Axelrod Targets Republican Campaign Spending: Does He Really Want to Go there After 2008?

The Obama administration turned its mini-Goebbels loose on Sunday only to be blindsided by one of their own.

Lamestream media talking head, Bob Schieffer, dropped his jaw when Obama’s senior adviser David Axelrod accused Republicans of accepting foreign funds through the Chamber of Commerce. With barely three weeks left to go before the Democrats descend into the maelstrom, Axelrod appeared on Face the Nation with a straight face stating the following:

This issue of this special interest spending is very important, it’s never happened before that organizations are spending this kind of money. And the American people need to ask, ‘Why is the oil industry, Wall Street and others spending this kind of money to defeat candidates and elect others in this sort of secretive way?’ You know, that is a threat to our democracy.

The Chamber of Commerce does bring in around $100,000 a year in foreign dues. However, Axelrod came empty-handed to the CBS interview offering no proof that the organization accepted illegal funds from overseas when Schieffer challenged him on the details:

This part about foreign money, that appears to be peanuts, Mr. Axelrod, do you have any evidence that it’s anything other than peanuts?

Well, do you have any evidence that it’s not, Bob? The fact is that the Chamber has asserted that, but they won’t release any information about where their campaign money is coming from.

According to a Supreme Court ruling earlier this year,  organizations like the Chamber of Commerce do not have to reveal the sources of contributions they receive for political campaigns. And  Mr. Axelrod seems to forget that his boss became president under some very clandestine, nefarious financial circumstances. This from the Washington Post in October, 2008:

Sen. Barack Obama‘s presidential campaign is allowing donors to use largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor’s identity, campaign officials confirmed.

The Obama campaign raised $750 million  by opting out of the public financing system after breaking what the leftist media called a “non-promise promise.”

So it’s either tragic or hilarious to see Chicago ad-man Axelrod  questioning the financial sources of various organizations supporting Republican candidates.  When the same tactics are turned against him he whines like a schoolyard bully who has just met his match.

Mr. Axelrod and the rest of the Chicago thugs began this unrestrained spending game over two years ago to put their man in the White House. Now that Barack Obama has insulted the United States of America all over the world, ignored the will of the American people, appointed Marxists, Maoists, union crooks and sexual deviants to high positions and pillaged the U.S. Treasury, his cronies are grabbing at straw men everywhere to offset the backlash.

They have to know that if mainstream lapdog Bob Schieffer can see the hypocrisy and not hold back, then their fellow Democrats don’t stand a chance in November.
