Obama’s Other Anti-Semitic Guru

Pages: 1 2

The disclosure, during the 2008 presidential campaign, that Barack Obama had for two decades sat contentedly (perhaps with his cerebral hearing aid turned off) listening to the tirades of his pastor Rev. Jeremiah (“God Damn America”) Wright against “them Jews” caused him some brief embarrassment but no harm at the polls, certainly not among Jewish voters. No attention whatever was paid to the possible link between Obama’s moral tone-deafness in the presence of clergyman Wright and his intense admiration of another, more unctuous, political clergyman with even less charity toward Jews than Wright: namely, Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Obama and Tutu have long admired each other. They first met in 2006 when then-Senator Obama visited Tutu in South Africa. In August 2009, Obama awarded Tutu the Congressional Medal of Freedom. Earlier this month, on the occasion of the Anglican clergyman’s 79th birthday, the president lauded him as “a moral titan—a voice of principle, an unrelenting champion of justice, and a dedicated peacemaker.”

In recent months, Tutu has demonstrated his dedication to peace, justice, and principle in the Middle East, in particular, by speaking up for Hamas and supporting the “Freedom Flotilla” of Islamist jihadists and “internationalist” do-gooders (people who confuse doing good with feeling good about what they are doing) who, in the spring, tried to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza. He has also repeatedly endorsed the activities of the BDS (Boycott/Divest/Sanction) movement. This reincarnation of the Nazis’ “Kauf nicht beim Juden” campaign of the 1930s constantly invokes Tutu’s “authoritative” condemnation of Israel (where Arabs and Jews use the same buses, beaches, clinics, cafes, and soccer fields, and attend the same universities) as an “apartheid” state.

But his fulminations against Jews have a long history. They are so well-documented that one wonders if President Obama can possibly be ignorant of them, especially now that he has a “Director of the Office to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism” named Hannah Rosenthal, who has shown herself adept at spotting that evanescent phenomenon called “Islamophobia” at a distance of ten miles away. Here are just a few examples of Tutu’s “moral titanism” on the Jewish question, chosen from the same period in which Obama was attending the sermons of Jeremiah Wright.

On the day after Christmas, 1989, Tutu, standing before the memorial at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem for the millions of Jews murdered by the Nazis, prayed for the murderers and scolded the descendants of their victims. “We pray for those who made it happen, help us to forgive them and help us so that we in our turn will not make others suffer.”1 This, he said, was his “message” to the Israeli children and grandchildren of the dead.

Moral obtuseness, mean spite, and monstrous arrogance do not make for sound ethics and theology. Neither Tutu nor the Israelis he lectured can “forgive”  the Nazi murderers. Representatives of an injured group are not licensed (even by the most sanctimonious of preachers) to forgive on behalf of the whole group. In fact, forgiveness issues from God alone. The forgiveness Tutu offers the Nazis is truly pitiless because it forgets the victims, blurs over suffering, and obliterates the past.

Tutu is always far less moved by the actuality of what the Nazis did (“the gas chambers,” he once said, “made for a neater death” than apartheid resettlement policies 2) than by the hypothetical potentiality of what, in his jaundiced view, Israelis might do. His speeches against apartheid returned obsessively to gross, licentious equations between the former South African system and Jewish practices, biblical and modern. “The Jews,” Tutu declared in 1984, “thought they had a monopoly on God” and “Jesus was angry that they could shut out other human beings.”3

Tutu has been an avid supporter of the Goebbels-like equation of Zionism with racism. He has alleged that “Jews…think they have cornered the market on suffering”4 and that Jews are “quick to yell ‘Anti-Semitism’” because of “an arrogance of power—because Jews have such a strong lobby in the United States.” 5 Jewish power in America is, in fact, a favorite  Tutu theme. In late April 2002, he praised his own courage in resisting it. “People are scared in [America] to say wrong is wrong because the Jewish lobby is powerful, very powerful. Well, so what? Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin were all powerful, but in the end they bit the dust.” 6

Add one more to the list of acquaintances, cronies, and unsavory characters with whom Obama surrounds himself who are Muslim-sympathizers, anti-Semitic, America haters, anti-capitalists, radical Marxists, globalists, or just your run-of-the-mill terrorists. Tell me who you're with, and I'll tell you who you are. Is there anyone within a one-mile radius of this guy who loves this country? The most polarizing president in the history of our nation has certainly fulfilled one of his campaign promises: transparency. We have seen the wolf under the sheep's clothing as surely as if we used a powerful airport scanner.

