Ground Zero Imam Exposed Off-Mic

Pages: 1 2

[Editor’s note: Credit is due to Pamela Geller for breaking this story and uncovering the interview.]

“Bridge builder” Imam Feisal Abdel Rauf, the Muslim cleric behind plans for the Ground Zero mosque, has now been exposed as a man of shrewd cunning and as a calculating stealth jihadist who supports the creation of an Islamic State, “The Ummah,” right here in America.

Thanks to Pamela Geller, an interview has how surfaced in which, after being assured that it has ended, Imam Rauf speaks “off-the-record” and reveals some intriguing plans and views that he has regarding America and the world.  Geller got the tapes of the interview from the UK and transcribed the whole thing from start to finish.

The interview, given on June 20th, 2006, sees Rauf speaking about his “game plan” for achieving an Islamic State without borders, which — in his mind — has previously existed and should have continued to exist, if not for Western interference in the last century. The Ground Zero mosque imam also discusses some of his other objectives which include: (1) manipulating U.S. foreign policy, (2) advocating  for Hamas and (3) getting “power” on his side to push back the opposing “interests.” In one part of the “post-interview,” he also boasts that he advised and influenced former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and that he has a blurb on the back of one of her books.

One can’t help from wondering: why is a “Sufi” cleric involved in such things?

Check out Rauf “off-mic” here:

To get a closer look at the psychology and true “game plan” of Imam Rauf, let’s take a closer look at some of the more intriguing quotes from him in this interview:

“9/11 was a watershed, was a major catalytic force in, in catalyzing the attention towards the issue of Islam, it’s presence in the West.”

This quote clearly reveals that the Imam sees 9/11 mainly as a major opportunity, a milestone in advancing Islam. In other words, he holds that the murder of 3,000 Americans is now facilitating the work of nice “moderate’ Imams like himself in America.

“How America should really engage with them [Hamas]…Helping her [Madeline Albright] understand the role of religion. She supported a Jewish State in the Middle East; why not support an Islamic State?”

When Rauf learned that the interview was over, he opens up regarding his advocacy for Hamas and how he advised and influenced former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright — with whom he claimed to have had constant contact. Rauf warns of the need to deal with Hamas lest we lose this organization to bad guys, like Syria or Iran, as if Hamas is not bad enough on its own. This is the same threat this ‘man of peace’ is warning America with — to never upset the Islamic street “or else.”

“We have designed our Cordoba Initiative to be designed, in other words, we have 5 major areas of our program. So we have foreign policy, is one area, you have communications is another area, you have education as the third area, for example, you have intra-Islamic issues is the fourth area, arts and culture is the fifth area.”

Why would Cordoba, which he claims to be a “cultural center,” have a “foreign policy” section that would develop “strategy action play”? What is it exactly he going to educate Americans about? Will he send Muslim coaches to American schools to teach sensitivity training to watch out for the feelings of Muslims? Or might he demand to educate American kids about how to pray to Allah?

“If the entertainment media, the news media, was broadcasted in print, describe and speak about the issues in a different way it can help change perceptions profoundly, because it’s the media, which helps shape perceptions to a great degree. So if we have strategic action plays, designed plays, in the area of foreign policy, in the area of healing the divide, and then you unpack and give up Israel. You then have to have your offensive coaching stuff, your offensive coach and defensive coach and your head coach, we have to have our Palestinian coach, etc.”

if nobody comments on this, or if the mainstream media doesn't cover this… well i guess it's not really news and i shouldn't worry so much about it then. wow… i feel better. no need to worry now. gee thanks MSM.

  • Jon

Sounds like this Rauf person is being reasonable and looking out for America's interest while also looking to participate in cultural discussions, and culture includes discussions about foreign policy, entertainment, food, and just about anything under the sun that is permitted under law.

    • kafir4life

      allahu snackbar, Jon. allahu snackbar!

Remember….there is no moon god but the moon god allah, and the pedophile murderer mohamad is his prophet….there is no moon god but the moon god allah, and the pedophile murderer mohamad is his prophet….there is no moon god but the moon god allah, and the pedophile murderer mohamad is his prophet.

