Transcending the Becklash

Pages: 1 2

Liberal icons have delivered the same kind of message in the past, including the President of the United States. Barack Obama was elected with the support of independent voters who believed Obama when he said that he would reach out to Republicans, unite the nation, and end partisan politics as usual in Washington. That hasn’t happened, but it’s clear that this ideal still deeply resonates in the American heart, more these days than ever. So, why shouldn’t liberals welcome Beck’s conciliatory words? Why shouldn’t they reach out to grasp his hand and join him in affirming the great things about America that everyone should value? Those are rhetorical questions of course. We know why liberals wouldn’t embrace even these simple, shared truths: because they fear and loathe the man who is delivering the message. Blinded by hatred, the Left turned the rally into something it wasn’t, but that they had decided beforehand it must be: a partisan political gathering with racist undertones.

Consider a column penned by Dana Milbank that ran in the Washington Post on Sunday. Ignoring everything that the rally was actually about and anything that Beck himself said during it, Milbank instead mocked Beck’s views on civil rights and accused Beck of being a racist:

I was reminded of Beck’s affection for deception as he hyped his march on Washington — an event scheduled for the same date (Aug. 28) and on the same spot (the Lincoln Memorial) as Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic march 47 years ago. Beck claimed it was pure coincidence, but then he made every effort to appropriate the mantle of the great civil rights leader.

Beck as the fulfillment of Dr. King’s dream? And you thought “War of the Worlds” was frightening.

And again, later in Milbank’s column:

Finally, Beck updated the meaning of the civil rights movement so that it is no longer about black people; it is about protecting anti-tax conservatives from liberals.

It’s worth noting that Beck’s allegedly “racist” rally in fact attracted a number of black supporters, including Martin Luther King’s niece Dr. Alveda King. She recounted that part of her uncle’s message that was focused on: “bringing everybody together, not dividing.” Such words stood in stark contrast to those uttered by the Reverend Al Sharpton who used his competing rally at Dunbar High School to mock and insult Beck and his followers.

George Soros’ Beck-obsessed minions at Media Matters for America worked overtime on Saturday to get their digs in early. Their take was “unique” to say the least, bearing no relation to anything that anyone who watched and listened saw or heard. Consider this bit of so-called Research from MMFA:

Much of Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” weekend — and the run-up to it — focused on one thing: Glenn Beck. Beck introduced a Beck-sanctioned clergy group that he claimed represented “180 million people,” repeatedly associated himself with Martin Luther King Jr., made outlandish claims about the impact of the events, and was praised as “one of America’s most trusted and honored citizens.”

And MMFA wonders why nobody outside of the fringe Left takes them seriously. There seems to be some kind of death-wish at work among liberals as the November election draws near. It’s clear that more and more Americans want Democrats to move toward the center and that failing to do so will be a disaster for the party in this election cycle. Yet, sneering, hateful paranoid liberals like Milbank and MMFA keep dragging the party back to the far Left. Glenn Beck’s rally represented an ideal opportunity for liberals to seem a little less extreme, but they can’t bring themselves to do it. Nobody expects them to join the Glenn Beck fan club, but would it really have been so hard to join him in affirming that God, country, and character matter? Apparently so, and their intransigence simply makes them look more petty, self-absorbed, and small-minded than ever.

Beck speaks about God and New York papers, report it as if Glenn Beck is stealing the MLK speech. If it was an Islamic event, it would be praised as a great event of peace and understanding.

    God help us all.

Do you think if we slapped them they'd snap out of it?

I was deeply moved by the rally. What a great feeling of having all tuned to the same frequency. Kind of reminds me of when we pulled together just after 9/11 attack. There were American flags everywhere. That is until the leftist decided to pull Americans apart. Actually they are to be pitied and prayed for, that God may help them out from their misery and their hate for the goodness that is still among us. The President and State Dept just recently denigrated our country and people in their report to the UN making America appear disgustingly mean because we want to have our laws obeyed and maintain our sovereignty. Oh yea. We do need Divine guidance to show us the way out from this mess created by the so called Progressives.

    • rebecca martinez

CW …your words speak to many of us that also feel, we are losing this great country of ours Knowing that others believe it will take God''s grace to change hearts and minds…What ever happen to that unity? Let make 9/11 a day that unites all Americans and abandons political parties.

