Organizing Kids for Obama

Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Pamela Geller, founder, editor and publisher of the popular and award-winning weblog She has won acclaim for her interviews with internationally renowned figures, including John Bolton, Geert Wilders, Bat Ye’or, Natan Sharansky, and many others, and has broken numerous important stories — notably the questionable sources of some of the financing of the Obama campaign. Her op-eds have been published in The Washington Times, The American Thinker, Israel National News, Frontpage Magazine, World Net Daily, and New Media Journal, among other publications. She is the co-author (with Robert Spencer) of the soon to be released, The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War on America (forward by Ambassador John Bolton).

FP: Pamela Geller, welcome back to Frontpage Interview.

I would like to talk to you today about Organizing for America (OFA), formerly Obama for America, and what it is doing in public schools. Tell us about it.

Geller: Jamie, a reader of my website, Chuck, has a daughter in the eleventh grade in a public high school, Perry Local in Massillon, Ohio. The teacher in her government class passed out a propaganda recruiting paper – headed with Obama’s distinctive “O” logo — asking students to sign up as interns for Organizing for America. You can see the entire intern recruiting form at

The form indicates yet again that Barack Obama is using our public school system to recruit for his Alinsky-inspired private army. Organizing for America is recruiting in our high schools to “build on the movement that elected President Obama by empowering students across the country to help us bring about our agenda” – that is, his agenda of socialism for the United States of America.

FP: So what would you say to the argument that this is just an internship program and that there’s nothing wrong with it?

Geller: Yes, Jamie, it is just an internship program, but what will these “interns” be force-fed? The mother’s milk of the left — anti-war agitation, anti-capitalism, Marx, Lenin, Ayers, LGBT agenda promotion, global warming, soft-on-jihad, and illegal immigration. For starters. Maybe “Ellie Light,” who has in the last few weeks published the same Letter to the Editor supporting and defending Obama in over a dozen newspapers across the country, can give lessons in astroturfing.

FP: Provide some evidence.

Geller: That’s easy.

The evidence for this is that the very form in question carries a recommended reading list, including Rules for Radicals by the notorious hard left community organizer and Obama mentor Saul Alinsky; two Huffington Post articles by Zack Exley, “The New Organizers” and “Obama Field Organizers Plot a Miracle.” The first of those, published in October 2008, enthuses about “an insurgent generation of organizers” inside the Obama campaign that has, “almost without anyone noticing … built the Progressive movement a brand new and potentially durable people’s organization, in a dozen states, rooted at the neighborhood level.”

During the 2000 presidential campaign, Exley operated the website, which was filled with lies about George W. Bush that were designed to kill his chance to become President. The site’s headline was “Just Say ‘No’ to a Former Cocaine User for President.”

Also included on the OFA internship recommended reading list are Stir It Up: Lessons from Community Organizing and Advocacy by the leftist activist Rinku Sen, and sections of Obama’s book Dreams from My Father dealing with his days as a community organizer in Chicago.

FP: What do you think the point is of all this “community” organizing?

Geller: To elect more Democrats, of course. This internship program is geared towards the 2010 elections, using our kids as the Democrats’ goons. The internship form begins with a nakedly partisan and propagandistic appeal: “Organizing for America, the successor organization to Obama for America, is building on the movement that elected President Obama by empowering students across the country to help us bring about our agenda of change. OFA is launching a national internship program connecting students all over the country with our organization on the ground – working to make the change we fought so hard for in 2008 a reality in 2010 and beyond.”

Jamie, can you imagine if the Republicans attempted such a stunt? Obama is using the public school system to help ensure Democratic victories in 2010, 2012, and thereafter.

This is incredible. And it’s profoundly wrong, to say the least. And it is no accident. Obama is poisoning our public school system. He acts as if it’s his own private recruiting farm.

FP: The Obama camp has done questionable things in public schools before, hasn’t it?

Geller: Yes, Jamie. In September 2009, all public school students were forced to listen to his creepy speech about working hard in school. During the campaign the Obama camp had “Kids for Obama Parades.” And public school teachers more than once were caught indoctrinating children into the Obama cult.. Remember the uniformed children chanting about how Obama had motivated them to succeed? P.J. Gladnick wrote about that video at Newsbusters in October 2008 that it was “reminiscent of North Korean kids chanting out their praises for the ‘Dear Leader.’” And don’t forget those many videos of public school kids singing brainwashed tunes of Obama praise.

Long before he was President, Obama’s camp had targeted children and started building a cult of adulation around their hero. The children’s book Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope by Nikki Grimes sets Obama up as a demigod: “Ever since Barack Obama was young, Hope has lived inside him. From the beaches of Hawaii to the streets of Chicago, from the jungles of Indonesia to the plains of Kenya, he has held on to Hope. Even as a boy, Barack knew he wasn’t quite like anybody else, but through his journeys he found the ability to listen to Hope and become what he was meant to be: a bridge to bring people together.”