      There……now I'm one too!!

    • tappin52

Why, Jon, what a good dhimmi you are already!

    • Growltiger

      You'll make a great dhimmi.

    • 12-String Infidel

      That's right….under Sharia law.

    • NickinVirginia

I can't believe that ANYONE would be so STUPID as to really believe what you posted, so I assume you were being sarcastic, right?

    • imtheo

Jon, I just listened to the 13 minutes of off the record conversation and you are correct. There is nothing controversial at all said by Rauf. He is a moderate who was used by the Bush administration and the Obama administration as an envoy overseas to promote better relations with the Islamic world. He is being used by people who are looking to divide people for their own personal, or political, gain. It's a disgrace.

    • aspacia

You might want to take a linguistics class. The football imagery is that of warfare, and domination of the West's secular laws. Try not to be so naive, and read some Islamic history; not the crap on MSM.

    • James

Have you been taking some drugs to make you see wonderful beautiful things.

  • Jesus

    wow…..this guy is bad news

  • Derrick Rasmussen

This video is astounding. The stealth jihadists have no shame at all, do they? Here's a video of Rauf's partner in stealth jihad, Tariq Ramadan, giving his views on the ground zero mosque:

    Interesting stuff.

    • aspacia

Tariq threatened a Palestinian Muslim woman living in Canada for calling him out regarding his distortions. Both are dangerous.

    • Adrian Cain

No, it's boring stupid parody without any purpose, except pehaps to make our side, against the mosque, seem like gullable bigots. There are more then enough ACTUAL hateful and insane pro-islam psychos without discrediting us with made up nonsense. I think you're a plant.

  • story

bad news¡¡¡¡, this mosque is a victory monument

  • jacob

Reading about this "gentleman" I wonder how come nobody in Congress questioned HILLARY about the $65,000 taxpayers money given to this Imam as travel expenses in order to gather funds for the slap in the face his supermosque project signifies for America ??

Now, was it money from her own pocket or was it OBAMA's orders ??

We know the abject leftist media will not question it but Republicans ??
Would it be that Republicans turned RINO already ??

    • stephencuz

It seems to me that they (Dems & Repubs) all piss in the same pot. I have heard but one official really take Islam to task and that was an Israeli Official in the UN. I too want an accounting of my tax dollars that were spent on this Imam. Do we also fund Voodoo Priests to travel and build bridges? What about reaching out to the Buddhists or Hindis? This is Sharia in action folks! After all Muslims "are the best of peoples." Apparently, the sooner we learn this the better the transition to dhimmitude!

      • Rachel

Never heard of Geert Wilders??? Look him up, he has plenty to say about Islam.

    • LarryH

Yesterday I read that Imam Rauf is a member/speaker at/ writer for the Council on Foreign Relations.

      • Rachel

Rauf addressed the CFR, but I haven't seen anything to suggest he's a member. However, I'm sure they are all in favor of him…because he will help them take down the USA, which is clearly their goal.…

    • michiganruth

unfortunately, Imam Rauf has been profiting off the American taxpayers for years, since the BUSH administration–yes, George W. Bush–sent him on a similar "goodwill tour." it is truly both Dems and Repubs who are complicit in the mess we're in today.

  • Cuban Refugee

The Head Coach? It seems that, in Imam Faisal, we have another malignant narcissist besides Obama working to establish global Sharia Law. Hillary Clinton, Madeline Allbright and Karen Hughes have many questions to answer regarding the Cordoba Initiative, and the proposed throwing of Israel under the bus. If the "journolists" who rule print and television media were not corrupt, this audio would be played continuously until the entire country's collective ears were ringing with Rauf's slimy, conspiratorial whisper. If this "off the record" conversation does not put the kibbosh on the mosque, what will?

  • Rob_Crawford

Islam is not a religion. It's a totalitarian political movement that has adopted the cover of religion.

And, yes, Frontpagemag *has* criticized the Westboro idiots. Including exposing them as life-long Democrats.

    • aspacia

Rob, much as we would like to define Islam as a cult, or totalitarian system, the legal definition is religion.