"There seems to be some kind of death-wish at work among liberals as the November election draws near. …sneering, hateful paranoid liberals like Milbank and MMFA keep dragging the party back to the far Left. This may sound alarmist, but basically, this is my greatest fear right now. Leftists know that the country rejects the extremism they've offered up under Obama, assuming a mandate that they were not granted by the majority of the American people, who were simply tired of the GoP and the Bush administration. If the Left realizes that what they are doing will lead to massive turnover in November, and a lame-duck presidency for the next two years, I fear that they are ahead of us yet again, and have factored that loss into their overall plan for overthrowing the Constitution. In a nutshell, they want a GoP ascendance in order to infuriate already angry and impatient progressives, We have already gone long down the road of scapegoating by the left, identifying conservatism with fascism, and Nazi-ism. This is mind war in the extreme on their part, I'm afraid. I fear we've passed the point of no return and the left feels that they are nearing the moment when it is time to proclaim their Parisian commune, storm the Bastille, and liquidate the Kulaks all in one grand frenzy.

I hope I am merely paranoid.

    • jbtrevor

      I hope so too!

    • stephencuz

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't coming to get you! I hope you're wrong but too many scenarios point in this direction. I'm figuring on Martial Law being declared over food availability when hyperinflation hits and they suspend the Constitution. Take it a step further, Illegals get a Presidential Pardon (he has the authority) and given citizenship. Everyone gets what they want. He tightens the border after that so theose against "amnesty" settle for what they could get (secure border), Advocates get amenst, and now he has 12 million new voters and is re-elcted. How about going even further. He gets tehm to amend the rules and ends up PResident for Life or takes a position of Wolrd President (since all those International Treaties must be enforced and governed).__See? You're not the only one fearing for our future.

Both sides demonize and use the 'Hitler Quotient' . At the Beck rally, the all-to-familiar flyers proliferated of Obama with the Adolph mustache. So I wouldn't complain about the Left having a lock on it. There was also an article that counted how many times Beck had equated Obama with Hitler over the last two years or so. It was in the dozens (how many times have your heard the opposite on the mainstream media?)Moreover, David Horowitz is actually the king of distortion and sleaze attacks. One of my favorites was an anti-war rally against the Iraq invasion, which was notable for being one of the most demographically diverse in recent history. Of course David chose, without explanation, to title his diatribe "100,000 Communists Rally against the war" (that's a rough paraphrase of the post"). Silly by all standards, but he doesn't care about accuracy.

      • Guest

Jonah Goldberg's book "Liberal Fascism" has a chapter on Hitler's rise to power to a large extent on his impassioned, if vacuous, rhetoric to a country desperate for leadership. The similarities in the appeal of Hitler to Germans and Obama to Americans is remarkable. And Goldberg's book was published well before Obama had become a national figure – fact it was a foregone conclusion at the time that Hillary would be the MarxiCrat nominee for president.

  • tagalog

Katie Couric reported "hundreds of thousands" of people at the Restoring Honor rally. Today's news radio reported one D.C. park official saying the crowd was estimated at 1.7 million. I remember the photos well of Martin Luther King's speech as well as anti-Vietnam War rallies at the same place, and shots of numbers of people surrounding the Reflecting Pool, and the Glenn Beck rally looked at least as large as the big antiwar rallies if not noticeably larger.

  • Cat K

I believe Beck is more interested in "restoring" America and its honor than he is in "transforming" America as you say. In fact, ""Fundamental transformation" are the president's words and his obvious, not to mention, ominous goals.

  • Edip Yuksel

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The public can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

I couldn't of said it better.

    • foxy lady

You are to be pitied. Get your head out from where the sun does not shine.

  • voipexperts

Glenn Beck is right about one thing. Obama is trying to transform America from the top down. America can only be restored from the bottom up. In other words, We The People must become involved and take it back. We still have the power to do so unless the point-of-no-return has been reached before election day (martial law).

I watched Beck's show at the Kennedy Center on Friday night. It was awesome. Not a word about politics. Just impressing on America to turn to the Almighty. Saturday's event was beautiful. Of course, not much was said about it by the mainstream media. Not much at all. They're scared.

