An Invented People Despite Some Doubters

The Father of Palestinian “Nationalism” and His Hero

Some conservatives, most notably Elliot Abrams, have criticized Newt Gingrich’s observation that the Palestinians are an invented people by saying that even if they are — (and there is no real question but that they are) — they’ve been around long enough (50 years, or since the creation of the PLO in 1964) so that we need to deal with that fact — not. What makes anyone think this is a people even today? Last spring I spoke at Brooklyn College. My speech was attended and then obstructed by a sizeable contingent from the Brooklyn College “Palestinian Club” — at least fifty people, all ethnic Arabs claiming to be Palestinians. During my talk I referred to the Palestinian death cult, its admiration for Hitler, its determination to wipe the Jewish state from the face of the earth, its eagerness to kill any Jew and to blow up its own children in the process. I said it was a “sick, sick culture.” But when the members of the so-called Palestinian Club erupted at me, what they said was “Why do you want to lynch all Muslims?” (This is on video available on YouTube or on our site — under “Videos” — for anyone who wants to check. It comes in the Q&A period.) This does not sound like a nationalist movement.

But the evidence is that Palestinians are a political fiction for a movement whose organizing desire is the destruction of the Jewish state and expulsion of the Jews is far stronger than this small incident. In 1948, 80% of the so-called “Palestine Mandate” had been given to the Hashemite minority in control of Jordan. The Jews were given half of the remaining 20% and the Arabs the other half. A nationalist movement would surely have accepted the partition and then laid claim to the 80% controlled by the Hashemites in Jordan. No such thing happened. Instead the Arab states including Jordan attacked the Jewish state with the intention of destroying it.

The upshot of that war was a Jewish victory in 1949. Whereupon Egypt annexed Gaza and Jordan annexed the West Bank — all the territory that had been offered to the so-called Palestinians and rejected by them.  There was not a peep out of the Arab world — or out of the so-called Palestinians — over this rejection. Why? Because a Palestinian state was never their agenda. Their agenda was and is the destruction of the Jewish state and the expulsion of the Jews from the Middle East — or failing that, their absolute subjection as a hated minority without access to state power.

Hamas is not a national movement. It is a fanatical religious cult which seeks a Muslim Empire throughout the Middle East and — in so many words — the extermination of the Jews. That’s in their charter. Is there an objection to this Nazi agenda from Abbas and the “moderate” terrorists of the West Bank? Not at all. The PLO has declared it will not recognize a Jewish state, has said that Palestine will be Jew free, and has formed an alliance with the Hamas Nazis.

The agenda of the Arabs in the Middle East is not nationalist — that went out with the vile dictator Gamal Abdel Nasser. The agenda is Islam — an Islam whose prophet calls for the extermination of the Jews and whose leaders call on their Arab brethren to finish the job that Hitler started.

Nothing can be aded to your satement David , nor can anything be taken away. The amazing thingabout these FACTS , is that they have been out there in the pblic domain .The intention to destroy Israel and the Jews is no secret . It is not even referred to in "code words " …it is overt , and has been made public for decades . This desire permeates the arab media , it is taught to their children ,it is in their poetry and art , it is proclaimed in their mosques , appears in editorials , if nothing else in this world is true …THIS IS .

Well said. The primary objective has and always will be the complete eradication of the Jewish state. This has never, ever been a battle about borders. It is a battle over existence.

Man, being a conspiracy theorist must make life awfully simple.

    • ObamaYoMoma

Being a perpetual gullible useful idiot like you must be a miserable way to go through life.

    • winoceros

Being unable to read history as it happened must make one awfully simple.

  • Amused

Being mindless and, unaware of the truth that stares you in the face must be even simpler Eh , NotaBene ? I guess putting your brain up on the shelf has its advantages …for a simpleton.
But I'll humor you , please specify which part of Davids above statement is " conspiracy " or "theory " .

And the sad part of the story, is that a lot of pseudointellectuals and supersages
still swallowed hook, line and sinker this fable of the so autocalled "Palestinians"
and refuse to recognize it is just a fantasy, worth of being added to the of the One
Thousand and One Nights…in line with their claim on Jerusalem as the place
from where Mohammed flew on his flying horse and jumped to Heaven….

Unfortunately, this situation is nboody's fault but that of the Israeli governments, a classic example are the fantasies of no less than its present President, Peres,
failing to recognize that no matter how many concessions Israel makes, the final
goal of these wrongly called "Palis" is the destruction of Israel, regardless of how
much time and blood it may take.

Agreed, now for the Western world to wake-up and smell the coffee.

I suspect that when all these "radical" Islamists are in Hell Israel will still be in place. How sad to be so blind and stupid as to hate a nation that was already ancient when Mohamed was born.