      • kafir4life

aspacia – Where can we get the list of legal religions in this country. You'd think there would be one based on what you said. If I belong to an organization called Reagonellas, and we believe in the return of the one true Ron, and we have to wear religious articles such as the "Mask of Ron" while out in public and not in the company of immediate members of our families, can we be a religion too? What criteria is used to determine which religions are "real"?

        • aspacia

It does not take much to create a religion and gain tax exempt status Remember the Moonies? Then there is Scientology which claims ET's are our ancestors. Regardless of what we believe, Islam is a cult, or a political totalitarian system, it is irrelevant, because Islam is a legally identified religion with tax exempt status.

  • Raymond in DC

Rauf's "strategy" is rather consistent with that of the Muslim Brotherhood and parallels that of Iran. They are all thinking *strategically*, with clear objectives and a plan to achieve those objectives. For Iran, those objectives include driving the US out of the Persian Gulf, defeating Israel, achieving regional dominance, and ultimately defeating the US. For the Brotherhood, it's the establishment of Sharia-dominated or at least Sharia-friendly states and ultimately the reestablishment of the Caliphate.

And our strategy? Well, we really don't have one. Yes, we want to prevent Iran from going nuclear, and Obama is obsessed with creating a Palestinian state. And of course we want to prevent the next terror attack. But beyond that? We don't have a set of clearly articulated objectives, nor a plan to achieve them. We therefore act only tactically, improvising from crisis to crisis. If our opponents are playing chess (or, for Rauf, football), we're not playing checkers but poker. We bluff, they call, we fold (cf. Iran). We bluff, they call, we fold (cf. Lebanon), always hoping to win back a little in the next round. And that pattern holds in regions far from the Middle East.

    • Stormdog

      Well said!!

  • Wordcrunch991

I don't see anything new or earth-shattering in his off-mike comments. Rauf is too smart to let anything outrageous fly. We know already that he fronts the Brotherhood and Hamas.

  • Stephen_Brady

Exactly how long have you been reading at FPM … 20 minutes?

  • pagegl

I guess you're not familiar with the Search function up near the top of the page. Most websites have them. They enable you, if you avail your self of their capabilities, to glean some info about the place before you make a total fool of yourself.

Other religions don't promote violence, murder of infidels, rape, misogyny or world domination as part of their mission to get to heaven. But hey, that's only a minor difference, right? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. And you are a naive fool, who lacks a survival instinct.

  • L. Banks

IThere is more at stake than freedom of religion with this Imam. This man and his wife got tax payer money for calling their apartment in New York a mosque. He has a development company and he was taken to court by the State of New Jersey on fraud and had to settle the case. He lost his license in that state. If your religion is money and power than this is the guy for you.

  • Bayoucoyote

    Konnichiwa Kafirs!

Let's pay attention to these 5 things & what they represent to the muslim world as divine guidance inspired from the "unquestionable" authority of the ko–ran.

“We have designed our Cordoba Initiative to be designed, in other words, we have """5""" major areas of our program."

Here's the Llama spit from premature mosquedabation (LOOK OUT) !:

The 5 pillars of Islam are:

1: Testimony (Shahadah or Declaration of Faith)
a.) "So we have foreign policy, is one area"

    2: Prayer (A$$ sniffin)
b.) "you have communications is another area," (Bribes to our "E – lite" leaders)

3: Payment of Zakah (specific charity) for the poor (only muzzies!)
C.) "you have education as the third area,"
    (ko-ranication = PHD in Stupidity(my title)from mecca.)

4: Fasting the month of Ramadan" – (WHEN THEY KILLED ALL THOSE KAFIRS 2 PARTY ANNUALLY)
d.) "you have intra-Islamic issues is the fourth area,"

5: pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj); if affordable ( Ask the saudis 4 $$ for the hate-fest)
e.) "arts and culture is the fifth area.”(Islam has NO culture – BS! Just death.)

    Its statment again for verification;
"So we have foreign policy, is one area, you have communications is another area, you have education as the third area, for example, you have intra-Islamic issues is the fourth area, arts and culture is the fifth area.”