    • antidemoniclib

They DO sound scared, don't they? It's like when you put a crucifix in a vampire's face or when one sees sunlight. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

  • Samurai Hit Woman

I really believe that Beck has the answer to all these well founded fears.

We must return to God and the high morality of Judeo-Christian values. As the Frenchman said, I can't spell his name or remember the exact quote, "America is great because she is good".

Or as the Bible says, to paraphrase, "if my people will return I will heal their land".

    • antidemoniclib

Yes, it's true. Even stupid little trivial things like going to school board meetings and making them change the school calendars from saying, "Winter Break" to "Christmas Break", and Easter break instead of Spring Break. Little things like that will help us get it back. You see, those things seem trivial, but if we don't speak up, the left wins. Silent no more!!!

    • Reason_For_Life

The Frenchman that you are referring to is Alexis de Tocqueville. Unfortunately, that quote is totally bogus. It does not appear in any of his available works in English. Perhaps there is an expert here on 19th Century French political writers who is familiar with de Tocqueville's untranslated works and can verify the quote. If so, he will be the first to do so. Many have tried.

    • Lori

Amen! Oh Lord God Heal our land and forgive us of all our wrongs.

  • sue805

When liberals can't support their position with rational discussion, they always attack, demonize and use hate to try to demean people. Thank God for Glenn Beck…the rally was definitely awesome…seeing all those people who came together, just from the words of one man. Boy, the liberals had BETTER be scared. COME ON NOVEMBER!!

    • Fiddler

Yes, they are the inventors of LABELS. Chris Matthews et. al sneer and call them "Tea Baggers", some of them want to call a mass of humanity "racists" (Jenine Gerafolo). It's as though some people never left the playground.

  • Kim

I would like to ask the critics of the rally two questions.
If the date of 8/28 and the place were so important to you, why have you not had a standing reservation for it at any point in the last 47 years? Not even once?
Second, for those who were so deeply offended by Beck 'hijacking ' civil rights, 'destroying' MLK's dream, 'detracting' from his message, and his attempt to 'nullify' the sacrifices of these people, why exactly again are you on the side of Muslims building a mosque on the sight of Ground Zero where radical Muslims slaughtered 3,000 Americans? Are you just politically blind or absolutely hypocritical?

    • antidemoniclib

You second point is spot on!! Excellent!!!

      Thank you, Kim.

  • rturpin

What so often makes the things Beck says outrageous is that they are false to history. And purposely so, for the purpose of pushing his ideology. Someone like that is the last who can stand up and try to be reasonable for a day, under the premise of "restoring honor." He first needs to develop a little honor of his own.

    • MKS

Would you like to post an example or two to support this assertion?

Until you do, many of us will have to consider it a baseless assertion.

    • USMCSniper

You said nothing. You regurgitated nonsense. Your post was the equivalent of "Mommy I sure showed him I throwed mud on him. So there."

  • Isabel Isherwood

If I have any complaint about Glenn Beck it is this: I applaud the fact that he rose out of the gutter he had created for himself and has transended his past beyond his imagination. Kudos to that……however I have to take issue with one thing that he does that I am beginning to find beyond annoying. I am a lover of The United States and the freedom it stands for. I can wrap myself in the flag better than most folks. My heroes are our Founding Fathers. I love the constitution and the individual freedoms it represents with our Bill of Rights. I recognize that this nation was founded by guys who believed in the Judeo-Christian beliefs of our forefathers. I however am neither a Christian or Jewish. I am an Atheist and for quite a while I have gotten the feeling that where Glenn Beck is concerned, that Atheists need not apply when it comes to being on the same side that he is. As a Libertarian I shall continue to love my country, fight to maintain freedom, wrap myself in the flag when the occassion calls for it and continue watching Glenn Beck even as he displays antagonism against those of us who are unbelievers. I would wish him to acknowledge that Patriotism doesn't always wear the mantle of religion.

    • DBH

I have not heard any disparaging or antagonist remarks from Beck toward atheists, or for that matter any remarks at all toward them or non-belief. The founders clearly had a belief in and a reliance upon God as they referenced the Creator directly. The Constitution, you love, declares that our freedom and rights (that you also love) are sourced in Him. The life change in Beck that you applaud, Beck himself credits to God rather than to himself. Beck is doing exactly what our church leaders should of been doing for the last 20 years….directing us back to God who gave us our freedom, our structure of government, our fundamental values and a moral foundation for our culture. Maybe what you are feeling is not antagonism at all….maybe God has is trying to get your attention because he is seeking a relationship with you.

