NewsReal: Left Illusions is now available on Kindle for $4.99. What do you, as an author of dozens of books, think about your books being available on Kindle? What do you think of the Kindle from an author’s perspective? Do you enjoy using your own Kindle? What books have you been reading on it?
David Horowitz: As an author, my greatest interest and reward is in having an audience. I’m sure other authors feel the same way. I love my Kindle though a serious deficiency is the limited number of books available. I would like to read Bellow and Roth and Faulkner on my Kindle for example, but their books are mostly unavailable. I have about 70 books on my Kindle at the moment. Being able to carry a library around has great advantages. My two most recent purchases were the novel Let the World Spin and Jonah’s Liberal Fascism. I have a hardback of Liberal Fascism but the cumbersomeness of holding a 400 page book has proven a big enough obstacle to getting through it that I decided to put it on my Kindle which presents no such problem. I have 50 novels of Tolstoy and all Dostoevsky’s novels (4.79 each), Josephus complete works, Pascal’s Pensees, Abraham’s Children (by John Entine), Inside of a Dog, The Meditations of Marcus Aurelius, and Animals Make Us Human as my current reading.
