Ron Paul: Blame Israel First

Pages: 1 2

Do you know who the latest Zionist on the block is? It’s the man who called Israel, “an aggressive, national socialist state” and suggested that the original World Trade Center bombing may have really been carried out by Israel.

Then there’s the solicitation letter which boasted that this courageous fellow was exposing the, “Bohemian Grove–perverted, pagan playground of the powerful. Skull & Bones: the demonic fraternity that includes George Bush and leftist Senator John Kerry, Congress’s Mr. New Money. The Israeli lobby, which plays Congress like a cheap harmonica.”

So how is he a Zionist? Ask Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic. According to him, Ron Paul is, “in one sense, a true Zionist, a believer in two core values of the Jewish liberation movement: Jewish independence and Jewish self-reliance.” The “sense” in which this is true is the sense in which the segregationists were really a black power movement who wanted black people to be independent and self-reliant.

This discussion began when the Republican Jewish Coalition failed to invite Ron Paul to their forum of leading presidential candidates. The RJC had not invited Paul back in 2007 either and there was no obvious reason for them to have done so this time around. A forum is not a debate and a Jewish group has no obligation to invite an anti-Israel candidate, just as a Catholic pro-life group has no obligation to invite Nancy Pelosi.

Goldberg perpetuates the myth that the issue is Ron Paul’s opposition to foreign aid. That is not the issue. If it were the issue, Governor Perry, who said that “The foreign aid budget in my administration for every country is going to start at zero dollars,” would not have been invited either.

Foreign aid is not the issue. The actual issue is that Ron Paul’s views on Israel and Jews (as well as American foreign policy) are indistinguishable from those of Pat Buchanan.

Ron Paul isn’t simply against foreign aid; he believes that the Israeli lobby controls Washington and involves American in foreign wars… and that this was among the causes of September 11. Paul has described the original World Trade Center bombing as a “retaliation” and during the Republican debates in 2007 and 2011 blamed American foreign policy for Al-Qaeda’s attacks.

The Buchanan comparison is true in more ways than one. Ron Paul has insisted that we should have stayed out of WW2 and let Nazi Germany and the USSR fight it out, and that by entering the war Churchill only prolonged it. Clearly this was another expression of Ron Paul’s Zionism and his desire to promote “Jewish independence and Jewish self-reliance.”

Ron Paul supporters will clamor that the above material comes from the Ron Paul Survival Report, which according to the Paul campaign was supposedly written for years by some mysterious stranger pretending to be Ron Paul. This unknown stranger discussed his time in Congress, his medical career and his wife Carol all in the first person. That the media actually bought this ridiculous explanation, even while actual Republicans were lynched for much less than writing in support of David Duke, should tell you all you need to know about Paul’s cheerleaders in the mainstream media. But let’s skip over the “Report” for a moment.

Articles like this, and people who push these kinds of things are the kinds of things which will lead to hatred of Israel.

I don't know how thinks it's a good idea to put Israel ahead of the US in politics, but it's incredibly stupid.

You are affecting people such as myself who generally don't have an opinion on Israel 1 way or the other extremely negatively.

This article is telling me, I should just deal with the bailouts and theft that is going on, and instead vote for a candidate who supports these things because they talk tough on Israel.

That I should just deal with the loss of liberty because the other candidate talks tough on Israel.

That I should pass up on the 1 honest politican I have seen in my life.

And I look at the policies and things. I see that in 1981 Ron Paul stuck up for Israel when nobody else did over their sovereignty. And then you try to convince me that Ron Paul is anti-Israel, or "Anti-semite", and I'm left sitting here feeling like someone is just throwing around the racism card.

So keep it up if you want to lose support for Israel. I'm just a voter, I don't give a crap if some guy wants to call me "Anti-Semite". And when you ask me one day why, I'm going to say because people put that foreign country above my own.

  • sod

Ron is right to some degree, Israle shouldn't give up the Gaza, the Sinai, the West Bank and should claim the other 4/5 of the original British mandate that meant for the Israel state.

It only proves that appeasement will only bring about more violence.

  • Don

Delusion is a disease. Even the Israeli Prime Minister agrees with Ron Paul. Why's nobody calling him anti-Jew? Ron Paul is correct. He is far more intelligent and courageious than any of the morons attacking him here. He's too intelligent for Americans to understand so they hat him. Classic.

Norm: when the U.S. military attacks Iran then they will be fighting and bleeding and dying for Israel. Idiot.

    • Daniel Greenfield

Actually they'll be fighting and bleeding and dying for Jimmy Carter, but I don't see any such thing happening anyway.

  • UCSPanther

Ron Paul cultists: A textbook example of a personality cult.

