New ACORN Chapters Change Names, MoveOn’s RNC Protest A Huge Flop

Just after my article in Human Events went to press saying six state chapters of ACORN have given themselves new names in order to disguise their connection to ACORN, investigators on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released a report saying the total is now actually 11 state chapters.
These diligent gumshoes deserve credit for their fine work.
Now we can add the following to the list of ACORN chapters now in disguise:
Louisiana >>> A Community Voice
Minnesota >>> Minnesota Neighborhoods Organizing for Change
Pennsylvania >>> Pennsylvania Neighborhoods for Social Justice AND Pennsylvania Communities Organizing for Change
Washington (state) >>> Organization United for Reform (OUR) Washington
The six chapters already discovered are Texas Organizing Project, Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, Missourians Organizing for Reform Empowerment (MORE), New York Communities for Change, New England United for Justice (Massachusetts) and Arkansas Community Organizations. (The congressional committee report referenced above states that New England United for Justice is the successor organization to both the Massachusetts and Connecticut state chapters. This may well turn out to be true but I cannot vouch for the assertion because I haven’t done my own investigation yet.)
Apart from ACORN’s state chapters, ACORN Housing, which operates nationwide, changed its legal name to Affordable Housing Centers of America. There is no word yet if ACORN Housing will continue to offer a drop-in legal clinic for pimps and prostitutes.
Multiple sources within ACORN have confirmed to me that ACORN plans to maintain a low-profile for a year or two and then reemerge under a new name. Bet the farm on it.
Meanwhile, MoveOn.org’s plan to protest outside the Republican National Committee Thursday to force Republicans to distance themselves from the alleged “hate” of the Tea Party movement turned out to be much ado about nothing.
Tim Mak reports only about 40 or so MoveOn and ColorOfChange (yes, one of the group’s founded by communist Van Jones) activists could be bothered to take time out from spending their welfare checks to show up for the scheduled protest. Not too impressive for a huge organization like MoveOn. (Photo above is from FrumForum.)
The whole idea behind the staged event was to help reinforce this false notion that Constitution-loving pro-limited government enthusiasts are eeeevil haters.
It is all part of the left’s push to delegitimize opposition to the socialist takeover of America. If you oppose the murder-in-progress of the American republic you are smeared as a redneck, teabagging, racist obstacle to progress — and you deserve what’s coming to you.
Let’s raise a glass to MoveOn’s continued failure.
