The Violent Left Accuses The Nonviolent Tea Party Of Violence

On Glenn Beck’s TV show, Internet news entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart reminded Americans that the civil unrest brewing in America has been generated by the left. Democratic lawmakers have consistently refused to take their constituents’ concerns about runaway government spending and ObamaCare seriously.

It really started to happen after the townhalls in early August [2009] that were an unexpected uprising of independents and middle Americans. It wasn’t even a tea party congregation [at that point]. It was people asking their representatives, ‘will you read the bill,’ ‘can you tell us what’s in the bill,’ and they werent’ prepared to answer any of the questions.

He noted that John Sweeney, who was then president of the AFL-CIO, launched the left’s war against what was becoming the Tea Party movement in a memo in August of last year that was published by the liberal Huffington Post. Falsely characterizing Americans concerned about out-of-control government as antidemocratic mobs, Sweeney wrote:

The principal battleground in the campaign will be town hall meetings and other gatherings with members of Congress in their home districts. We want your help to organize major union participation to counter the right-wing “Tea-Party Patriots” who will try to disrupt those meetings, as they’ve been trying to do to meetings for the last month. … (Remember the hooligans – many of them Republican Congressional staff – who harassed Florida vote counters in 2000? We can’t let that happen again!).

And remember it was no less than President Barack Hussein Obama himself who started encouraging left-wing thug tactics against his opponents during the 2008 presidential campaign:

I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors.  I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face.

Now the left is trying to draw parallels between the nonviolent Tea Party movement and Timothy McVeigh who blew up a federal building in 1995 killing 168 people.

Next the left will be calling Tea Party supporters Nazis.

Oh, wait…