  • Jay

So, you believe you have the right to STEAL money from me to give to Israel and to unconstitutionally wage war in the midde east?

How would you fund this if not via theft through taxation?

Also, Ron Paul never blamed the American People for 9/11… he blamed our governments unconstiutional foreign policy. Damn, the author is a dumb ass.

    • Questions

Why doesn't Rep. Paul denounce our aid to Egypt, which since the 1978 Camp David accords has been in the same amounts as to Israel? The Congressman's silence is deafening.

      • Simon

What are you talking about? He denounces ALL foreign aid.

      • Joe

Yeah, he is against all foreign aid, not just to Israel.

In fact, we give more to the enemies of Israel than we do to Israel, so in that kind of manner, it would be a net gain for Israel.

    RON PAUL 2012!!!!

  • stern

Best argument for voting AGAINST Ron Paul? The anti-Semitic garbage spouted here by those who support him. If these are his base, that's all I need to know.

  • mike donovan

If crowds came after Jews to scapegoat things in the USA, only one candidate would have the courage to protect them – Ron Paul. The rest would turn on Jews as fast as they turned on Muslims for political advantage. Keep that in mind when you are trying to destroy him because he's not the pocket of the Israel lobby.

    • Daniel Greenfield

      Ron Paul already scapegoats Jews

      • Joe

Yeah right, would that include in 1981 when he was one of the few people who didn't condemn Israel for protecting itself by bombing nuclear sites in Iraq?

  • Reason&Truth

It's time for Ron Paul to start suing authors like this for slander – your article is dishonest and just NOT TRUE!

    Ron Paul 2012

  • Chad

Shill-man Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center (I think that just about says it all). “an aggressive, national socialist state” (why does the author disagree?) “courageous fellow was exposing the … playground of the powerful” (why does the author disagree?) “Israeli lobby, which plays Congress like a cheap harmonica” (why does the author disagree?) “Jewish independence and Jewish self-reliance” (why does the author think these are terrible things?) … This entire article is rubbish. Propagandizing journalistic terrorism – for reactive minds. Understanding Ron Paul requires intelligent thought beyond reactive emotion. For example: A Terroristic Journalist will say “Ron Paul will legalize all drugs!” – this is enough to evoke fear in the simple minded. But Ron Paul demands the intelligence of a person that will question “Is this actually true, or does he leave it up to the powers of individual states? Do police/military kill more people in the War on Drugs, or do illegal drugs kill more people?”

These types of articles merely attempt to evoke fear in the mindless masses. They do not appeal to intelligent people, most of whom support Ron Paul.

  • WilliamJamesWard

Mention Ron Paul and vavoom off goes his troop of avenging spirits who will
knife you in a heartbeat. I have nothing to say against or for Ron Paul, let
the battle begin and may the pundits be the pin cushions of the day…….
    ………….oops! late again…………………………………………….William

    • Simon

So it would be better if everyone insulted Paul with no one defending him?
It's true they can try to be more respectful but it is normal to be angry when someone creates a smear article on their preferred candidate.

  • whitehunter

Ron Paul is a dangerous, deluded lunatic. His similarities to another nutcase–Lyndon LaRouche–are startling, right down to the foaming-at-the-mouth fanaticism, stark-raving-mad imaginings, and bald-faced lies of his followers, which would have fit nicely in the Jonestown cult of Jim Jones. Paul's crackpot ideas range from joining Barney Frank (uggh!) in demanding an immediate 25% cut in our defense budget, to his bizarre economic hallucinations, to his well-known Jew-hatred, to…you name just about any lunacy and chances are this crackpot advocates it. And like the zombies of the "Church" of "Scientology," Ron Paul's acolytes will defend his insanity to their last breath of sarcastic, threatening, mendacious venom.

    • Simon

Ah, and we're supposed to be the rude ones here. I will defend my positions if you asked for it, but I would not shove it down your throat. But you're free to do want and have the privacy and rights to do so. That's what I'm fighting for even if you disagree with my method of doing so.
So enjoy your Ron Paul bashing, while I politely convince other people to join the cause for Ron Paul. Guess which method is more successful.

America forced Israel out of Sinai twice…the first time under threats of violence (Eisenhower). Sinai was taken in just wars and could have provided Israel ten times as much in oil than America provided in financial aid. Furthermore for every dollar Israel has received in aid from America…enemies of Israel received ten dollars. After America interfered in Israeli policy for decades and weakened the country both economically and spiritually, to say now that we should just cut them off is like throwing someone off a ship after taking them out into the middle of the ocean, giving them a rowboat and saying "good luck."

    • Flipside

Israel just has separation anxiety from the US.

