NBC Blames Conan For Its Own Stupidity

It’s bad enough that MSNBC is in the ratings toilet. Now the suits that run the peacock network are flushing their broadcast station ratings down as well. Their re-arrangement of the deck chairs on the Titanic, involving Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien and the whole Tonight Show franchise, is nothing short of astounding.
And who are the NBC suits blaming for not agreeing to help clean up the mess that they created? The guy with the funny-looking red hair – Conan O’Brien – who waited patiently to take over the Tonight Show for five years, giving up other lucrative opportunities along the way.
O’Brien would have built up his audience if given a chance, as Leno was able to do after a slow start hosting the Tonight Show. And O’Brien was handicapped by the weak lead-in that Leno was providing during the 10 o’clock hour. But the NBC suits were not willing to give him a chance. So now O’Brien has served notice that he is not going to take it anymore. Good for him.
How about kicking Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow off MSNBC and giving Conan two hours a night to launch a great political comedy show? Why should Jon Stewart have a monopoly on the cable political comedy market? I don’t know if Conan would even want this gig - probably not – but the NBC execs are too stupid to realize that they could kill two birds with one stone if they make the right offer to Conan. Spark some interest in the MSNBC line-up, now presided over by the left-wing dunderheads who are getting slaughtered by Fox News, while perhaps giving something to Conan that he might find intriguing.
Peacock network? I don’t think so. The turkey network is more like it.
