The Center for American Progress’s Jewish Conspiracy Theory

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

According to the Center for American Progress, the reason that nearly half of all Americans have a negative view of Islam is because of three and a half Jews and an Irishman. If such an allegation were being made by a Saudi cleric or an Egyptian newspaper, we could laugh it off along with the aphrodisiac gum, the GPS shark and other regional conspiracy theories about the Jews. But that’s not the case here.

Time Magazine described the Center for American Progress as the most influential outside group in the Obama Administration. Run by Clinton’s former Chief of Staff, and funded by shady billionaires, the growing influence of the shadowy organization on the Democratic Party has troubled even the mainstream media.

“It is difficult to overstate the influence in Obamaland of CAP,” Time wrote. It is even more difficult to overstate its influence on the media, which relies on talking points created by the Center and its blog, ThinkProgress. And that makes the CAP’s descent into scapegoating all the more disturbing.

The Muslim world often blames its problems on the Jews. And “Fear Inc“, the CAP report, does the same thing by claiming that five men, three of whom are Jews (while a fourth is employed by a Jew – as the report notes — and receives underwriting from two more Jews), have turned Americans against Islam. But is the 49 percent negative rating for Islam really attributable to a handful of terrorism experts who managed to convince a fourth of the country to change its view of Islam? Or is it attributable to years of terrorism, war, blood curdling incitements from assorted imams and thousands of dead Americans?

Such scapegoating is not new. England’s first socialist party blamed the Boer War on the Jews. Henry Ford claimed the Jews were behind WWI. Charles Lindbergh delivered speeches accusing the Jewish lobby of stirring up war against Germany. The echo of those allegations can be found in “Fear Inc.”, which denounces scapegoating, even as it engages in it.

The majority of Americans have never heard of Frank Gaffney or David Yerushalmi, and they could not begin to name any of the experts or foundations in the report. If their view of Islam is negative, it’s not because a handful of foundations and terrorism experts have convinced them of something contrary to their perceptions. It is because they have lived through years of violence and terror.

If ThinkProgress editor and report co-author, Faiz Shakir really wanted to understand why his religion is viewed negatively by so many Americans, all he needed was to take a walk in their shoes. To stand at Ground Zero, the graveyard of thousands murdered by holy warriors invoking the Koran, to walk through Times Square, where a fellow Pakistani plotted to detonate a car bomb, or to visit the small towns where every few weeks a body is lowered into the ground courtesy of a Muslim terrorist.

Such a journey would be difficult, because it would mean coming to terms with the moral crisis of the Muslim world. It would mean empathizing with Americans, who were willing to give Islam the benefit of the doubt after September 11 until they realized over the years that it was not a one-time event, but a pattern of violence. A pattern that only Muslims can break.

Rather than make the journey, Shakir and his co-authors counter one villain with another. If Americans view Islam badly, it can only be because a handful of Jewish experts financed by other rich Jews brainwashed them into it. Such ideas can be commonly found in the Pakistani press – or that of any number of other Muslim countries — but they should have no place in America. When Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad blamed Jewish influence for the poor image of Muslims in the West, he was widely condemned for it. It is troubling that such views have now found their way into a widely publicized report by the brain trust of the Democratic Party

In the dark days of the Twentieth Century, while Jewish storeowners were sweeping up broken glass, and Jewish children were being assaulted on the streets of Europe– the appeasers were blaming the Jewish lobby for growing tensions in Europe. Now as Jewish storeowners sweep up broken glass after leftist pro-Muslim attacks on their stores and Jewish children are attacked again on the streets of Europe– growing tensions with the Muslim world are once again blamed on the Jewish Lobby.

It's more like 20 and a half Jews and an Irishman, but yeah, you are who you are. And anyone with a television has probably seen Frank Gaffney. So which one is not true: 1) You're Jewish. 2) You're amplifying the negative view toward Islam? Your thesis is that because Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh said bad things about the American Jewish community (some of them true, some of them exaggerations), that everything said about Jews is a canard or otherwise false. You are trying so hard. So hard. CAP isn't responsible for the idea that a small handful of loudmouthed Zionists are largely responsible for the Kulturkampf against Muslims. Daniel Pipes is responsible for it. Irv Rubin was responsible for it. David Horowitz is responsible for it. You are responsible for it. Charles Krauthammer is responsible for it. Irving Kristol is responsible for it. Pamela Geller is responsible for it. Debbie Schlussel is responsible for it. Charles Jacobs is responsible for it. You are who you are. You are in fact, a small subminority withing the Jewish community. You are loud, you are known. You can't have it both ways. You do what you do, and you get called out for it, rightfully. It's not a theory. Do you think you are a theory?