      • Isabel Isherwood

I do not feel any antagonism because I am an atheist. I feel that we are being left out of the equation because of our lack of religious belief. Believe me when I tell you that I am very comfortable in the decision I made years ago and all I ask is that I be accepted as you are accepted without making any distinctions one way or another.

        • DBH

I can see how you feel that way, but I don't think he is leaving atheists out. Much of his return to God message is about returning to a society of values, morality, integrity and character (honor)….something I could not agree with him more about. Since many people identify with these characteristics being sourced from God, God is a central theme of Beck's message. O'Reilly asked Beck specifically about atheists tonight and Beck referenced a friend of his Penn Jillette as an atheist with good character and certainly was accepting / inclusive of him. So no need to feel excluded, but based on your beliefs, you may find yourself rolling your eyes often with all the talk of God. We Christians will keep praying for you though :)

    • Lillith66

Isabel, I have to agree. I have also got that impression from him…

      • Isabel Isherwood

Thanks Lilith66 I was beginning to feel alone out there. DBH seems to feel that I am feeling antagonism because God is trying to get my attention because he wants a relationship with me. Puleeze. I refuse to try and turn any believer against their beliefs. I just wish that believers would accept that one can be an atheist without experiencing the "emptiness" that they think we feel. We don't feel empty. We feel quite fulfilled in our lives and don't feel the need to try and make others feel like us.

        • Lillith66

Folks seem to think that you cannot be both an Atheist and a Conservative….I wonder why that is. It is almost as if they find us deficient in some way..

          • Mrflashrifle

That is quiet possible, i.e., to be an athiest and conservative. I was athiest for a long period of my life and found there to be no incongruity with reason and logic, and universal truths (even absent a god) and the Conservative belief system.

          • DBH

Would you put yourself in the Libertarian or Conservative camp? From my observations, until this recent alliance between Libertarians and Conservatives resulting from the growth of government, run away spending and foreign policy, most Christian Conservatives personal encounters with Atheists have been from the Left. Then you have all the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century with their atheist / anti-God positions which were all on the Left. Christian Conservatives in the last 30 years have isolated themselves from the culture and politics in many respects. Now that they are re-engaging and their perspective and experiences tell them that Atheists are on the Left, it is not that they find deficiencies in Atheists, it is just somewhat of a paradox that they are finding these shared values as they emerge from their bubble.

          • blott

Isabel: DBH is spot on. It is not that we are forcing you out of our camp. It is that atheists are more attracted to the left because of ITS non belief system or a belief in government.

Athiests attack Christians and Catholics for their beliefs; athiests attack those traditions that made the nation that shining star on the hill; athiests attack the founding fathers for their praise of a diety especially God.

So of course you are left out from our camp. You made the choice to side with the devil that is the progressive/Dem/marxist party. And just who are the great athiest leaders of the past 200 years? Murderers all.

It is not that athieism is incongrous with conservativism, it is that athieism is more congruous with progressivism.

          • Lillith66

I actually disagree that the left does not have a belief system, it's just their "religions" either revolve around a despotic ideologue, or ideology, or like the green movements worship of the environment above a god or humans. I find the left incredibly "religious" in that way…they are positively evangelical. Just look at the global warming nutters, they go as far as to call non AGW believers Heretics. I would far prefer living in a right of center Judeo-Christian world than a leftist, marxist one. I am a Reagan Conservative on many issues with a bit of Libertarian sprinkled in. I just don't happen to believe in a God.

          • DBH

I agree they have a belief system….the truth is that the Left are religious fanatics – they just do not recognize their own faith. Their belief is in a romantic idea of an impossible dream…man-made paradise on earth (whatever flavor). Religious belief is the only way to explain a disregard of the historical tragedies in it's wake; the justification of subversion, lies and even criminal acts to achieve it's ends; the denial of truth, reason and facts placed before them; hatred for and demonization of their enemy (any non-believer); and contempt for the very people they claim to be helping….the source of their self proclaimed nobility and moral superiority that they hold in such high regard. From my Christian perspective, they have believed and embraced Satan's ultimate lie….that they can be as God.