And now once again our perverse public school system abandons academic standards and achievement, replacing them with radical leftist activism from leftwing Alinsky indoctrinators.

FP: What can parents do about this?

Geller: Be aware and proactive. Children must be advised to expose this propaganda. Children must tell their parents how they are being used and manipulated. Parents, warn your kids. Don’t let Barack Obama recruit his drones from your family.

FP: Pamela Geller, thank you for joining us.

THIS MUST STOP ASAP! No more education indoctrination and NO MORE COMMIE –
FASCIST PIGS running and ruining our lives!

  • The_Inquisitor

    Separation of school and state.

    • jphd

separation of conservatives and government school.

      • The_Inquisitor

Elimination of government school is the only proper means to your end.

  • jacob

Since the education authorities rather back this policy, it is up to the parents to get off their fat assess and the SUPER BOWL fanaticism and read the riot act to both the authorities and the teachers engaged in such indoctrination…

The TEA PARTIES are proof of what can be done and we have undisputed proof of what indoctrination can do right from the youth voting for OBAMA, brainwashed as they were at our colleges and universities by the leftist professors

  • poptoy

This is a NO-NO. should not be happening. The Kenyan and staff can do what they want and everybody has to give in? bull—-. He is a one termer anyway.

    • domesticgoddess

The problem is, it isn't just Obama…there is a legion of radicals that stay, even after he goes.

  • TraseroConservativo

"Public Education" as the Constitution esssentially mandates was not the smartest thing the founders put in the Constitution. One of the founders, I wish I could remember which, said that the Constitution was designed for a moral government. Secularists, these days most widely known as Illiberals/Regressives/Statists, don't deal in morality-based anything–it's all Darwidiocy. Designer citizens is the goal–not good human beings.

    • RalphB

Mind telling me where in the Constitution public education is mandated? Maybe in some state constitutions. The federal government is granted NO authority to do anything regarding education.

    • MichaelWard67

The US constitution DOES NOT mandate any type of education.

  • alle

Public education in America is getting worse and worse. I teach at a college level and we see so many, many students incompetent in math especially. The quality of public education teachers has deteriorated greatly. This bull-crap about signing up for Obama nation and especially Al Gore's big lie "An Inconvenient Truth" only distracts parents from the real issue which is their child's education is very poor quality.

    • USMCSniper

I teach the honors courses in Physics at a major university to engineering and science majors and the first two weeks are teaching calculus which they have allegly taken.

  • JosephWiess

I got called a moron for suggesting that our children were too smart for this crap. As a substitute teacher, I know that most students will take a look at this and throw it away, or they'll go to class and disrupt the lessons.

Where I teach, you are lucky if they even remember a lesson from day to day. As usual, it's the parents that must care enough to teach their own kids what they want them to know.

And sadly, many parents don't care.

  • CL122

As a professor who teaches freshmen college students who recently graduated from high school, I see students who do not know how to think independently or analyze an argument and test it against their own beliefs and worldview. Because it is a Christian college, many of them do not even know why they believe in their faith, because from a young age they have been "indoctrinated" by their parents and church, of course all done innocently and with good intentions, but the fact is still the same. Our young people do not know how think for themselves and to question or analyze arguments. This is what we need to focus on. And then when they are encountered in the public school with this opportunity, they can speak freely about why they choose not to participate or they can accept knowing that they disagree respectfully with the other side's position but they are going to accept it for the experience of articulating their own views and to be a light in a dark place. We need to stop being reactionary and look at what we can actually do. We can all start with our own kids, helping them to learn critical thinking skills and not being threatened when they disagree with our opinions. We don't robots parroting back our exact same views anyway.

  • bardefa

imagine gov HEALTH CARE working like this:
"FEMA – Federal Emergency Management Agency – closed today due to a snowstorm…."

  • BS1977

Testing has shown many high school graduates are functional illiterates. They get into college and cannot comprehend what they are studying. Many cannot do simple arithmetic…have no basic understanding of elementary science, mathematics, history or civics. But their leftist teachers made sure to indoctinate them in PC liberalism….no question about that.

    • Peachey

My daughter is a professor here in LA and states the same. Unfortunately we have the Calif. teacher's union that controls grades K-12 to thank for it. BTW, college professors have a separate union that does not involve itself in the political back-flips and money shuffling donations that the teacher's union does. But, do not expect reform, only stalling and refusal to put the children's needs first. Remember, union dues first and those pesky kids somewhere down the line. For a good laugh, watch the LA Unified School Board meeting. Geez, it is like watching 2 dozen preening peacocks struct and screech and reinforce the same failed Progressive policies, over and over and over and over and over again. The dumbing down of America's children does have a point of origin. Parents that do not concern themselves or become involved in the education of their children are the nexus, with the school teachers reinforcing the Progressive agenda/curriculum of cradle to grave dependency and the removal of critical thinking and independence qualities.

