‘Midnight Cowboy’ Rides Tall in Jerusalem

“We are facing a new Holocaust, and people of all faiths must demand that the truth be heard,” declared Oscar-winning American actor Jon Voight on Monday evening, August 22nd in Jerusalem. Voight, 72, joined former FOX News personality Glenn Beck as the featured speaker at the central train station in Jerusalem in an event commemorating the Holocaust. As a lead up to Beck’s “Restoring Courage” rally on August 24th, Monday evening’s event, which was carried on Beck’s new television network, featured a powerful film about Holocaust survivor Rudy Wolf’s visit to his childhood home in Germany. Other speakers at the event noted the significance of holding a Holocaust-themed evening at the former Jerusalem train station, which recalled the train tracks leading to Auschwitz — tracks that could have been destroyed, but weren’t.

Assuming a flinty posture on the exacerbation of terrorism aimed at Israel, Mr. Voight intoned, “The Palestinian radicals have only one prayer on their lips: To remove every Jew from Israel.” He received a standing ovation when he said, “We will not bend to terrorism in any way, shape, or form for the sake of peace.”

“How have we come to a time when blowing up babies and cutting their throats are an acceptable means to a political goal?” Voight queried his audience, referring to the barbaric murders of five members of the Fogel family in the settlement of Itamar in March of this year. “I feel complete contempt for anyone not intelligent enough to see that the media propaganda portraying the Palestinians as victims endangers the state of Israel,” he continued to rousing applause.

“If you stare evil in the eye, it’s a coward,” Beck told his audience of Christians and Jews. “If you confront your biggest fear, it goes away. It’s not enough to remember the Holocaust, because it has happened time and time again. This will be the generation that stops it in its tracks and says ‘never again, we mean it.’”

Gotta love Jon Voight. But I do take issue with this one statement…

“If you confront your biggest fear, it goes away."

Sometimes, it doesn't. And that's why rational people are so reluctant to confront the truth about Islam, because it won't just go away…it is in fact, a problem seemingly too big to be resolvable. As a result, many just succumb to the wishful thinking that if we say "Islam is peace" often enough, it will become so.

Well, Islam isn't peace…and it's not just "going away." But is it resolvable? When I have friends and family ask me: "What can we do about it?",

My response is always something like this….

"I'm not a guru…I don't have a magic wand or a crystal ball. But first and foremost, we have to start speaking the truth about Islam. Whatever potential solutions out there will emerge after an honest and open exposition of Islamic theology and history. In particular, we have to point out the profound moral failings of the prophet Muhammad as recorded by Islam's own scripture (Hadith and Sira).

Once we infidels have educated our own citizenry, we can begin working on the Muslims themselves. We can utilize their ingrained honor/shame culture in our favor, trying to alienate them from the shameful example of their prophet. Additionally, we can clarify the stark contrast between our own culture of freedom and Islam's stultifying constrictions…instead of papering over these contradictions as we're doing now in the schools and universities.

The end game would be to philosophically, intellectually and emotionally separate Muslims from their faith and encourage a future trend towards apostasy. But keep in mind, regardless of our ability to move the Muslims, we must move ourselves.

We must shout from the rooftops, we must work on family, friends and colleagues, we must shatter myths and false narratives, we must point out the absurdity of moral equivalence (e.g., there is an ever-so-slight difference between Christian conservatives wanting to outlaw gay marriage, and conservative Muslims wanting to execute gays).

We must use the mindset of Churchill, when he implored Brits to "fight on the beaches, on the landing grounds, in the fields and the cities…we shall NEVER SURRENDER."

Well folks, our "beaches" are the schools and universities. Our "landing grounds" are the family gatherings, cocktail parties, discussion groups, etc. Our "fields and cities" are the books we read and endorse to others, the programs we watch, the speakers we celebrate.

We may or may not win this thing, but like ole Winston, I say we go down swinging.

Only problem is my friend, your "Allah" was a contrivance of Muhammad in order to fashion himself a "prophet of God". For 1400 years, you've been worshiping a fraud.

Allah is not a misogynist and never told man to beat his wife (Quran 4.34). This was the ethics of Muhammad.

Allah is not a war-monger and never told believers to "strike off their [unbelievers] heads" (Quran 8.12). These were the words and ethics of Muhammad.

Allah is not a sadistic torturer and never said of the unbelievers that "scalding water shall be poured upon their heads, melting their skins and scalding their bellies; they shall be lashed with rods of iron" (Quran 22.20). These were the words and ethics of Muhammad.

If God exists, he is a loving, merciful God, not the misigynist, war-mongering, sadist who is portrayed in the Quran. That "Allah" is a figment of Muhammad's imagination.

It's never too late for you to open your eyes.

I can never do what you are doing (tripping lightly past any debate about whether or not you should be doing it). I always get mad at some point. Flustered.

          Invariably, I swear. Credibility: *poof*

Just not built for the trenches, I guess.

