Losing the Muslim World

Pages: 1 2

“It’s conceivable,” said then-presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2008, “that there are those in the Arab world who say to themselves, ‘This is a guy who spent some time in the Muslim world, has a middle name of Hussein, and appears more worldly and has called for talks with people, and so he’s not going to be engaging in the same sort of cowboy diplomacy as George Bush.’”

A 2008 Zogby International poll surveyed those in the “friendly” Arab countries of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Eighty-three percent viewed the United States “somewhat” or “very” unfavorably.

Enter President Barack Hussein Obama, a man with a keen and learned understanding of the Arab world — a man who promised to restore our image through outreach based on mutual respect and understanding. Bush, Obama believed, governed with a swagger and aggressiveness that alienated friends and hardened the hearts of enemies. To forge a “new beginning” and find “common ground,” Obama apologized for America’s “mistakes.”

Candidate Obama said Bush offended would-be allies in the “good war,” Afghanistan, by diverting resources to the “stupid” war, Iraq. After winding down the war in Iraq, Obama expected that allies committed to Afghanistan would stay and that new ones would join. He would close down the American “gulag,” Guantanamo, and reverse the offensive, civil rights-subverting policies of the Bush administration. He would fight not a “war on terror,” but an “overseas contingency operation.”

Ronald Reagan became president at 69 years of age, having lived long enough to shed naive notions of hope and change. Reagan called the Soviet Union an “evil empire” — and acted accordingly. He increased military spending, launched the Strategic Defense Initiative and, along with like-minded leaders British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and Pope John Paul II, helped consign the totalitarian regime to, as Reagan put it, the “ash heap of history.”

Jimmy Carter urged Americans to ditch our “inordinate fear of communism.” President Carter kissed Soviet Premier Leonid Brezhnev on the cheek to show his desire, as the Obama administration would put it, to “reset” the relationship. Brezhnev returned the kindness by invading Afghanistan, igniting a chain of events that essentially led to 9/11.

Obama’s first presidential meeting with a foreign leader was not with that of Great Britain — one of our two closest allies, whose prime minister stood down opposition within his own party to join the effort in Iraq. Obama met with Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, the leader of the Fatah party, to stress the importance of restarting the Israeli-Palestinian “peace process” — which Obama considered essential to moderate Arab and Muslim views.

Obama chastised Israel, the other of our two closest allies, for building “settlements” in east Jerusalem — even though, pre-Obama, the Palestinian leadership had already accepted construction in that area as part of any future deal.

Obama gave his first presidential sit-down interview to Al-Arabiya television network, where he asked “countries like Iran … to unclench their fist.” He hoped to deter Iran from obtaining a nuclear bomb, something candidate Obama called a “game changer” and “unacceptable.”

But those daily morning threat assessment briefings can change a president.

    The best scenario for Obama:
"Chamberlin ….. in his statement to the crowd: "My good friends, this is the second time there has come back from Germany to Downing Street peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Now I recommend you go home, and sleep quietly in your beds. "

Actually, I think you described Obama as being Bush on steroids, as when it comes to Islam and combating the jihad it is waging against not just the USA but all unbelievers the world over, both are about as clueless as clueless gets. For instance, we don’t need a Patriot Act to intrude in our lives, we need to outlaw Islam and ban and reverse Muslim immigration. Without any Muslims living in the USA, domestic Islamic terrorist attacks become practically impossible.

Indeed, since Islam besides being a religion is also a very radical form of totalitarianism that seeks world domination, it isn’t protected by the first amendment of the constitution as widely assumed and, therefore, should be outlawed altogether. We didn’t let millions of communists immigrate and infiltrate our countries during the Cold War because that would have been suicidal, and we shouldn’t let millions of Muslims immigrate and infiltrate our country today because that is likewise suicidal.

Moreover, the jihad against the USA and all unbelievers will continue forever as long as the Islamic world has oil wealth to finance and fund jihad. Hence, unless we want to endure an endless jihad forever, we better muster up the courage and the will to oust the regimes responsible for financing and funding it and confiscate their oil wealth. Otherwise, they will use their oil wealth to pursue jihad permanently.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what to do. It just takes a little common sense that’s all. It’s either we confiscate their oil wealth or they will use that oil wealth to finance and fund jihad permanently, which means forever. Hence, what does common sense dictate we do?

No one could have said this better or more clearly.

      ditto.

      Very well said.
Regrettably, not many understand the true nature of Islam, and consider it to be a legitimate religion as any other.
Islam is a vicious, aggressive, imperialistic ideology masquerading as a religion.
This masquerading grants Islam undeserved tolerance.

      Well said!!!

Obama's acts since election shows that he is a puppet of the Wall Street crowd wanting bailouts, paid by taxpayers, to cover stupid gambling losses and continuation of foreign policy. His end of the bargain is Demo party socialism.

I support the reinforcement of the Patriot Act, and the Drone attacks. Hey, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Now, let us keep our fingers crossed regarding the economy; an economy that Bush created and Obama is exasperating further.

I don't think the federal thugs will kick down my door for anything I write here. These are, after all, words not actions. So, under the heading "what the hell" here goes.

Just like Arizona is trying to do the job that the Federal Government refuses to do, (defending the border) there is something that we, the U.S. citizens can do about the malignant virus called Islam. We can take up arms and go after the Islamic enemies among us. They are truly a fifth column, bent on the destruction of our way of life. It's better to die on your feet than to live on your knees. Islam is pure evil and is at war with the west and all of that which we hold dear.

It's obvious that the occupant of the WH is in bed with the islamists and thus have become the enemy of our freedom. His actions show disregard and contempt for our Constitution. We, the people, must be ready to defend our beloved country. We can't do less than what our founding fathers did when they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. BO cancelled the Christian observance of the National Day of Prayer, but celebrates the break of the fast during ramadan…Actions speak louder than words!

Timely eradication of Islam is the only answer.

  • George

Yeah I'm sorry to report you are no closer to starting WWIII but FPM and David Horowitz can always dream.

    • Richard W.

George, you idiot, WWIII began decades ago. It's islam against the rest of the world. The sooner the non-muslims recognize that, come to their senses, and start to speak the truth, the sooner we can make some progress in taking out the muslim scum before they take out many more of us.

        AIN'T IT THE TRUTH!