  • aspacia

This thread is a huge disappointment. Okay, if you support Paul tell us why, and expect a response. The author, Greenberg, supports his claim with facts and most Paul supporters respond with vacuous ad hom attacks.

Fact: Paul is an isolationist, and whether we like it or not, we are in a global economy. Most any car we purchase has parts from many different countries.

We a still dependent on oil, and Israel is a vital ally to help us keep an eye on the vital economic commodity.

We sell military defense items to Israel and provide 3. billion in Federal aid; this aid is a very insignificant part of the GNP, and is miniscule compared to the amount of aid we provide world wide.

I must dress for work, but will return.

So Who's Afraid of the Israel Lobby?

Virtually everyone: Republican, Democrat-Conservative, Liberal. The fear factor is non-partisan, you might say, and palpable. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) brags that it is the most influential foreign policy lobbying organization on Capitol Hill, and has demonstrated that time and again-and not only on Capitol Hill.

    Loss of Liberty

  • Ghostwriter

Let's be honest here. Ron Paul is an isolationist who'd simply abandon Israel to her neighbors. It's just that simple.

          Marx hated Jews.

He hated Capitalism and he equated it with the Jews. Same with moneylending.

  • Guy Faux

Article: "The Israeli lobby, which plays Congress like a cheap harmonica.”

Disputed report: "Sharon reportedly yelled at Peres, saying "don't worry about American pressure, we the Jewish people control America."

"I lived as an Israeli citizen until I was 26 and everyone in Israel knew that the U.S. did as it was told. Why do you think the U.S. gives Israel over three billion dollars every year plus unlimited armaments? Because of the control they have over the U.S. they can get away with genocide and practice apartheid with impunity."

His views are not without merit … but of course, it is easy to understand why the group would be reluctant to let Paul speak. Censorship is natural for the censor … isn't it, Mr. Horowitz?

  • clew18gyber

Ron Paul is like a broken clock; even a broken clock is correct twice a day. He has some valid worries about debased currency and crooked deals between banks and government; on other matters, he is completely insane. His attitude towards Jews is reminiscent not only of Pat Buchanan, but also of Louis Farrakhan. You listen to them, and they SEEM to be sane, coherent, speaking in complete sentences, but then someone says the work "Jew" or "Israel", and they snap; their heads start spinning around on their shoulders.
Ron Paul's claim that people in other countries only hate America because of aggressive, nasty things we have done to them, is nonsense. It is a favorite argument of liberals. "If only America got its boot off the world's neck, everyone would be fine." What crap. The only thing we have ever done to other countries is to try to sell them Coca cola and other junk we make. Nobody forces them to buy it. America is the only country in history that had the opportunity to be a colonial power, and decided it didn't want to be one. Just because Ron Paul is not interested in history and facts, does not make them untrue or irrelevant. Stalin said "you may not be interested in history, but it is interested in you". There is a wooden ship in Boston harbor called the Constitution.
It's our oldest active duty navy vessel. The reason it exists, the reason the America HAS a navy, is that we Americans initially tried to peacefully coexist and trade with the rest of the world, but our merchant ships were attacked—by Muslims from North Africa. The Barbary pirates attacked us, captured our ships, slaughtered their crews and passengers, or sold them into slavery. So Jefferson and John Adams realized that in spite of their desire to "avoid foreign entanglements", we needed a navy, and we needed to fight back. History was "interested in us", unfortunately. It still is, unfortunately. It's just the way the world works. Someone should tell Ron Paul that. But he's mentally impenetrable. It's just the way he works.

Someone mentioned the ridiculous notion of repaying China with precious metals.

You never repay a nation with something of intrinsic value. You always pay them with fiar currency. The idea is that they spend this fiat in your economy. This is the only way to remain competetive with that nation.

Libertarians will never understand what a fiat currency is, and G-D forbid, if they ever take power, they will take us back to the stoneage with their precious metal currency.

  • John

Ron Paul will be a President who puts USA first. Stopping foreign aid is not anti Israel, it is just putting USA first. Everything else you say is just pro Israel propoganda.

  • Alf

Ron Paul is the best friend Israel and Jews have. He is not an opportunist like the rest of the GOP candidates (and Obama). He is not crawling in mud and kissing AIPAC in the rear part as all the others, in order to get Jewish vote and Jewish money.

On the other hand, he will not leave Israel alone even if the AIPAC influence should wane.

Remember: people who used to kiss your ass because they are afraid of you will bite you the moment you lose your power. It is very painful to have to demean oneself for money. Ron Paul doesn't do it.

