Tax-payer Funded Museum Portrays Jesus in Sex Act

What would the Muslim world do if there was art work hanging in American museums showing a man giving oral sex to their prophet Mohammad? How long would it take before that building was bombed or the artist was burned in effigy if not killed? How quickly would our media and politicians attack the artist and rip the image down from the walls of the tax-funded museum? How many talking heads would spin about the injustice of such hate-art?
Now what would happen if the painting was of Jesus in the pornographic position instead of Mohammad? You don’t have to imagine. It is happening right now in Colorado. Standford professor Enrique Chagoya has created a lithograph called, “The Misadventures of the Romantic Cannibals,” showing the Christian Savior in a homosexual sex act. The ‘art’ piece is one part of a series called “The Legend of Bud Shark and His Indelible Ink.” It is currently being featured in a publicly funded museum in Loveland, Colorado.
What is the reaction to this filth? Not much. In fact, the so-called artwork was shown in the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art for five months and there is no mention of complaints. Only now that the work has moved to Loveland, Co. are people starting to complain – including the gallery owner.
It is visual profanity. It disgraces the God of all creation. – Linda King, gallery owner
Others have begun to protest the work asking that tax money no longer be used to fund the museum. The exhibit is supposed to stay in Loveland until November 28th, but some people on the city council hope it gets removed immediately. One city councilman told the Denver Post he is trying to get the council to act against the pornographic piece, and one Councilwoman said:
This is a taxpayer-supported, public museum and it’s family-friendly. This is not something the community can be proud of. – Donna Rice
The story, so far, has received little media attention and no national political attention. Todd Starnes, a reporter with Fox News is one of the few national reporters to write about the topic and his article tipped off NewsReal to the story.