      - passenger plane hijacking
      - flying passenger planes into buildings
      - bombing buses and the subway in London

It's not a conspiracy theory if it's TRUE, and it is. Zionist jews are leading the smear campaign against Muslims. It's not enough to kill, imprison and humiliate Muslims in their own land (Palestine); now you folks gotta sitr up trouble for them in the US. And you wonder why people dislike jews? JEWISH BEHAVIOR. Plain and simple.

    • Ken

You know, if you are an anti-Semite, at least have intestinal fortitude to say so.

      • http://vnnforum.com DeShawn

I have no problem with Arabs so i can't be an "anti-semite." But yes, I have no love for jews.

          noted

        • rulierose

in addition to being an anti-Semite you're also an idiot. "anti-Semitic" doesn't mean "prejudiced against Semitic peoples," it means "prejudiced against Jews." you would know that if you would look in a dictionary. you know what a dictionary is, don't you? it's a book, with lots and lots of words in it. I'm sure you've seen them before. like probably you've read "Protocols of the Elders of Zion"–THAT's an example of a book!

    • lothianburnmember

Richard Nixon and Billy Graham both agreed that the criminal and unjust actions of the State of Israel was the prime motivator for anti-semitism in the world… particualrly in the US. anyone with a brain would find it hard to disagree with him.

      • Haroldp

Anti-Semitism predates Israel. Muslims have been killing Jews for years. They didn't need Israel as an excuse when they already had the Koran and Hadith. Their religious leaders call on Muslims to kill Jews in their Friday sermons while newspapers, radio and television campaign for war against the Jewish state. Summer camps for children extol the virtues of killing Jews while camps, parks and buildings are named after the terrorists who have killed the most Jews. There is nothing peaceful about Muslims. If they don't have Jews, Christians or other minorties to persecute other they will murder other Muslims. Just witness the carnage in Libya and Syria.

    • ziontruth

      DeSchutzstaffel,

      "Muslims in their own land"

That would be the Arabian Peninsula. Anything outside is acquisition by conquest, whether military or demographic.

"And you wonder why people dislike jews?"

I don't care anymore. I take it as a given, and therefore, I pay no heed to my image. If Jews are going to be hated then they might as well make it worthwhile. "If you're doing the time, you might as well commit the crime," as the saying goes.

Arab muslims are responsible for the genocide of 1 million Africans in Sudan and yet somehow the world still ‘believes’ muslims are victims. That is scary. The Nuba peopla in Somalia are currently being wiped out by muslims and yet muslims have the monopoly on victimhood so the world remains silent. It seems only a few people have the balls to speak the truth which people like you want to suppress. Well the truth is out there and many are waking up now, so change the record because the ‘victim’ card doesn’t cut it anymore.

    • mah29001

Islam is an evil cult and although not all Muslims are Jihadists, the command to war against all non-Muslims is evil. Toleranace in the face of evil is a crime. Proud to stand with those who fight against evil and shame on you for your silence.

    • Pathena

Why do you say that Israel is the land of Muslims called "Palestine"? It is the ancient land of the Jews. And the name "Palestine" was always synonymous with "land of the Jews" or "the Holy Land" since the Roman Emperor Hadrian changed the name of Judea to Palestina in 135 A.D. after defeating the last Jewish rebellion under Bar Kochba. He changed the name in order to forever eradicate all memory of Judea and the Jews, and outlawed Judaism. (He also renamed Jerusalem "Aelia Capitolina," "Aelius was his gens name.) But the name "Palestine" then became synonymous with "Judea." and "Palestine," which is why Great Britain was given the "Palestine Mandate" after World War I to be the "homeland of the Jews."
Calling Arabs "Palestinian," is the consequence of the founding of the "Palestine Liberation Organization" by Gamal Nasser, ruler of Egypt, and the Soviet Union (haters of Jews) in Cairo, in 1964; all the phony history and propaganda followed from this.