Uh oh, big mistake, Front Page Mag! Us mere mortals are not allowed to criticize the all-holy Desmond Tutu. Similarly, we are not allowed to point out what a bigot and racist the man is. Desmond Tutu is the self-anointed father of apartheid fighters. That means he is allowed to say whatever he wants without recrimination. It will all be ignored because after all, the man SUFFERED!! Big time. In his big house in Cape Town, with the world's dignitaries beating a path to his door, he suffered.

In short, you must be racist, because you paid enough attention to his sayings and doings to call him out.

  • FRITZ

Mr. Tutu if ISrael is so bad,why black Africans even Muslims flee to Israel and don´t want to stay in Arabic countries?

  • Andres de Alamaya

Paradoxically, when it comes to Africans, Jews tend to act as good Christians are supposed to act; but then it was a Jew who tried to teach the Christians in the first place. Being realistic, the heathens who converted to Christianity learned from Jesus what the Jews have yet to learn – which is that when you turn the other cheek you get yourself crucified.
In America they could have learned something from the Leo Frank case in 1913-1915. Leo, a young Jew from the north, managed a pencil factory in Atlanta. A girl in the plant was murdered. A black man, Jim Conley, who in all likelihood committed the murder as later evidence indicated, gave false testimony, lied through his teeth, and Frank was sentenced to death. After 12 days of reviewing the evidence, Governor Slaton commuted the sentence to life imprisonment. But a lynch mob broke into the jail and hanged Frank. CONTINUED

In the 1950s and 1960s Jews played a disproportionate role to their small number in America in The Civil Rights Movement. Two of them gave their lives for the cause. The murders Andrew Goodman, a 20-year-old Jewish anthropology student from New York; and Michael Schwerner, a 24-year-old Jewish CORE organizer and former social worker also from New York, symbolized the risks of participating in the Civil Rights Movement in the South during what became known as "Freedom Summer", dedicated to voter registration.
Jews and Arabs are ethnically related. Their contemporary difference is that Arabs become suicide bombers and Jews in America have become suicide voters. Perhaps they’ll learn by November.

  • AntiFascist18

The more I look at guys like Obama, Tutu, and Jeremiah Wright, and the longer the Black community in America is silent about them, the more – and forgive me Abe Lincoln – I wish Bobby Lee and the Confederates had won the Civil War.

Blacks, Catholics and Jews are all afflicted with the same Stockholm syndrome that ties them to the DemoMarxist Party. Blacks vote for their plantation owners, Catholics for the murderers of their babies and Jews for their concentration camp guards.

People need to make the choice: Either you're on the side that fights for the destruction of Marxism and the ridding of the world of this great evil (100,000,000 dead in its name and counting), or you're on the side that fills the useful-idiot role for them, to serve until the day they no longer need you and then you can be discarded. (Which is, ironically, the case with the Marxists and the Muslims regarding each other.)

  • flyingtiger

There is also a local political angle. Tutu has visited Chicgao so many times, it should be considered his second home. At a press conference, he even chastized reporters for critizing mayor richard michael Daley. How dare we critize the man who illegally destroyed Miegs Field, killing at least two people and possible more; and the man who bankrupted a properious city for his corrupt buddies.
Is this why he got the congressional medal?

