The ‘global warming’ story you haven’t heard: part two

In January, I told you about independent journalist Donna Laframboise’s one-woman investigation of that Nobel-prize winning UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report on “global warming.”
She discovered, simply by using the report’s own built in search function, that some of the IPPCC report’s “peer reviewed scientific journals” were, uh, not.
Laframboise kept pulling the “peer review” thread. Today, she announces:
I counted the references cited in the final, published version of Chapter 11 and got a tally of 330. Of those, fully 139 – or 42 percent – were non-peer-reviewed grey literature.
At this juncture it’s worth remembering that the IPCC’s chairman, Rajendra Pachauri, has repeatedly claimed that the IPCC relies solely on peer-reviewed material to make its case. By now we know this isn’t remotely true.
I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for this story to hit the American mainstream media anytime soon. And when it does, I doubt Laframboise will get any credit. Mainstream media bores write off bloggers as “parasites” on their “hard work,” but increasingly, the opposite is true.
PS: here’s your Friday smile, from our “Why Nobody Reads Newspapers Anymore” file. Enjoy!