On the God question…it is harder for me to not believe there is a God. The fundamental fact that anything even exists, much less order on a massive scale across the expanse of the universe, tells me there is a God. From there the journey of figuring out who he is begins.

          • Lillith66

Very succinctly put …They are hateful in the extreme, which is amazing as they tout themselves as the truly compassionate. You just have to look at the DDT issue, more children have died in Africa due to it's banning than in all the great wars combined…but they don't see it….Their blindness to reality is truly stunning……you should read the books..Green Hell and one about PETA…I think it,s called "A Rat is a Dog is a Pig is a Boy" It will make you want to rip your own face off in frustration. Obviously I don't do the Satan thing, but I agree they have embraced a lie.

          • DBH

You are right about their hatefulness and it is impossible for them to see it. The inconsistencies and blindness just blow my mind….more evidence of the underlying religion.

I saw the BookTV edition of "A Rat is a Dog is a Pig is a Boy" and placed it on my reading list. It is crazy how the same delusional theme runs through all of these agenda items of the Left.

          • Lillith66

You should read some Theodore Dalrymple, he is a prison doctor and comments on the decline of western values. Although he is also an Atheist, he sees the decline of Western Culture as a result of the turning away from Judeo-Christian Golden Rule basics…I totally agree with him, and find I read his books over and over.

I in no way hate moderate Christians and Jews…am not sure if there is such a thing as moderate Islam however, and the embrace of Islam by the Left..pretty much confirms that view for me. Perhaps I am a little different to most Atheists but I am seeing a huge shift from the left to the right among them. I think that if, as most atheists do, we are supposed to live our life rationally..then you would have to agree that the left are the more dangerous, and that their ideology is deeply flawed and irrational, and as shown by history, ultimately causes total ruin……idiots.

          • DBH

Thanks for the recommendation…I will certainly check out his books. I just finished A World Turned Upside Down by Melanie Phillips, who is an agnostic, and she says the same thing. She also documents the disintegration of rational thought, which gives clarity to those of us who want to live rationally and want to see it restored….I really enjoyed the read and often found myself sitting there thinking about what I had just read.

I did not imply at all that I thought you hate moderate Christians or Jews…or anyone for that matter. I hope you did not take it that way. I agree with you about the moderate Islam question….there is so much subversion, anti-Americanism and reports of Sharia law being pushed by some in the religion that it casts into question the entire religion. I see the American attitude as a whole changing rapidly and this is a troubling trend if there are in fact Muslims who embrace what it means to be American.

I see a big trend of those who want to live rationally moving to the right….conservatism is after all conserving what works as proven by historical trial and error. I just hope that some of those awakening conservative Christians, who I am a part of, do not chase them back to the Left by being judgmental or by regarding them in a way that is perceived as "deficient", which you stated above. If you get that feeling from any of them, please understand it is probably because they are perplexed by the fact that they share common ground with an Atheist….they might even be a little afraid of you. Please don't take offense to this, as it is their flaw, not yours. There will be much culture shock experienced as they re-enter society from their bubble.

          • Lillith66

I must say I don't get that feeling from you, but I have had bad experiences, I just recently had a Extreme Christian nutter stalk me on face book…very scary. I am very concerned about the future of our society and our freedoms and hope that we can put our differences aside and join together to fight those who would destroy us…after that, we can take up the sparring again….lol.

Just look at the great things Ayaan Hirsi Ali is doing …she is an Atheist and the left absolutely despise her…l have never seen so much hate….and she is truly a hero to our cause…..actually to the cause of humanity.

I am not a person who offends easily, I have a rhino skin……I like to hear your opinions, they are honest but without criticism…rare that…Afraid of us…wow that is funny, some of them scare the crap outa me..I am a Jewish girl that spent 12 years in a convent (best education in the area…very important to my parents, but i don't think they thought it through too well…lol) so I know from scary religious people……:-)

Well I think we live in interesting times, here is Aus the political system is explosive…we are about to be destroyed by a labor Greens coalition and we all seem to be sleep walking to our own destruction…It is soo frustrating…..really!!! did aliens land while I wasn't looking and suck the wits out of most of the population…

          • DBH

I take it that you evaded the stalker…bet that was scary. There are certainly some kooks out there….many so called Christians even frighten me.

