Trustee Chairman Chris Kennedy made an impassioned plea to the board noting that Ayres dedicated his book “Prairie Fire” to among others, Sirhan Sirhan, the man who murdered his father, Robert Kennedy.
I wonder whether there was a lot of hand wringing over this decision, or whether it was an easy one for the trustees. After all, they kept Ayers on their faculty for 20 years. At any point did they consider that it was a black mark on their university for having this pathetic little rich boy terrorist on their faculty? Did they ever think that? Apparently not. It makes me sick whenever a Chicago radio station or television station invites Ayers on their show to talk about education reform as if he should be treated as an authority and respected citizen. Yet it happens quite often here.
His wife and fellow terrorist Bernadine Dohrn still advocate for criminal juveniles at Northwestern University. These despicable excuses for human beings are given a status they don’t deserve at venerable American universities. This is how students get poisoned and brainwashed in the educational hell hole of this country. They are educated by Marxists who hate America, and in this case by two less than savory individuals who devote their lives to defending and strengthening the enemies of America.
It angers me that leftists who revere Bobby Kennedy have never had the guts to publicly confront Ayers for dedicating his book to this famous politician’s enemy. This is the type of weak and soulless loyalty to a revolting ideology that destroys the honor of men. How can any self respecting liberal who came of age revering the Kennedy’s not stand up for Bobby Kennedy by denouncing Bill Ayers? It shows the lack of character and cowardice of the Left to not denounce Ayers simply because he is one of them.
How long will they continue their silence? It is not enough to deny him emeritus status. The sin of omission is a mortal one when it comes to the trail of injustice that is Bill Ayers. The Left needs to publicly denounce his actions and strip him of any status in their movement. Will they ever have the courage to do so?