Actually 90% of the american jews are democrates (left), they all supported Obama for the elections, and they support also muslims, as they have also supported Martin Luther King, because they consider themselves as a minority, so automatically they support the minorities in USA. Since the 7th century muslims have always accused the jews for everything wrong with their filthy nation, as it's written in their quraan and hadith (sira, muhammad's life), muhammad himself suffered from paranoiac hallucinations, trusting no one ,wrapped in his own conspiracy theories fantasies. It's been now 1400 years, and the world didn't even gain 1% of the contribution of the jews to this world from the muslims. Muslims have accused the world (and still accusing) for their failing, corrupted and filthy society and life, one example are the Crusades, which the left and the muslims are trying very hard to twist history, actually the crusades came to help and protect the christians from the muslim invaders, because no arab nor a muslim was in Jerusalem before the coming of Omar ibn Il Khattab in the 7th century… Anyway just try to paragon the contributions of the jews to the contributions of the muslims to this world, and if you don't then you are fooling yourself and nobody else. As a christian arab , i respect the jews but i don't have any respect for islam nor allah, as i always say, the filthiest shoe of the filthiest jew is cleaner and better than muhammad and allah.

  • kafir4life

I observe muslims. I listen to muslims. I read the writings of muslims. I read the holy books of muslims. There is no islamophobia. There are only muslims, practicing islam in a manner consistant with the pedophile warlord (mohamat). muslims are responsible for the way non-believers feel about muslims. Notice that the muslims are perfect, never do any wrong. It's always the "others". From my observations, readings, etc. I've come to the conclusion that islam is a gutter cult, and its followers, worthy of that conclusion.

    • WildJew

Again, you haven't (nor perhaps can you) dispute any of the points made by the author of this piece.

      • equality4all

LOL…the fronptage-rag author (and I use the term author in reference to this idiot in the loosest possible sense!) said, and I quote. "visit the small towns where every few weeks a body is lowered into the ground courtesy of a Muslim terrorist." So he's suggesting that muslim terrorists are killing people every 2 weeks in smalll towns all across the US.
this is totally unbeleivable!!! How come this isn't in the tourist brochures??? LOL.

        • equality4all

For fairness he should have mentioned the terrorist actions of jews and the State of Israel as well. How many people have been lowered into graves because of them?
anyway, victimising and spreading hate against against a whole race, culture or creed is just that… and as a jew you must find that replusive, considering the things per[petrated against jews and what the propoganda against jews in the 30's in particular led to. how you cannot see through the propoganda makes me think you are either stupid or …a racist, intolerant bigot, plain and simple.

          • WildJew

Counter-jihadists (I believe most) are not victimizing or spreading hate against a whole race, culture or creed. Islam is a creed, a religion and an ideology, true. It is not a race. Spreading hate against "innocent" people and / or their peaceful creed – like Faiz Shakir and his organization are doing – is repulsive. You speak of "terrorist actions of the 'jews' (sic). Can you be specific? Do you think Israel is a state sponsor of terrorism? Do you think the United State is a state sponsor of terrorism? The firebombings ("terror-bombings") of German cities by the USAF and RAF during the second world war, was that state-sponsored terrorism on the part of the US and England?

          • equality4all

"Counter-jihadists (I believe most) are not victimizing or spreading hate against a whole race, culture or creed"

Substitute the word jew for muslim and jewish for islam in every article and comment on this website and then tell me that again with a straight face.

          • WildJew

First, I do not accept your premise (your charge) that anti-jihadists are "spreading hate," because they / we expose what is being done in the name of Islam to non-believers; because we expose the teachings and the justifications jihadists use in order to commit acts of violence and violence in general against the West; the attempts to subvert our way of life and impose other (foreign) values on the people. You did not read what I wrote very carefully. Notice I wrote "innocent" people. If Muslims, their activist and religious leaders, comport themselves in a peaceful, righteous and just manner, there is no need to alert the public to possible danger. Is there? If there were no 9/11 and other Muslim-terror attacks world-wide, maybe things would be much different. Where in the world are Jews doing these things to innocent people? How are Jews trying to subvert American values, European values, etc.?

          • equality4all

why do american or european values take precedence? What about arab / muslim values in palestine?

And jews do try to subvert american and european values… rabbinical courts, seperate schools, refusing to integrate. Where's the uproar????

I also noticed you seem to have refused to take my test.