  • USMCSniper

Obama's equivalent to Hitler Youth. You gotta see these tribalism mantras to believe it!!

  • Gabrielle

As I read the postings, I could not agree with everyone more. My deepest concern is not that we do not recognize the problems facing our children and our nation, but how we can organize against all that has happened and stop this destruction of American life and values. Let's not forget these "corruptors" have worked a long time to get to this point in achieving their goals. This is all so scarey, I shudder to think of what the future holds for our beloved country. To parapharse Hitler, "…influence the children and you control the future… ."

  • futurist

This has all happened spontaneously. The media and the universities and Hollywood were not forced to become liberal, they just did. The minorities in the U.S. will be a majority in the not so far future, and the majority of the minorities vote liberal. So we are doomed – none of these trends can be reversed.

  • MichaelWard67

I am organizing kids and parents in my own way, by pushing for in depth U.S. Constitutional studies in schools. Organizing parents, and educating them on how to persuade school boards to up the amount of time spent on the Constitution and its surrounding documents. If our kids do not know what their Constitutional rights are, how will they know when the government tramples them? I'm also pushing for parents to educate their kids at home about the Constitution and how it came to be. "Encourage Constitutional Education in your School District." There is no web site, only a facebook group. I'm not doing this for money. I'm doing this because I love my country and want to preserve our American ideals. Obama isn't preserving American ideals at all, he's "fundamentally changing government" against the will of the people!

  • Jorge Banner

The faces change but fascism doesn’t. Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Chavez, soetoro, they are all the same. The speed changes. The flags change. Fundamentally, they are all the same. Their tactics don’t change. Their objectives don’t change. They all have wanted and want the same: enslaving others.

The speed and the extent of the adoption of fascism by America is very troubling.

Tea Party leader Michael Patrick Leahy has written a book based on Alinsky's work in which he "argues that today's conservative radical should follow the tactics of Saul Alinsky, but apply the morals and ethics of Martin Luther King."
The Los Angeles Times reported that conservative activist James O'Keefe found an "unlikely source of inspiration" in Alinsky and that O'Keefe "took to heart" Alinsky's principle to "[m]ake the enemy live up to its own book of rules."
On Glenn Beck, David Horowitz advocated for conservatives to follow "what Saul Alinsky argues" — i.e., "shout[ing] things whether they are true or not" and "stag[ing] a die-in" — in order to "catch the other side off guard" and win the health care debate.

  • badaboo

Oh Jamie , jamie , jamie ….you can take the Russian out of paranoid Russia , but you can't take the paranoia out of the Russian . And Pam Geller ? The screaching siren …what a match-up !

  • badaboo

The Atlantic's Marc Ambinder reported: "[I]n Kansas City, Missouri, a group of conservative organizers will conduct a most unusual training session. They will teach the 'Rules for Radicals' laid down by the god of community organizing, Saul Alinsky. The idea: learn to recognize the footprints of the enemy."
The Washington Independent's David Weigel has reported that "Alinsky has found a thriving and surprising fan club in the modern conservative movement," with "many 'Tea Party' activists say[ing] they're cribbing from Alinsky."

  • GlobalAwareness101

@badaboo, by all means move to another country that would quench your thrist for SERFDOM!

Do you even know what the T.E.A. Party stands for, what it represents? Exactly what the acronym is derived from TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY! The T.E.A. Party has no official leader so quit tryiing to misinform the public. We are ALL average hard working Americans who are standing together AGAINST an institution that is attempting to IMPOSE their agenda/ their will on American society. The T.E.A. Party is comprised of Americans from the West coast across this great land to the East coast. So yes, we may appear to be unorganized to many. But that's simply because we come from different backgrounds and dialects and beliefs. Nevertheless, we ALL agree on ONE THING that we are sick and tired of watching our government mismanage, misappropriate the tax revenue they TAKE from us! We are ALL sick and tired of being VIOLATED by our government! We had 8 years of this b.s. and now this moronic administration honestly THINKS we are going to ALLOW them to get away with the same damn thing?! HELL NO!

  • GlobalAwareness101

I would also like to add that the T.E.A. Party movement is not extreme right nor extreme left, everybody in this movment has converged to the CENTER. Those with extreme right and left tendencies remain outside of the T.E.A. Party movement.

It's the end of the line for every last CORRUPT POLITICIAN who have been enjoying a FREE RIDE on the backs of hard working Americans! To date, 12 Democrats and 12 Republicans have announced their retirements.

Before you scoff at this, read or hear a few testamonials from former youth when Hitler set his demonic ideas to work. And when you are as brilliant and as talented and hardworking and have the understanding that Pamela Gellar has you have my permission to screach if you choose. She is my first read every morning. I am honored to do so. Perhaps you should have been along with my Dad when Patton's 3rd army came upon the German prison camps. You might show a little more wisdom.
