Your Money At Work: The National Science Foundation Puts on a Climate-Change Play

Even with over one in ten Americans out of work, the National Science Foundation is using the government’s money to put on a play. But not just any play – a musical. And not just any musical – a spectacle piece of agitprop theatre pushing the tired agenda of the global warming cult. You probably just found yourself thinking we haven’t spent enough money educating the public about global warming. If so, maybe I can interest you in donating to a not-so-funny improv group known as Congress.
The National Science Foundation has awarded a $700,000 grant to the Civilians (such a swell name, I guess that means they stand for all of we the people), a New York theater company, to finance the production of a show about (how’s this for presenting fiction on the stage) climate change. “The Great Immensity,” with a book by Steven Cosson and music and lyrics by Michael Friedman, tells the story of Polly, a photojournalist who disappears while working in the rain forests of Panama. The show had its premiere last April at Princeton University. I wonder if they were rigorous with their agenda and performed it without all the waste that goes into putting on a show (tickets, programs, electrical use for such bourgeois niceties as theatrical lighting… heck, I’ll bet there was even some Arctic dry ice in use…)
Seriously, $700,000? Maybe they think they can get away with it because; a) theatre folk are used to presenting untested ideas that are “carbon footprints” of the usual leftist mindset, b) the theatre, historically speaking, is based in presenting mythology on the stage, or c) theatre folk just generally don’t spent a lot of time researching science.
Hey, Civilians, here’s a little dramaturgy for you –
The myth of man-made (anthropogenic) global warming is nothing more than a cult created by socialists as yet another way to help engineer the destruction of capitalism and the free enterprise system across the globe. Anybody not blinded by a political agenda can see that the premise of man’s CO2 emissions having a significant effect on the planet’s climate is absurd.