          • WildJew

I can't take your test because it does not apply. If Jews were demanding public schools build Mikveh for Jewish girls, provide prayer rooms and prayer time for Jewish students, etc., then your test would apply. Jews are not making these special demands and if they were, I would condemn them. We are "guests" here (I know that offends many Jews) and we need to respect the laws and the values of the land in which we are guests. Same holds true for Muslim immigrants and their children. They are guests here in America. Why don't they comport themselves so, by and large? Why do we keep reading about all these special demands?
            http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime/2011/08/

            Cal Thomas on this: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/08/31/no-reli

"Respect is a two-way street. Muslims have more rights in America than in the countries from which many of them come. If Americans visit those countries they are expected to abide by the laws and religious rules. A similar amount of respect and adherence to our laws and rules should also be expected."

one law for jews, and one law for non-jews … in the US.

So the guests theory eh? So when does someone stop being a guest? are the italians still guests? What about the chinese who came over to help build the railways in the 1800's? Are they still guests? Or are only UK descended citizens exempted from 'guest status'? I wonder how the native indians would view this subject btw?

… you come across as someone who does not think much, or to very much depth about things. I'm assuming, to be optimistic that it is an age thing. Maybe once you get out of high school.. and get a job, you buy some books…and then read them..

          • WildJew

American Indians are, as you point out, "Native" Americans. I can speak for Jews. We are guests – in my view – and I believe it applies to Muslims as well. This nation's institutions were established by Enlightenment men (and women) but they were not irreligious men. They were men and women of faith. The Almighty and His providence were not foreign concepts to America's Founders.

Though America's institutions allow for the freedom of worship, America was founded on a "Judeo-Christian" ethic or basis. America is decidedly Christian in it orientation. Christmas and Easter for example are national holy days from the vast majority of Americans. Have you studied American history? Who and what have you read? What historians have you studied?

The link which you posted relates to "employment controversies with employees (within the community) whose ‘primary duties’ are religious…..“ I haven't studied this case in detail.

In principle, I have no problem allowing Muslim and Jewish religious institutions (what have you) arbitrate religious employment issues or matters within their own communities, "so long" as there is not an overt violation of American law.

What I wrote above relates to a minority religious community imposing its values on the established majority. America is not an Islamic state; not yet anyway.

          • equality4all

I can't believe I've wasted any time this afternoon responding to your posts. lol..

          • WildJew

          • trickyblain

What "religious rules" do we have in the US? People like Cal Thomas think this is a Christian nation. Aren't you breaking the rules by ahereing to Judaism?

          • WildJew

I'm not sure I understand your question. My guess is Cal Thomas would be fine with government sponsored sectarian Christian prayer in our public schools. I disagree with Thomas and other Christian fundamentalists on that. America's institutions, such as her holy days, are distinctly Christian – some would argue secular-leaning.

Yet there is an inherent, built-in separation between government / state and religion in America; for me (a minority faith) a healthy separation. My faith is about morals and ethics, which largely, if not wholly, comport with traditional American values. I have next to zero (if any) religious ceremony or ritual in my life.

But if Jews, Muslims, Hindus, etc., wish to practice their own distinctive rituals and ceremonies within their communities, I have no problem with it, so long as they do not conflict with US law (animal sacrifice, female genital mutilation, honor killings, for example) and so long as they are no imposing their rituals on the greater public. I thought I was clear above.

If female genital mutilation is not against U.S. law, it should be. Don't you think?

          • trickyblain

The US does not have holy days, we have holidays. July 4 is a holiday, as is December 25. Interesting side note — Congress was in session on December 25 for the first few sessions. The founders didn't emulate British traditions, after all.

Every US citizen needs to obey the law of the US Constitution. And that same constitution tells us that gov't cannot favor one religion over another.

Honor killings? Murder — dirtbag killed in states that have that law. Animal sacrifice? Weird. Hasn't been a current issue, has it? Female genital mutilation? Sounds awful. But I — and I admittedly rejoice in the fact that I don't remember it — went through male genital mutilation when I was a baby. It's a Jewish tradition. One, for a number of reasons, I'm pretty grateful for.

          • rulierose

omg, I know! like the planes those Jews hijacked–oh, no wait. they didn't hijack a plane. that was Muslims. well, how about that unprovoked attack on a schoolbus that–no, wait, that was the Muslims too. maybe you meant the slaughter of that family who were knifed to death while they slept, by Jewish terro–what? oh that's RIGHT…THAT was Muslims too!

oh well, I guess you must have SOMETHING in mind.