I am also very concerned about where we are and our future….those who I previously disregarded as the nuts on the fringes seem to now be in charge…I will be careful about disregarding them in the future. I have not followed things in Aus closely, but from what I have heard it is worse there than it is here. I feel your frustration and agree…it seems we are sleep walking to our own destruction. I think that postmodern / relativism period in the 90s created mass confusion…..even the church is misguided today! The absolutes that were societies foundation have been obliterated in many of our minds and the church just sits there and watches, even conforms to society in many cases…most are nothing more than a feel-good therapy session. The truth I find written in the Bible is screaming out today….particularly in the area of lies and deception.

One good thing about the current state of affairs is that it forces us to stop and examine ourselves, re-evaluate and study/confirm what it is we believe and reset our priorities. This can ultimately lead to rebuilding the absolutes for societies foundation….I just hope we have not waited to long.

Be patient with those Christians emerging from their bubble. Some will have to get comfortable with the idea that you are not going to transmutate into Satan himself before their very eyes. ;-)

Oh, and thanks for the book recommendations!…and I will check out that alternet link.

I was a Goldwater girl…..Does that answer your question?

    • voipexperts

Isabel, I have often heard Glenn say that our Constitution provides for anybody to believe in any way he/she wishes. A non-believer or atheist or agnostic has every right to live his/her life free to choose, just as any religious person has the right to practice their religion, as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. We have "freedom OF religion", NOT "freedom FROM religion". There is a vast universe of difference there. You must respect Glenn's right as an individual with his own show to verbalize his beliefs. You are equally free to turn the channel. You are still 100% American. :)

    • MrFlashrifle

Isabel, nice post. You are certainly within your rights to be an athiest. America is a large tent. Realize however that freedom of Religion does not mean 'freedom *from* religion, which the left promulgates as a means for un-doing the connection between God and the founding of the U.S. One only need read the "Five thousand Year Leap" to discover the founding principles/beliefs of the dead white guys who formed this country. With some few exceptions, the founders were firm believers in natural law, existence of God, and his sanction of America as something unique in the history of mankind. This despite the erroneously, promulgated claims that the founders were Deists, agnostics, etc . . . Go ahead, get a copy of the "Five thousand Year Leap" and challenge your belief system to see if your examined life is worth living.

      • Isabel Isherwood

I read it. I'm still an atheist. I have a very good reason to be an atheist. This is not the forum to reveal my reasons. Suffice to say that nothing that people have done since I made my desicion has made me want to be religious again.

        • Lillith66

ALL WE HAVE LEFT IS GOD! PRAYER! HONOR is JUST a word that only some people cherish, not the Democrats or many Republicans. GOD IS JUST ABOUT ALL WE HAVE LEFT! We cherish HONOR that which belongs under GOD. We have been blind for too long, and they, (Obamanites) quietly took control of our lives, money, health, etc. There is no more voting in Congress & Senate on Bills or laws. The appointed czars have changed this all thru the control of the many agencies & political appointees. Czars has taken over our laws of voting. Just recently the EPA has said that lead in ammunition is harmful to the environment. Therefore no more ammunition in guns should we arm ourselves against the government. They have been trying to take away our right to arm ourselves for years. WE will come to the point where we will need to arm ourselves from the LEFTISTS like G. Soros & all of the criminals. The oil spill was designed by Obama who forced the EPA to stop all oil drilling; results are higher gasoline prices for us & Obama personal Brazilian oil companies profits. They will become so rich in money, then WE all become more& more poor.

I have never felt that BHO was merely incompetent. After listening to the insufferable rants of his pastor and those who believe the way he does, it's like waking up from a bad dream. The scarey thing is that these actions he is taking are all purposeful (deliberate) and cunning. How else to silence dissent but by labeling dissentors "racist", or "anti-government", "nativist". This "post-racial" administration has been anthing but. It was somewhat cathartic to hear Letterman indicate that he would have 1 term. Watch the LABELERS turn up the heat in their ads! Watch the invective fly! Watch them come literally unhinged!

