Tavis Smiley is a moron

Aayan Hirsi Ali brings out the worst in stupid leftoid male public television interviewers.

Who will ever forget her disasterous (for him) interview with notorious Canadian dingbat Avi Lewis, who became such an international laughingstock after this broadcast that he had to decamp the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for… Al Jazeera. (My fellow Canadians reading this are now muttering, “Same difference…”)

Then Lewis asked Hirsi Ali for her “critique against Islam.” Ali, the epitome of poise, calmly responded that “Islam means submission to the will of Allah. A doctrine that requires the individual to become a slave is, in my view, is bad.”

“But aren’t there different kinds of Islam, just as there are different interpretations of Christianity and Judaism?” Lewis asked.

“No,” his guest replied.

Here Lewis began to unravel. Hirsi Ali’s calm, cool demeanor actually seemed to agitate him as much as her answers. Grinning for some unknown reason, Lewis insisted that “Evangelical Christianity has risen to the highest ranks of power” in the United States. “They shoot abortion doctors in the United States of America! Homophobia is rampant!” The “abortion doctors” trope is a favorite among the bien pensant elites, of course, but mass-murder, in this case, means that seven murders have been committed – and, as Hirsi Ali points out in her interview, they have all been prosecuted and punished — since Roe v. Wade in 1973. Islamophobia is “rampant”, too, in Lewis’s view. But not in Hirsi Ali’s.

Hirsi Ali: “There is no Islamophobia. It’s a myth.”

A thing of beauty…

Now it’s America’s turn to ask for the 80 bidillionth time, “WHY am I forced to pay for this crap again?”

For some reason, someone named Tavis Smiley has his own PBS television show, and you don’t. This week, he spoke to Aayan Hirsi Ali, who, naturally, expressed her view (born out of painful personal experience), that violence was rampant in Islam.

Here — I’m not making this up — was Smiley’s reply:

“Oh, Christians, every day, people walk into post offices, they walk into schools, that’s what Columbine is – I could do this all day long. There are so many more examples of Christians – and I happen to be a Christian. That’s back to this notion of your idealizing Christianity in my mind, to my read. There are so many more examples, Ayaan, of Christians who do that than you could ever give me examples of Muslims who have done that inside this country, where you live and work.”

I’d actually pay good money (voluntarily) to witness that, Tavis. Who else will join me in pooling our cash to pay Tavis Smiley to go on camera and “do this all day long”? Hell, put it on pay-per-view.

What a creep.