I don't "hate or victimize a whole race"–but I do say that the Israelis can't take terror attacks lying down. if they took 10 Muslim lives for every 1 Jewish life, I'd be fine with that. call me what you want: at least you'll call me ALIVE.

Daniel, if you're surprised at having to explain this, so am I! I thought it was perfectly clear that you meant precisely that. But then I guess we all need to understand the level of intelligence that leads to posts like these and cater accordingly …

conspiracy theories are the sophistication of the IGNORANT…always trying to put 2+2 and coming up with 22 instead of 4

    • Coleman TX

The details of the report are not a conspiracy theory. You are the ignorant one by not actually reading the report for yourself. Something any intelligent person should do before they comment on it.

  • WildJew

I have three of the best translations of Faiz Shakir's holy book, the Qur'an. I know what Muhammad said about the Jews; that we are "the most dangerous enemies of Muslims." Thinking Jews are studying Islam and its teachings. We listen to the imams and the clerics in the mosques. We see how they slaughter whole families in their homes; even children and infants. Itmar, Israel, March 12, 2011. We know what Islam's holy men are teaching the faithful about the Jews and other non-believers. Why shouldn't Jews be active informing the public?

    • equality4all

..lol… and you're a perfect example of why this report is important. To demonstrate to the country that there are bigoted, intolerant, racist morons like you out there who should be ignored.

      • WildJew

I notice you've not disputed any of the points I made. Your only recourse is to attack me personally rather than address my facts.

        • equality4all

Alright… i didnt really want to give any oxygen to your incredibly dumb post…but …

would you take general attacks on jews personally? If so, why do you feel free to attack all muslims and feel you can do this with impunity?

Come on…do us all a favour and show me that you're not a biggoted, racist and intolerant idiot.

          • WildJew

Where have I made "general attacks" on Muslims. I am talking about authoritative Islam; the Islam of the Qur'an. The Islam of the prophet, Muhammad. I am a literalist. I read the Qur'an and the Bible as it is written, without glossing over the text. I know there are peaceful Muslims. There are Muslims who support Israel based on their reading of the Qur'an. But how many Muslims are there who selectively read the Qur'an, looking for verses which justify Israel's right to the land? How many Muslims read the Qur'an and find in it God's love for his people Israel? How many Muslims believe the God of the Qur'an (Muhammad's God) is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? The God of Israel?

          • equality4all

…. who cares? how many times have I been to church and heard the priest talk about how jewish people had the right to committ terrorist atrocities when they forced non-jews out of palestine in 1948. Never! big deal. the world does not revolve around the jewish people and thier immoral justiifcations for committing crimes against humanity.

            Get over it.

          • WildJew

That's your answer. "Who cares? The 'jews' (sic) are immoral. The jews commit crimes against humanity," etc. I think I've got your measure.

          • equality4all

Indeed. Who cares. There are starving children in africa who haven't had anything to eat or drink for days…in some cases..longer. We are on the verge of a double dip recession with millions out of work. Being bombarded by Israel's morally bankrupt excuses for it's continued crimes against humanity is BORING!
So i say it again,… if you care so much about Israel… move there… Let us get on with more important stuff.

          • Daniel Greenfield

So go ahead then and move on… but clearly you're not moving on to go volunteer hand out food in Africa. Which means you're just a dishonest troll.

          • equality4all

LOL… au contraire my pointy headed friend…. I have used my time just recently to raise funds for the famine in africa. have you? or do you not give a damn?
So my point, my simple friend, was that every single thing that happens in the US or around the world, politcally or otherwise, does not revolve around, or involve in some convoluted way, isreal, jews, or muslims, and your stupid rivalry.

And if you did some research and read the work of german propagandists during the 30's you'd maybe wake up and realise what a repulsive objective this website has.

          • Daniel Greenfield

Why aren't you raising funds for them right now instead of trolling topics that you admitted don't matter anyway?

I guess trolling matters more to you than starving children.

Muslims want sharia law globally. This is well documented and not controversial. Please educate yourself and learn what sharia law is. Once you have done so, you will see that you agree with the murder of gays and apostates. This is Islam. If I am a ‘racist’ for being against murdering gays and apostates, then the world has gone mad.

