Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston Rabbis Submit to Islamist Pressure

Among Boston’s Jews, Charles Jacobs is a hero, the very model of the perfect Jewish activist. To others, it seems, he is a pain in the neck.

Jacobs, you see, has stumbled into a nasty public-relations balagan (Israeli slang for “mess”).  He has collided with a wall of Leftist Boston-area rabbis who are  “shocked” and “appalled” at Jacobs.  So whence this uproar?

First, he has called attention to the fact that our governor, Deval Patrick, was caught on video paying an obsequious visit to Boston’s own $16,000,000 McMosque, the largest of its kind on the East coast.  Have a look at the video distributed by Jacobs.

A nice touch, that:

Grab onto the shovel, grab onto the gun, and the sword; don’t be afraid to step out into this world and do your job.

Also note the seven “recommendations” accepted docilely by Governor Patrick, and the cool $50,000 to sensitize the Boston police vis-à-vis the mosque. This loot was meekly pocketed by a representative of Attorney General Martha Coakley. (Coakley, you may remember, is the hapless Democrat who was trounced by Senator Scott Brown last November.)

Now, there is a huge back-story to this mosque. The details are available here in this article from The Phoenix, a progressive Boston newspaper.  Everything about the corruption accompanying the building of the mosque is here—the outrageous sale of city land worth millions to the mosque for $175,000 plus (unmet) promises of in-kind services; and all the other scary unanswered questions:

[A]bout why the city government went through so much effort…to facilitate a project that had no adequate funding, questionable community benefit, and uncomfortable associations with extremists.

And below, also on YouTube, is a detailed conversation between Jacobs and Bill Whittle of Pajamas TV, in which Whittle notes the “chilling national implications” of this  “firestorm.”  Jacobs calls attention to the “smiley face” of shari’a law, and stresses that behind the amicability lies the goal of this Saudi-funded mega-mosque: to radicalize Boston’s Muslims, particularly its youth.  Mosques have historically been used as “victory markers,” he warns, to celebrate Islam’s victory over the unwary infidel.

Who then facilitated Patrick’s visit to the mosque?  According to the Americans for Peace and Tolerance (APT) website, the event was sponsored by Islamic Relief, a founding member of the Union of Good (UOG). The UOG is an umbrella of Hamas-funding charities, which in turn is headed by Yusuf al-Qaradawi, spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood. (Another UOG member is the IHH, whose members were involved in the Gaza flotilla.)

Was Governor Patrick innocent of all this background?  Alas, no, because, according to their website, activists from APT personally handed the Governor a memo on Islamic Relief in January 2009.