  • Yankeegirl

As a former Episcopalian, I detest Bishop Tutu. Talk about affirmative action in action! He is a second-rate clergyman of what has become a failing denomination. Any young person seeking a "career" as a priest in this cult should think again. Their Gospel is not of the scriptures but is of this world, with a redistributionist philosophy that mirrors that of "Rev" Jeremiah Wright. I did not know of Tutu's trash talk re: Israel and the Jews until I read the article above. It explains some of the things I have read coming out of the mouth of the so-called Presiding Bishop Katherine Jefferts Schori who wants our money to go to the UN's Millenium Development Goals.

  • apeterstone

It was not the Congressional Medal of Honor. It was the Congressional Medal of Freedom – which he didn't deserve.

When will the 'annointed one' give Rev Wright the Congressional Medal of Freedom.

  • Gene Stevens

The Congressional Medal of Honor is only given to those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The above article should have said that President Obama awarded Bishop Tutu the Presidential Medal of Freedom. That is a major error that needs to be corrected.

I always knew there was a reason to despise Tutu beyond his obvious socialism.

  • Micha Broadman

Tutu did not recieve the Congressional Medal of Honor (there actually is no such honor…our brave members of the military who receive this often misnamed honor, get the "Medal of Honor" and it can only be awarded to a member of the US military). Tutu received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, an award that is the highest award that the US can bestow upon a private citizen (members of the military, are however, not excluded). The Presidential Medal of Freedom, has about as much value as the Nobel Peace Prize, won by such luminaries as Obama, the tyrant terrorist Arafat and indeed Tutu, among others of rather dubious credentials.

  • David

The Left (Communists, Socialists, Greens and trade unions) are as anti-Semite as madman A-nejad in Iran, Palestinians, Hezbollah and other backward and fanatic Muslims. We will see the real Barack Hussein Obama ( I think he is far worse than Jimmy Carter) when he leaves office. Desmond Tutu is a despicable man and he has another pal not better than him and he is Nelson Mandela and nobody talks about him. Political correctness or liberal white guilt? I call it cowardice.

I'm an Iranian citizen and I support Israel, USA, democracy and despise Islam.

  • bubba4

Medal of Freedom, Medal of Honor, it doesn't make a difference. The point is that Desmond Tutu is a anti-semite and by association Obama is an anti-semite.

Everyone's an anti-semite. I think every race should get a special word for hating it. I think Horowitz and FPM are anti-mutt. It's always about purity to them, and fighting for a foreign state that they can at any point go become a citizen of. This raises serious doubts as to their allegiance to America.

How do you like that spin? Well it could get far worse if I continue down the FPM cultic world-bend method. I swear, FPM could write an article about how Mother Theresa was a Marxist pig who helped people to forward Communist World Domination (who also had Muslim friends…wink) and by the end of the article you guys would be screaming for her body to be exhumed so you could prove that Hitler's power ring was hidden in her stomach.

Look, I know the red phone rang this morning and told you guys that today was going to be about how Obama is anti-Israel, but this is really a guilt by association hatchet job that like all articles on FPM places Israel beyond criticism and twists the thoughts and feelings of others so you can paint another black man as an anti-semite and Obama's "guru".

Which one of the Black Panthers in the 60's was Horowitz's guru? It doesn't have to be real…I'm just saying pick one, the article writes itself.

    • MixMChess

Bubba, you can think Horowitz is hypocrite, anti-mutt or just plain crazy. That doesn't make Desmond Tutu and less antisemitic.

      • bubba4

Desmond Tutu doesn't hate the jews. He's black and he's compares what is happening to Israel to what happened in South Africa. That's enough. Which was my point.

  • bubba4

No, well done to you sir. "Nasty Joos"?

Pathetic. The Jews have to take their lumps like the rest of us. You can't make any criticism of even a story about criticism of jews into jew hate. That makes you and extremist and a fool and it takes away from fighting anti-semitism where it is actually a problem.

    • MixMChess

"The Jews have to take their lumps like the rest of us."

I think Jews take plenty of lumps just like everyone else.