Really? Those 19 young men of Arab origin, who thought that they were religious, and who got on three different planeson 9/11 had nothing to do with it? How about those nice people who caused a ruckus on the London underground? and all the others who wanted to go to heaven and meet a 72 yr old virgin? Even if Jews said something about this, it would be like tha play Pre & Mrs. Lincoln saw: nobody remembers it, but remembers that Pres. Lincoln was shot in the head…OK, I'll connect the dots: the magnitude of terrorist acts done by moslems in the name of islam deafens most of us to any tiny squeaks that some people might say, irrespective of the speakers; race/religion/nationality…we're still seeing the 19 faces, and hearing BOOOOMMMM, and nothing anyone says can worsen or embelish it..

For believers in Dominionism, rule by non-Christians is a sort of sacrilege.
The Christian Reconstructionists tend to be skeptical of Pentecostalism, with its magic, prophesies, speaking in tongues, and wild ecstasies. Certainly, there are overlaps between the traditions—Oral Roberts, where Bachmann studied with Eidsmoe, was a Pentecostal school. But it’s only recently that one group of Pentecostals, the New Apostolic Reformation, has created its own distinct Dominionist movement. And members see Perry as their ticket to power.

“The New Apostles talk about taking dominion over American society in pastoral terms,” wrote Wilder in the Texas Observer. “They refer to the ‘Seven Mountains’ of society: family, religion, arts and entertainment, media, government, education, and business. These are the nerve centers of society that God (or his people) must control.” He quotes a sermon from Tom Schlueter, New Apostolic pastor close to Perry. “We’re going to infiltrate [the government], not run from it. I know why God’s doing what he’s doing … He’s just simply saying, ‘Tom I’ve given you authority in a governmental authority, and I need you to infiltrate the governmental mountain.”

According to Wilder, members of the New Apostolic Reformation see Perry as their vehicle to claim the “mountain” of government. Some have told Perry that Texas is a “prophet state,” destined, with his leadership, to bring America back to God. The movement was deeply involved in The Response, the massive prayer rally that Perry hosted in Houston earlier this month. “Eight members of The Response ‘leadership team’ are affiliated with the New Apostolic Reformation movement,” wrote Wilder. “The long list of The Response’s official endorses—posted on the event’s website—reads like a Who’s Who of the apostolic-prophetic crowd, including movement founder C. Peter Wagner.”

We have not seen this sort of thing at the highest levels of the Republican Party before. Those of us who wrote about the Christian fundamentalist influence on the Bush administration were alarmed that one of his advisers, Marvin Olasky, was associated with Christian Reconstructionism. It seemed unthinkable, at the time, that an American president was taking advice from even a single person whose ideas were so inimical to democracy. Few of us imagined that someone who actually championed such ideas would have a shot at the White House. It turns out we weren’t paranoid enough. If Bush eroded the separation of church and state, the GOP is now poised to nominate someone who will mount an all-out assault on it. We need to take their beliefs seriously, because they certainly do.

  • Allotta

How about this: Islam goes against everything Americans hold dear, Sharia is opposite of our constitution. I haven't seen a beheading video made by Christians, Jews, Hindu's or any other religious group, reading from their religious book, shouting "God is great" then brutally murdering someone, then posting it on the internet for the world to see. Islam sickens me and no one but Islam itself is to blame for that.

    • Coleman TX

beautiful reply, and absolutely right. we can talk about how "every religion has its terrorists" when Buddhists start hijacking planes and Jews start shooting at schoolbuses.

  • PapaBear1

I am prepared to believe the author as the story sounds all to familiar, however, there is not a single quote from the Fear Inc. article. I have no reason to not believe the author, however, isn't a journalist supposed to give us the facts, not just his interpretation of the facts, and let us make up our minds? I can see that the author is on the right side, however, the jihad and the support it gets from the left are serious business and this is not a serious article. Shame on the lazy author and lax editing at FP.

    • stern

This is an opinion piece, not journalism. I'm sure if you wanted to read the original Fear Inc. article, you would have no trouble finding it online. There's a little thing called "google" that may be able to help ….

  • Debanjan Banerjee

In my view the root cause of the problem took place when Jews refused to accept the Prophethood of Mohammad.
They did reject the prophet only becasue they had racist views about the Arabs even then.