I often wonder why Israel has not been clamoring in the UN for the last sixety years
for the land promised origionally and was cheated out of. I often wonder why Israel
has not been demanding the support of the Judeo-Christian World for the access
to all of the land that is promised in the Scriptures, do Christians who declare that
the Bible is the Word of God wish to block the Almighty in His plans? What kind
of living lie can the present situation be seen as from above, all Christians who
are grafted in must line up and speak up and demand and accounting for justice
for the Biblically Chosen People or make a lie of the Scriptures and be against
the Deity you claim to serve. "For me and my house, we will serve the Lord" and
mean to do just that, stand with the Jews without reservation…………William

The debate is on! However, as long as the word ““invented”” remains undefined, legally, any side
can take any position claiming all peoples of all nations were ““invented”” at some time in their
origin. On the other hand, if ““invented”” means the Palestinians are merely a ““garden variety””
of Arabs, with no current or historically accepted element of sovereignty, (e.g., distinct culture,
history, language, defined and defensible borders, ability to make and enforce treaties, established
system of justice, rule of law, due process, humane civil rights, etc.,) who were arbitrarily given
the label ““Palestinian”” to wrongfully claim an area otherwise belonging to Israel, legitimately
acquired from defeating enemies from wrongful attack, it establishes the illegitimacy of the
Palestinian claim and the Palestinian claimant. On this basis, it is difficult, if not impossible for the
validity of Gingrich’’s statement to be successfully challenged on grounds of international law.

The only reason they have to be invented is their brethren will not absorb them, as Israel absorbed her brethren. Remember, it is all a ploy to destroy Israel.

Simple: http://jc.does-it proves God Authored the Bible. The Koran disputes the Bible and hates everything that God loves and established. So what do you expect from devout followers of a fallen angel who hates God's choosen people!

Muslims are a homosexual culture taught to hate gay people. That's why they are so angry.

Indeed, the biggest myth of all is that there is a conflict between Israel and Palestinians or between Israel and Arabs. What is happening instead is a permanent genocidal jihad of conquest is being waged perpetually against the Jewish unbelievers in Israel by the Islamic world for the purpose of making Islam supreme. In addition, connect the dots, as that permanent jihad of conquest being waged perpetually against the Jewish unbelievers in Israel is one of many violent jihads being waged by the Islamic world simultaneously against many non-Muslim unbelievers around the world. As the Islamic world is also waging jihads of conquest against various and sundry non-Muslim unbelievers in Kashmir, Jammu, India. Thailand, the Philippines, Chechnya, Russia, Cote D'Ivoire, Nigeria, Sudan, Somalia, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Bosnia, Kosovo, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum. Indeed, Israel should find a way to unite with all of those likewise afflicted countries to form a unified front to counter the Islamic world's jihads.

With respect to non-violent stealth and deceptive jihad, the Islamic world is also waging non-violent stealth and deceptive jihad against the West via mass Muslim immigration for the purpose of stealth demographic conquest. As Muslims never ever migrate to the West or anywhere else for that matter to assimilate and integrate, but instead to eventually subjugate and dominate via the eventual imposition of Sharia for the purpose of stealth demographic conquest to make Islam supreme.

Newt is right, but he did not see the issue through far enough. Invented, for what? The Palestinians are an invented people. But so were the Americans. It took the colonists less time to invent America than it did the Arabs to invent Palestine. The other similarity between the two "invented" peoples is that they were both invented on strong philosophical premises. America was invented on the premise of freedom and individual rights. Palestine was invented on the premises of Jew-hatred, mass murder, and terrorism. America was, in it's original founding principles, the most moral country ever invented. Palestine, similarly, is the most immoral country ever invented. As neat a pair of opposites as you'll ever find. Now say *that* in an interview and I'll be impressed.

    • aspacia

The Americans were invented because they were fighting for their rights as Englishmen; they wanted representation in Parliament and this was denied.

  • Fred Dawes

Newt is a tool of the bankers and the one world guys who want all people of the world in total enslavement so vote for him, he will just be one more obama you can't get away from facts and history, you can yell run-away but facts always will hit you in the face.

The people who made this country said to stay away from the world BS, Now we are all owned by the BS People muslims and jews, how sad to see a great people become the world, by the way the palestine and the jews have the same DMA,

    • winoceros

You're right. Eugenics is so much more important than ideology. Thank you for clarifying your position.

I believe Mr. Horowitz is right about Palestinians, but some farmers do not think his attacks on ethanol are right. Ethanol helps the farm economy and displaces some Middle Eastern oil. Protection of the US oil industry is one thing, but we need to be cautious about policies that can have the unintended consequences of supporting all kinds of jihad by maintaining oil imports from the Middle East.