Now, put yourself in a dark place where no light can be seen & do the Madrassa rock-a-way moves…..then….suddenly….you hear about this holi-man's plan which mirrors the 5 pillars of islam….as you rock back-and-forth…you are inspired to believe it's divine pillar-intervention from the all-liar allah!

The kafirs are too dumb to figure this out!!

    Quick!! Let's rape a goat!

    Got it Kafirs?

Good. Now go and smite a koranimal.

    • JesusFreak

      Well spoken.

  • surfrgirl

while Westboro is a VILE, dispicable bunch of God's mis begotten they are not trying to kill us or take the entire country over, These extremeist muslims of which this man is part of needs to be eradicated! Either deported or "Eradicated"

  • firebrand

This evil bastard needs to be stopped, as well as anyone who cooperates and helps him.

  • Habu

Why do we express such surprise abouut Islams assault on the West? Since this nation began it immediately had to deal with the prime mover of Islam, dar al-harb , war with everyone not Muslim.

Our politicians provide us with chloroform in print and speech attempting to sanitize what is the most violent ideology in play today. Sure they have a plan. They want to kill infidels.

Now it appears Iran will get the bomb and certainly Israel will not live under threat of annialation so nuclear war is inevitible. Manchild Barry Hussein Obama has done everything but don the raiment of a sheik .

We face some very tough thugs. Does this nation have the leadership to sail the ship of state into a confrontation? It doesn't appear we do.

  • Dan

Never, never again you pig, we will burn your ground zero mosque to the hell! I hope this pig is killed by Sunday! Die Imam Feisal Abdel Rauf, DIE!

  • Phil

So now you want to estaablish a Muslim state in America. I say stuff it where the sun son't shine and as for shira law, No one will take me alive to behead me or any members of my family you pig.

  • Bayoucoyote

His use of the football analogy is simply for finding a common ground with those Kafirs he's fooling to bridge a gap (islams' destructive armies way across into Dar-Al-Harb) and build rapport (Solid ground from which to attack us), that's all.

Pay attention to that use of verbiage from all of these koranimals & understand why they so carefully picked it (Word De'jour) for its use against those whom "feeling" their position matters.

    Common ground….common man…rapport…eyes wide shut.

  • Frank Lombardi

Imam Rauf is also a Sufi Moslem like Fethullah Gulen who was exiled from his native Turkey for trying to over throw a secular government. Gulen lives in the USA with his $25 billion empire created from schools, media, politics, military and police. This is the same inflitration they plan in the USA.
Rauf can go to hell I don't want to "engage" Hamas and I don't look at our country as a game of football. These people were not EVEN born in the USA they hate us and want to destroy our social structure to become a s'haria law society.
Rauf is on salary with our government as an Islamic advisor, we own an Arabic TV station in Virginia (Al Hurra) WHY are we putting millions $$ into friendship with the Moslems and paying money at a time when so many of us are out of work?
Rauf is a flake and I strongly believe Gulen is backing this mosque as they are both Sufi Moslems which claim to be the softer side of Islam. They are both flake and out to make money and a name for themselves. Both are dangerous.

  • yonjuro

9/11 was the saracen 's greatest victory over the West since the 12th century. There is no possible reason to build a mosque at Ground Zero other than to rub our noses in it.

These monsters are doing the "happy dance" on our graves, with "useful idiots" like Obama and Bloomberg providing the music.

  • Nick Shaw

Is it just me or does anyone else feel the comments on this story have taken an unnatural and suspiciously harsh tone than we have come to expect here? Am I seeing some sort of lefty / Muslim campaign to be able to point to FPM as a hotbed of unhinged irrational hatred? "See, just look at the comments you find there!" kind of thing that we point out at the left's blogs. Ahhh, it's probably just me getting more and more paranoid (if that's at all possible) as the left's plans begin to unravel and they get more determined and vicious in their attacks. Not to mention Islam's veil is being pulled back at the same time with the same kind of reaction. I don't know but, I suggest we keep an eye open for more of this to come! BTW, just so I'm not understood, there is a difference between an irrational hatred and a rational suspicion and distrust, the latter shown by most regulars at this site.