I am glad that Jon Voight addressed the people of Israel.

He should address the American and European people as well.
We must realize with our current administration
that the conciousness of the Holocaust
is growing momentum here in the US and Europe.
The active embracement of Islam by our government, and major media outlets
(i.e. HBO Latino's "Koran for Latinos,)
    is reminiscent of Hitler's Germany.
The "Homeland Security Forces" as we Islamisize our Republic
might be used against those who oppose and refuse to convert to Islam.
    The FEMA Camps……G-d forbid…..

The FAKE AMERICAN JEWS AND FAKE JEW SUPPORTERS, LIKE OBAMA, will be showing their disgust with Beck for doing this in Israel when they should be standing side by side with him as they profess when they hold out their hand for Jewish donations and give speeches at AIPAC.

God bless Israel, Glenn Beck and every person of good will. I stand with Israel and I proclaim to be from this day forward a Jew who will share in the pain and the ultimate Glory of God. If you come for Israel then you must come for me.

A Jewish (Conservative) friend of mine sums up Islam in these words…"An addition of Muslims to a Nation is a subtraction in civilization."
I saw a truck on the net with a painting of the Twin Towers on 9-11 which siad.."I learned everything I need to know about Islam on 9-11." Islam has been disected in two sentences. I love the aroma of succinctness in the morning !

Until Islam departs this world, there wll be never-ending struggle. They and their religion are the antithesis of everything that the West stands for.

Years ago, we said, "Better dead than red." As we depose our red leaders in the United States, next year, let us take up Jon Voight's battle cry, "We will not bend to terrorism in any way, shape, or form for the sake of peace." And make no mistake, terrorism and Islam are one and the same …

Someone at the 9-11 rally last year had a sign of people jumping out of the World Trade Center on 9-11 and the sign said, "Should We All Jump for Islam?"

  • MaoYing

Yes, Islam is definitely the antithesis of everything the west stands for. Consequently, there is no way it is a religion in any way, shape, or form. It is a political movement. And an incredibly dangerous political movement at that. Which means the word "Islamophobia" is a scam because there is no such thing as Islamophobia. That is, because the political movement known as Islam is such a dangerous threat to the health and welfare of people all over the world, we are dealing with SURVIVAL here when it comes to Islam, phobias don't even enter the equation.

    • Ron Carnine

Dear Mao, I agree with your statement except for "there is no way it is a religion in any way, shape, or form." Islam is a religion with its own scripture, doctrine, ethic. That's what makes it so dangerous. Muslim's sacrifice their lives because they believe Islam's doctrine of a sexual heaven, they believe they are doing the will of Allah in killing and destroying their non-Muslim neighbors. While it does have aspects of politics and it is a "threat to the health and welfare of people all over the word…" these threats are clothed in religion's clothes it seeks to do the will of God but actually does the work of Satan (to steal, kill, and destroy'." You are right when you say,"we are dealing with survival here". If we don't wake soon it will be too late.

Read of the 400 years of Islamic opression of Greece. Read how Islam imposed conversion to Islam on the Greeks or die. Read of the massacre of Armenians and the Greeks by Muslims. Then tell me that Islam is a religion of peace. Christianity made many horrific mistakes but Christianity today is not the Christianity of the Inquisition and the Crusades. Islam, however, is still the religion of death. You won't find the words of Jesus "forgive your enemies, love your enemies" in Islam. In Islam it's always death to the unbelievers. I do not accept a previous post of moral equivalency of Christianity standing against gay marriage vs Islam's desire to kill gays. Civil unions are not good enough for gays. The gay community knows better. They cannot accept that they are different. The definition of marriage must change. The gay community has spoken. Christianity can pound sand.

With all this in mind, it is easy to see that besides being a threat to our very SURVIVAL, muslims have also scammed everyone with their "Islamophobia Scam". Obviously, the muslims picked this up from the "Racism Scam" that is so popular with all the minorities of the United States. Furthermore, as the muslims qualify as a minority in the United States, they can play both scams–that is, the muslims can play both the "Islamophobia Scam" and the "Racism Scam" on government and society and get away with both of them because they are a minority, plus, they have the help of the other minorities and liberals and the "government-media" complex to carry out both scams. As the muslims can play two scams instead of just one, you just know the other minorities are jealous as all get out.

Jon Voight use to be a liberal, but as he looked at the world, he learned to look at it through different eyes. Now, he sees the Obama adminstration for what it is. He understands as Beck has, the evil designs of Islam on the world. Once this administration is voted out of power, the new administration needs to restore its support for Israel. The Arab Revolutions are not a victory for democracy. Instead, Radical Islam and Shariah Law seems to be the winners. In this situation, our support for Israel is all the more important. What Beck has spoken of, the Islamic Caliphate, is slowly being assembled. What country will be the center of it: Turkey or Iran??? That may be decided in Syria.