  • Alex

I just don't see the anti -Israel sentiment in his philosophies, I think Ron understands the special relationship we have with Israel, but is also mindful that over meddling into Israels policies actually hampers Israel security, Perhaps that he follows the founders advice closely may reflect the illusion of being anti whatever, but there is a clear message our founders had about foreign entanglements that we should steer clear of, that's not being anti anything, that is just using common sense in my opinion.

Just passing through. A European surfing on his computer.
A few comments. Some of the bigotry and hatred I have read here from Paul-groupies were not just antisemitic but downright fascist. (everybody can google the definition of fascism).
At first a pretty scary thought that someone like Paul could become the next President. Then i resd the most recent Gallup poll. 12% of registered Republican voters support Paul. That was reassuring. After all, every country has some bigots and they have the right to be represented.

Your wars in the Middle East. Go fight them yourself. They are no concern of the US. Go solve your own problems. No more blood and treasure for your endless little wars of hate.

The $3 billion a year “free gift” from the US to Israel should stop. So should the $12 billion a year gift to her “enemies”.

Zionism is founded on the principles of self-reliance and self-determination. Yet Israel has no shame in accepting this charity from the US. And it comes with strings attached – control over Israeli policy.

The other $12 billion? Attempted control over the governments of the mid-east.

No shame, no gain is apparently the Israeli policy in accepting these ‘gifts’.

When will Israel grow up and determine it’s own destiny without the influence of the US?

    Never, it seems.

  • Gary McAleer

If the world honored the Ten Commandments there would be no wars or locks on doors. The Constitution and Bill of Rights perfectly compliment the value of the Ten Commandments. The first four Commandments deal with our relationship with GOD and no one has the right to impose on another their version of obedience. But the last six Commandments deal with our safety with one another. Every crime the world over is due to their transgression. The moniker of Ron Paul is to restore the dignity of our forefather’s intent in those documents. And the only reason men historically have trampled them is because they despise the conscience calling for mutual liberty. Its always the childhood game of King of the Hill. As wild animals are tame when they’re young but grow up into fierce predators, so it is with men.

    – Hitler also promises several national stabilizing solutions, before he started he true doubled in one solution : Order & cleansing by war and massmurder.
Ron Pauö must be a friend of Chavez and AchMadinedChat.

But if you interested in, I have a big solution for stabilazing the nation & the west :

  • Not Paul

Ron Paul bought into everything that Osama Bin Laden said, literally, because it was Bin Laden and only Bin Laden who said what Paul parrots, that because we had an air base in Riyadh – which was built BY INVITATION from the Saudi goverment, whom Bin Laden also despised, he planned and executed the 1993 WTC bombing and the Sept. 11, 2001 WTC destruction.

Google "Umayyad Caliphate" and then Google "Ottoman Empire." Then visit the website,, and ask yourself, "What does the US or Israel have to do with what started in the 7th Century and is still going on now? That being the effort to spread Islam across the world and create another global caliphate ruled by Sha'ria law.

Over a 1,400 year period, Islamic empires existed thanks to the bloodiest conquests the world has ever known. Muslims occupied 3/4 of the known world by force, not by ideas, long before there was an America and long before there was the modern state of Israel.

What is going on now is no different than what took place in prior centuries. Islam is not just a religion but a total way of life, aka a totalitarian ideology, which never changed. What changed were the people. There were Muslim rulers who were tolerant, even kind, to Jews and Christians, and there were rulers who were more ruthless than anyone you can name.

The problem is that "radical Islam" is not "radical" to the people who ascribe to it. It is "mainstream Islam" to them, and they are right. Mainstream Islam, according to the Koran and the Hadiths, is not tolerant of other religions because Islam sees other religions as being false and a danger to Islam.

Look around the world at all of the conflicts today. Ask yourself, "What group of people are causing these conflicts and what is the driving force behind them?"

HINT: It is not Americans or Jews or Israelis. It is not Western imperialism or colonialism. The Crusades were DEFENSIVE wars and never would have existed if the Muslim Empire had not conquered Spain on its way to conquering all of Europe, as it had the rest of the world.

All of the people that scream “anti-Semite” at the drop of a hat seem to have a very clear “anti-Gentile” view. Why do the Semitic people make their causes do divisive? Your hatred for any non-Jewish person is abundantly evident in the vitriolic rhetoric and propoganda you spew. The agenda in this article is very clear by the tone and libel you have chosen to use. That is exactly what Christianity use to do. In fact, they would burn non-christians in public as a means of spreading fear into people.

It has no doubt gotten much better thankfully for us over the years. But it just kind of goes to show that such actions aren't really religion itself, but rather the people involved as highlighted by the general difference in Christianity today and what it once was.