    • Sashland

Very cogent observation and speculation; I don't recall reading any death threats here previously. It would be a very easy disinformation campaign – unless they leave a little ID number the site can track back to its source…

  • aspacia

Actually, yes they have. This church should be closed and its members tried for terrorist threats.

The difference is, Islamists have murdered many thousands and these members have not

  • Captain Steve

Islam is evil. They want to convert you or kill you. Take your pick, or be prepared to defend yourself.

  • aspacia

And you will be executed for doing so, make him a martyr, and the mosque definitely will be build.

I'm interested in hearing the parts that were cut out of the tape. There are some very sloppy edits there.

Excellent idea – we SHOULD shut down a church that espouses killing police officers. Incitement to civil insurrection is illegal.

    • Ret. Marine

Let me first let you know you are onto something very few in the leadership roles will go backwards to not let you in on what is happening. Now having said that, what makes you think We the People are not planning for the demise of this ideology and those who openly advocate, finance, and approve of its tenets. O yea of little faith.

That analysis of the speech was so Obtuse , it's ridiculous. people hear Intrigue and conspiracy when there is nothing but what is being presented. That web page is paranoia in print. The man is talking about this entire situation as a Chess / Football analogy. That every action we take is living and always in motion that for every move made there are counter moves being devised and made. IT is a game of politicians , too much of the rhetoric is aimed at simplifying the paradox of situational analysis and making it seem all too simple when it is precarious from point to point and from issue to resolution.

maybe if people actually listened and use the great education we are privileged to have here we could hear the finer points. Also @ 11 Minutes into the recording he says its okay to air the ENTIRE interview EXCEPT what Madeline Al-bright was writing in HER book.

Did you happen to listen to the Rest of the Interview? This is just more hate mongering and pandering to the lazy amongst us , too busy being angry and hateful to pay attention to the slight of hand by commenters, like the majority of you on here and this blog, I find it funny when it was getting to a point of actually explaining he disdain for teh current state of the Islamic nations it was cut off.

  • posse101

i was kidding. you can kid can't you? of course it's serious. it's as serious as an inoperable (malignant) tumor metastasizing inside the gut off America. is that serious enough for you? keep fighting the good fight. i will too. good luck to both of us. and to the country.

    Some more bad news guys:

the GZ mosque WILL be built!

What the majority of americans want is inconsequential.

  • Frank Lombardi

    Funky Joe;
The GZ will not be built without a FIGHT you can take that to the bank.
many things can happened between now and any ground breaking construction. Construction workers are not exactly behind this mosque being built they will have to bring in HB-1 Visa workers and they are not union or will follow OSHA which can shut the construction down.
Imam Rauf is a flake and a slum lord, he owns property that was condemmed by the US government and uses our funds to upgrade them for section 8s. this is the islamic dhimmi system using infidels money to shove it up our a**.
trust me, it ain't over yet.

  • Collin Harvey

I don't understand why they feel they need to overrun the world. Where is "tolerance" on their side. Leave us alone. Isn't it bad enough that they can't get their own countries straight? Now they want to come over here and ruin ours? Oops, my mistake, it's already ruined. The muslims don't know that they're playing with a broken toy.

  • timetoimpeach

If you are a leftist, here to paint FPM as propaganda, please research. I recommend starting with "The Religion of Peace" site, which lists the thousands of attacks by musliims since 9-11. (Much of their work, by the way, is done thru stealth jihad).

It's too important to shrug off with a glib remark. After the first site, go to "Jihad Watch" and "Brussels Journal." Read about Europe. Educate yourself. If it makes you feel better, we aref actually fighting "sharia law," not muslims. And if stonings and amputations don't wake you up, read the entire history in "The Legacy of Jihad" by Andrew Bostom and then Andrew McCarthy's "The Grand Jihad" or Perry's "Muslim Mafia," and find out about the Muslim Brotherhood.

This isn't politics. This is a real, deadly plan to take over the Western world.

I think he said "Jesus quoting" Dueteronomy.
Yeshua,(his REAL name) must have quoted Dueteronomy,(which He did often as He was a Rabbi & there was no new testament yet) but Rauf doesn't say WHAT He quoted.