Even now the Jews have racist views about Muslims in general. See how that Rabbi Dove Lior encourages Jewish people to kill innocent Muslim children. All of you just talk about Fogel family what about the family of Gazans who lost their inncoent children in Israel's latest attack on that entrapped land. You are a hypocrit if you do not condemn that .

See there can be only peace between Jews and Muslims until the Jews decide to repudiate the mistake they did 14-centureis back.

    • stern

Brilliant analysis, Banerjee. So Jewish rejection of MOhammed's "prophecy" was purely racist, was it? Had nothing to do with Jewish belief in the Jewish bible? And the only way for peace to come is for Jews and Judaism to cease to exist? And there's nothing racist about that? LIke I said, brilliant.

    • Daniel Greenfield

So people who don't convert to Islam are racist.

Amazing, I think we just got a preview of the Time cover in 20 years.

    • Shari

If your train of reasoning is now symbolic of what we are importing to the United States, America is in dire trouble. Islamic immigration must stop.

  • Ghostwriter

I happen to agree a great deal with the article that Daniel Greenfield wrote. The problem isn't with most Americans. For years,we've been watching on our television screens, reading in our newspapers, and more recently watching videos on the internet of one atrocity after another of Muslim terrorists and what much of the Muslim world either condones this or supports it outright. Rarely have I seen a Muslim actually condemn a terrorist attack against innocent Americans.
For a long time now,we've seen the Marine barracks bombing in Lebanon, the "Achille Lauro" hijacking which ended with an elderly Jewish man named Leon Klinghoffer was shot to death and then flung over the side like a piece of trash, the attack on the "Cole" and other such hideous acts. Where were the Muslims who condemned those outrages? They were nowhere to be found!

Also we've seen lunatics like Khomeini,Bin Laden,A-jad and the rest of them lead chants of "Death to America" because we don't practice the same religion they do. Gee,why shouldn't Americans be nervous about Islam? The Muslim world have never given us a reason not to. Many people have emigrated to America precisely because of freedom of religion, something the Muslim world has never really practiced. We've heard about what happens in places like Iran,Saudi Arabia, and other places like that. We don't want those things in this country.

If this wasn't bad enough,we have idiots like DeShawn,Flipside, and this twit Debanjan Banerjee blame Jews and Israelis for stuff like this. Their anti-Jewish ramblings are disgusting, vile, childish, and horrible. Jews are people too, guys. They have a right to exist, they shouldn't be treated like vermin simply because you don't like them. Stop with the Jew bashing and try to at least reason with facts, not your anti-Jewish prejudice.
Maybe when the Muslim world stops trying to force their religion on Americans and learns to live in peace with us and the rest of humanity that perhaps, all this violence will cease. Hopefully, one day they will.

    • http://www.contextflexed.com Flipside

I know you can't wrap your head around the fact that I don't hate Jews, but you can keep on going on using the v-words to describe me, like it's still 1989 and this is Newsweek. It's the same as Fruit of Islam freaking out when a white person buys a Final Call, or any other political and religious fundamentalist racist, or socialist being unable to mentally process a Libertarian who thinks they have a right to exist even though they disagree with them. Keep up your Andre Carsonian beliefs that people are out to lynch you because they are not members of your party.

  • stern

Nice try Ghostwriter, but there's no hope for DeShawn, Flipside, Banerjee, the now thankfully absent Muchiboy and their like. These people don't even realize how ill they are.

The sad Irony is that Islam for ages was much more tolerant of Jews than Christians…The antisemitism we see now in the Islamic world is a concretion of Nazi and Communist/Czarist antisemitism with the Islam. Educated Muslims know that the Koran recognizes and respects Judaism. Theologically, Christianity is more anti-Jewish than Islam.

    • tiredofitall

Absolute rubbish! Muslim hatred of Jews and all others began with the Koran, and the slaughter only ceases or reduces when Islam is NOT dominant, or not enforced. You should be ashamed of yourself.

    • Daniel Greenfield

That's a widely held myth. In reality there were major variations throughout history from place to place. Tolerance was usually a matter of the political and economic interests of the king or sultan at a given time.

    • http://dikaesha.pbwiki.com Foolster41

Jew hatred is a part of Islam, it is not a part of Christianity. Jew hatred in Christianity is COUNTER to its teachings. Please spread your Chritianaphobic propaganda somewhere else.