      • bubba4

        tell it to stern

    • stern

bubba, way to miss the point I was making. Tutu has made it perfectly obvious how he feels, by what he says and by what he does. He is clearly anti-Semitic. You have chosen to ignore everything he has said and everything he has done, in order to make your point. And in telling us that we have to "take our lumps", you show what a bigot you are. Aren't six million dead enough "lumps" for you? How about pogroms, the Spanish Inquisition, ongoing terrorism etc. etc.

The only thing you're spot on about is your choice of screen name, bubba.

      • bubba4

        lol…bubba means brother…

Look, you're only showing how this works. In a nutshell…

        FPM: Tutu is an antisemite

Me: Yeah yeah everyone's an antisemite…this is a typical smear article…here are the mechanics of it.

Stern: You're saying "nasty joos" (you're an anti-semite)

        Me: You're proving my point

Stern: Anti-semite bigot, holocaust forgetter or something…

So here we are Stern…I guess you wanted to be the example jew. Ruffle your feathers a bit and it's "what about the 6 million dead jews". Way to go…you're a credit to your people.

You can't except criticism, even about an FPM smear article. WHICH WAS MY POINT. Those are the "lumps" you couldn't accept and went to the default position of saying I was smearing jews. I don't care what race or creed you are. It simply doesn't matter to me in the slightest.

FPM shamelessly cries victimhood whenever it wants to and apparently now, so do you. This article had one purpose…and it's in the title.

        • stern

brother, you refuse to answer the points in the article. These are words that came out of Tutu's mouth, on more than one occasion. He has proved himself to be anti-Semitic, by his words and by his actions. You don't disprove this, you don't refute it. All you do is tell us we're too sensitive and we must take our "lumps" without getting our feelings hurt.
Problem is, brother, we've learned through bitter experience that when the bigots start talking, it doesn't take long before we start dying. If it bothers you that I take exception to this, then, brother, you can lump it.

Clearly, you don't like Jews who fight back. Well, brother, better get used to it, 'cause we ain't going away.

          • bubba4

Oh I see Stern. I didn't offer a properly articulated refudiation of the "evidence" of the article…that's what made it unfair to the jews. The whole article is made up of assertions, pulling partially from real life events and quoting (quite chopped up) from speeches and appearances or whatever for which there are no transcripts available or links. So that makes it tough to follow up on some things if I was inclined to write you a term paper. Which I wasn't…so I condemned the dishonestly and style of the article….and gave an example of how the guns can be turned around.

I've always said religious people can't do transcendence…it's too much to give up…but if some bishop or preacher or whatever wants to try to "forgive" the Nazis…whatever. Again, without any reference for this, I have to say the writer is being less than genuine. I don't think Desmond Tutu hates the jews. I think if you use the word "aparthied" and "Israel" in the same paragraph then FPM will make you a hater of jews.

          • stern

I think I get it Bubba. Somewhere along the way, somebody called you an anti-Semite. Of course, you were horrified. You don't hate the Jews, you just don't think they should have the same rights as anyone else – to live without being threatened, to lobby without being labelled anti-American, to hold a viewpoint that's different from yours without being called bigots.

So now, you go out of your way to discredit anyone who calls anyone else an anti-Semite. I've just spent 5 minutes on google, on a search for "Desmond Tutu" + "Yad Vashem" and there's no shortage of evidence to back up the claims in this article. Nobody asked you to do a term paper. However, before you comment, at least take the time to make sure your comments are valid.

          • bubba4

There's no reason to go hunting for reasons when I told you it was about FPM calling people anti-semites and they they dredged up this story because one of the mandates this week was paint Obama as against Israel. We're on FPM. This comment section is about the article…on FPM.

Tutu gave a speech in 2002…some of which is chopped to bits above….
As I said before, if you think the Jews aren't 100% in the right where the god/land issues are concerned, then to some you're an anti-semite. I don't see where he hates the jews. So there…my first post said again.

You just should have left "nasty joos" out of your first post. Instead of addressing my article critique to tried the same tool on me that I was saying is weak and wrong.

