at me–I'm innocent, I know what the right thing to do is, and I do it: accuse other people of my own racism."

    • trickyblain

Can you point us to a single article in a mainstream paper that "accuse(s) whites of deserving the attacks of blacks"?

      • browser

Aren't we discussing the AP, Washington Post and NYT's providing the killers excuses for the killings?

  • sflbib

If his employer was racist, why would they have hired him in the first place?

    • lscott

Well, we all know that they couldn't find a white guy dumb enough to do that kind of work at that low a rate of pay. That would be Thornton's explanation anyway.

  • Doug

Anyone heard closer details on the work environment at the beer distributorship? What are the chances that he was bothered by the increasing frequency of small groups of people expressing their revulsion to Obama? In the warehouse, near the water cooler, in the cafeteria, wherever. What if they don't whisper when a black guy is around, but exercise their right to speak freely. I am certain there are many blacks who are seething because their Messiah is being castigated, they don't like it, they take it personally, but worst of all, they are too blind to see why he is failing so miserably.

    • johnnywood

Doug, I think you make a good point. When a white person criticizes Obama because of his moronic policies many black people just hear us saying a black man is not fit to be President. That of course is not what is being said. This man is not fit to be President but that does not mean a black man or woman, period, could not be suitable for the Office. If a black person ever runs for election to that Office I will vote for him or her as long as he or she is not a socialist bastard. I expect him or her to love and respect the country and lead according to the will of the people.

  • trickyblain

I wonder how Prager would’ve liked to have seen the story reported. Why is it "bad" to describe the perp's self-described motives? Is this any different than telling us about the Virginia Tech perp's motives? Or Manson's motives?

In Pragerland, explaining and reporting are equivalent to endorsement. In reality, it's not.

And if a white conservative had done the same thing to black coworkers, there would be silence from Mr. Moral Prager and FPM. At least until a newspaper explained the perp's motives, at which point Holy Dennis – with his self-declared “moral clarity” — would holler that the "MSM" is accusing all conservatives of racism.

    People take Prager seriously? Really?

    • astra

Manson wanted to start a race war, whites against blacks against whites. Apparently, this clown Thornton was towing the Manson line. Was he listening to Helter Skelter for clues too?

Virginia tech guy didn't take his meds. Are you taking yours? Really, I think you've lapsed.

      • trickyblain

So, you know the motives. That means that you heard the reports of the motives. You, and the rest of the world, know that Manson used Helter Skelter as inspiration. Was the media sympathizing with Manson ("Yeah, I can see how that song wuld lead somebody to murder a pregnant woman"). Why is reporting the alleged motives of this case any different?

My meds? I think I left them on your mom's nightstand.

    • Judahlevi

I have followed Dennis Prager's writings for years and he has more intelligence, wit, and insight in one paragraph than you do with all of your snide remarks. You are obviously on the wrong site. This is not the Huffington Post or Daily Kos.

No matter how much alleged 'racism' this person supposedly endured, none of it gave him the right to take the lives of his innocent co-workers – even if they were racists which I doubt. You don't kill someone just because they call you names. I agree with Dennis that this guy was just coming up with an excuse for his rage at being caught stealing.

The left, however, has no problem with anyone they think is a racist to be murdered. They threaten conservatives with violence and death quite often. We need to remember the Soviet Union was a leftist paradise where G-d was banished, children indoctrinated at school, dissent was punishable by imprisonment or death, and private property right eliminated. That is their utopia.

      • trickyblain

I disagree with your first paragraph.

I totally agree with most of your second paragraph.

I don't know who yu are talking about in the last. Who is the "left"?

        • Judahlevi

I really don't care if you agree or not. It makes absolutely no difference to me.

          • trickyblain

I know you are but what am I. So there.

Several years ago, on one of my internet safaris, I came across the US Department of Justice’s web site. In looking over the murder statistics, I discovered that a white person had a 3-4 times the probability of being murdered by a black person than a black person had of being murdered by a white person. This was a straight murder to murder comparison, unadjusted for the disparity in the size of the groups in the overall population.

Since that time, I have seen this observation mentioned just one time in the mainstream media and that was by Michael Barone in US News & World Report.

  • 080

The name is Omar. You know like Mullah Omar in Afghanistan. There is no mention of the Omar angle but it's presented as a problem of race. Who has looked into the associations of Thornton, er, I mean Omar?

  • WilliamJamesWard

Will Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson demonstrate against the racist victims of
murder, will they shake down………..demand reparations for the agrieved
slayer of white radicals who had the audascity of going to work that day not
hung over by stolen beer? Just how much of a reparation should they demand
for Omar (less their cut) can never be enough for a hero of Black Liberation
Theology. Omar what you did was deplorable and nothing anyone says will
fill the hole you put in the families of your victims nor make black and white
Americans proud though in Islam and in Leftyland you will surely be heroic.

  • auntieizlam

I don't suppose that his real name (Omar Shariff Thornton) hints at another reason for his sudden jihad syndrome? No, of course not & certainly the MSM would never even suggest such a thing, would they?

I DO NOT believe he was racially harassed. I think he was trying to shift the blame for poor job performance and theft away from himself. When that didn't work he punished the people in charge (who happened to be white & non-muslim) by shooting them. End of story.

  • El Ninyo

Omar Thornton–Just another case of niggiz bein niggiz.

  • Dr. John Little

Racial problems persist for a myriad of reasons. Neglected are two that need attention: (1) white backlash, and (2) the thirteen percent factor. The thirteen percent factor cannot easily be solved, but it needs to be recognized. This is the percentage of Americans that are identified as black. The figure represents a severely small segment of the total population, and that factor, alone, causes problems of identity for the minority vis a vis the greater body. If there be any solution to this problem, best it be that we just stop talking about racial identity. Cordially, John Little

    • Judahlevi

Everyone is an individual, not a skin color. The problem you have, and many people who think the same way, is to collectively identify a group based on something as arbitrary as their skin color, treat them as a homogenous group (which they are not), and assign values to them. This is the same thing racists do – assign values to people based on some group identity trait.

The solution is to start treating people as individuals, not groups. Rene Descartes said, "I think therefore I am." We are individual minds, not skin colors. We are not defined by our skin or gender, we are defined by how we think. Quit putting people in groups and treat them as the unique individuals they are. Who cares what percentage any group is? That doesn't define all of those people.

This guy was a racist murderer no matter what skin color he was. He agreed with you that skin color defines people. He assigned a value of hate to these victims because of the group they were in. This is where collectivist thinking will lead – everytime. Identity politics creates divisions, it does not create societal harmony.

      • John Little

Please read my last sentence. JL

        • Judahlevi

I read your last sentence but you also insist that the 13% figure is a problem and something called "white backlash" whatever that is. I don't think the 13% figure means anything at all.

Re-read my post which is the real solution to both race and gender identity politics.

I suppose evil whitey is keeping all those black folks here? Don't you think if they were so oppressed by that statistic they'd go to africa?

      • auntieizlam

Their opportunities & lifestyle here surpass anything they could possibly expect in the land of their ancestors. Also, one mustn't forget who sold them into slavery.
