Ahoy! Hoist the Hijab! This Ain’t No “Love Boat”

A new flotilla is getting ready to steam into Gaza, and this time, one of them has an all-female crew! The chick-boat, whose cargo will consist principally of loose screws, is called the Mariam.
Gaza has obviously become the hottest cruise destination of the season, and the girls getting it together for the chick-boat are not about to miss out on another big splash on the international social scene. Look at the attention those guys got on last week’s flotilla, the one dispatched by the Insani Yardim Vakli (Turkish for The Insane Garden of my Uncle.) That kind of press and publicity doesn’t just fall into your lap, you have to go where the action is, a happening place—like Gaza.
According to Israel National News.com, the flotilla is set to leave Lebanon, and the organizers, Christian and Muslim, are “tied closely to the Hizbullah terrorist organization, and openly profess their hatred of Israel,” which is a ready-made guarantee of shipboard camaraderie. The report continues:
Samar Al-Hajj, one of the organizers of the new ‘Miriam’ flotilla, is the wife of an officer…in the Lebanese Internal Security Agency who was jailed for four years on charges of involvement in the murder of former Lebanese PM Rafik Al-hariri.
Some weeks ago, Samar Al-Hajj and her husband Ali met with Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Hizbullah, who bestowed his gracious blessing on the chick-boat, asking that it be dedicated to the “wives, the mothers, the sisters of fighters and members of the party and its Beirut allies,” according to Judith Klinghoffer at PoliticalMavens.com, who calls Samar “a savvy Islamist,” and quotes her as saying,
We are all independent women who believe in breaking the [Israeli] siege on Gaza.
According to Israel National News, the Mariam is already overbooked: fifty women, thirty of them, as Samar herself reports,
Lebanese women from all ethnic groups, [whose] common denominator is, among other things, hatred for Israel.
She called the women the “new secret weapon against the ‘thieving enemy.’” Some of them, she claimed, have cancer caused by “chemical bombs” supposedly used by Israel in Operation Cast Lead.
One can only hope the Israelis are planning an appropriate reception for the ladies–something hot.