God Is enough! Jesus Christ Is the Name above all Names! Debate With Jesus! Gods Kingdom Is to Come! Kingdom means Government! God will destroy all Evil Like It Or Not! God Is more than enough! WORSHIP GOD NOT GOV.Heytrud You are right on about Prayer! We all need to get on our faces and pray to God to save us from ourselves.

GLENN'S message to all of us in case you missed it: GOD will guide us thru these dark times of Obamanites, the ruling class. GOD, PRAYER & HONOR is all WE now have left after they got thru shredding the Constitution by appointing more laws to the czars agencies. The stimulus was designed to take more money out of our pockets, big tax increases to make us all poor, yet not Obama & the ruling class. They win, we lose. What's left for us? GOD & COUNTRY, and HONOR! We will have to fight someday, hand to hand. There is now no doubt about it now. WE will have to FIGHT them for all of our freedoms going forward. Message here from GLENN; GOD & PRAYER will give us all the strength that we need and HONOR for OUR COUNTRY! Nothing more.

Beck has guts to link the Founders with Moses. Last year he gave a powerful review of Bruce Feiler's book, "America's Prophet," http://brucefeiler.com/books/americas-prophet/ , and for good reasons. More of the same here:

Here I am, opening my big fat mouth again. But I think it's important to remember. God helps them that helps themselves. There is no doubt He will help us with His Divine Guidance. However It is up to us to do the work. Lets work together through PRAYER and TOIL to pull our country together. Thanks Beck. I know I needed that little jolt to wake me up. God Bless.

No where in the Bible does it say that God helps those who help themselves. It says quite the opposite:
      Ask and you shall receive…
You have not because you ask not…..
Ask and it will be given unto you…
Knock and the door will open……

      • Fiddler

That's right! "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, and not of works that no one should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God had ordained beforehand, that we should walk in them. EPH 2: 8-10

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit. Titus3:5

I beg your pardon but I didn't say that was a quote from the Bible. But friend. If you think God puts food on your table and a roof over your head, preserves your freedom to pray and worship without you making some kind of effort then your still living off your Mama or someone else who is working to provide these things for you By the grace of God and for your's or their sweat you should be thankful and not so quick to criticize. Amen.

Beck is saying "not everything is politics". That politics is shaped by the souls of individuals but we are dangerously close to a situation where politics is shaping the individual. As Eric Voegelin put it: Society is man writ large; not Man is society writ small.

You Got That One Right! Islam Hates And That is everyone! We Have To Defend ourselves They Will Kill Us,For That Is Islam.

I thank God everyday for Glenn Beck. He is doing God's work and it is high time that Americans take back this country and restore it with the God fearing priniciples that this great nation was built on. Principles that we are destined to fail without. Progressives (socialists/marxist) don't undertsand this history because they have never learned it. They have spent all their time and efforts trying to rewrite history into a pack of lies that fits their Godless agendas. Progressivism (socialism/marxism) is a cancer to this country and it's time to remove the cancer. For those of us that love God, the time to push back has come. It is not good enough to simply do a good deed. Evil must be shunned. In the words of English philosopher Edmund Burke, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Charles Baldwin, ( more or less ) Leader of the Black Robed Regiment and major attendee at the 8/28 rally:

"…It was Abraham Lincoln who was the first President to flagrantly and deliberately violate his oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. His disregard and contempt for the Constitution cannot be overstated…"

Sound pretty much like Beck? Also, study the platform:

Enemies from within are destroying the United States of America. An unholy coalition of anti-White, anti-Christian liberals, socialists, feminists, homosexuals, jews and militant blacks have managed to seize control of our government and mass media. This gang of criminals and degenerates has declared war on the hard working, tax paying, White citizens. White Americans have become second class citizens in the country our ancestors built from nothing. The liberal dictatorship seeks to disarm us and leave us at the mercy of savage rapist and murders. Bands of bloodthirsty criminals prowl our streets. They rape, rob and murder with impunity. As our women and children are butchered by these subhumans, the Republicans and Democrats demand that white people remain silent and show tolerance. Freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to keep and bear arms are all being taken away. All the mighty pillars of American democracy are being torn down by the left wing tyrants.

The paranoia I have seen at the Huffington Post about the rally is shocking.

There were probably a half million people there on the Mall and not one arrest, no garbage, no political anything.

The Left just doesn't know what to think, they don't understand the Right so they react in fear. It is sad to watch.