I like Andres' comment about Jews being suicide voters. Many American Jews have adopted the false religion of liberals, and cannot conceive of voting for any party except the Democrats. If there was an alternative socialistic party, these people might vote for that. Part of this stems from the years of oppression of Jews by the country club WASP aspect of the Republican Party. But that is history, and the worm has turned. Because the Democrats can rely on a large portion of Jews to lock-step vote for them, the Democratic Party in the last 10 years has ignored the Jews. Being anti-Israel is the PC way of being a Jew hater. However, the suicide voters who are Jewish still cannot see through their liberal bias. Some are waking up. I am Jewish and vote for the best candidate, who is usually Republican. Unfortunately, some of my relatives, including one brother, are lock-step Democrats. They do not want to test their bias with the truth.
    May God help us.

I am grateful to readers who pointed out that Desmond Tutu received the Congressional Medal of Freedom, not the Medal of Honor. I have asked FPM' s editors to make the correction.

He should be addressed as the "Ayatollah Tutu," don't you think?

  • Beverley

Tutu is a Liberation Theologian. He mixes Christianity with Socialist and Communist principles. This of course only when it suites him because he does not live like one. First class home in Cape Town, cars and no doubt travel when he collects all his awards. He is charm personified and such a sence of humour when he collects all these accolades and lectures all us sinful people with his self righteousness.

As a Christian he has denied the virgin birth of Christ (and much more) so is not a believer in Sola Scripture. If Christ was not born of the Holy Ghost then he was born in sin and could not have died for our sins and was not the Lamb of God. But then ofcourse
Tutu does not need Christ, he has saved himself by all his good works!!!

  • Lori

Sounds so Morbid and yet It Is Truth Man Hates, Tutu actually Believes all He Does Is Right! Have Any Solutions? I guess we all better be prepared To Stand Or Crawl, I am Standing For Truth, I will not Crawl or bow to Tutu Ideas, Tutu Will Perish Due to lack Of Knowledge.

You ask why does wight and tutu hate Jews and why is obama part of this evil little rats? well obama hates whites like wight and tutu, the sad fact is many Jews just don't get what can happen to the jews if obama and the black Reds get what all want, can we say mass Holocaust and the mass slaughter of whites in all countries. check out what has happened to whites in south africa, and for being a " moral titan" ask why tutu said nothing about the murder of poor white kids by black kids, do you know that was going on big time in South Africa? and yes tutu like wirght are champions for that person race.

Alexander et al: cut out the racist crap.
Tutu's comments do not BEGIN to compare with Rav Ovadia Yosef's recent declaration that it is the role of gentiles to serve the Chosen Jewish race.

I am Black and Jewish. I know that if I as a Black person had lived in Apartheid in South African were White Jews were behaving similar to the Nazi’s in their dealings with school children (murder, beatings, electrocution, etc) then I would be pissed off too. H’ promised the Jews Israel. Get the hell out of South African you bigots! (This statement is only for the racist Jews of South African and the ones who stood by and did NOTHING during apartheid other than part take in “white privilege.” )

  • PeaceBro

So is Tutu also an 'apartheid-sympathiser' for forgiving , through TRC, the perpetrators of apartheid and the 1000's of deaths that ensued? He does those things as a worthy bearer of the peace prize and a man of God.

Another misquote… the comments attributed by Tutu against SA Jews because of the Israel liason with SA is quite irrelevant to not saying the same against those of English, American, german heritage. I am a South African classed as Coloured by the Apartheid regime, and the majority of Jews/Zionists that resided in SA still regarded themselves as citizens of Israel and funded Israel. That is quite different to a former English that had severed ties with England. There was a direct , clear and monetary connection with Israel which continues to be the case throughout the world be it Frank Lowy of Australia or Saban of US ("my only issue is Israel") who fund Israel's actions with their billions.

This is just typical , pull out the old 'anti-semite' card which is hard to defend against when anyone dares criticise any Jewish , or Israel as a country, or the way in which they dominate the world media, entertainment and finances.

And if that doesn't work , then call them nazi's..that's Godwin's law isn't it…that should shut them up.
