    as i see it the principal problem in the revolutions in the middle east is whether these revolts are in the spirit of the late great turkish secularist, kemal ataturk or rather is an attempt to impose strict islamic rule overthis explosive region. if it is the former there is hope for a blossoming of positive creativity of giantic propportions but if it is the latter not only is the survival of israel at stake butalso it could open the gates of medieval bigotry and chaos. bob maram
