Bob Beckel’s Che Guevara Romance

Pages: 1 2

“I still have my Che Guevara poster. Che Guevara was a freedom fighter.” (Bob Beckel on FoxNews’ “The Five,” Sept. 5th)

If Bob Beckel’s “freedom-fighter”  had been allowed his fondest bit of “freedom-fighting,” Bob Beckel’s incinerated remains would fit in a gin bottle today. “America is the great enemy of mankind! Against those hyenas there is no option but extermination!…If the missiles had remained, we would have fired them against the very heart of the U.S., including New York City.”

For the record: Ernesto “Che” Guevara was second in command, chief executioner, and chief KGB liaison for a regime that jailed more political prisoners per capita than did Stalin’s during the Great Terror and murdered more people (out of a population of 6.4 million) in its first three years in power than Hitler’s murdered (out of a population of 70 million) in its first six. Many, perhaps most, of those murdered and jailed by the regime Che Guevara co-founded were Batista opponents.

The Stalinist regime Che Guevara imposed on Cuba also stole the savings and property of 6.4 million citizens, made refugees of 20 percent of the population from a nation formerly deluged with immigrants and whose citizens had achieved a higher standard of living than those residing in half of Europe. Many opponents of the regime Che Guevara co-founded qualify as the longest-suffering political prisoners in modern history, having suffered prison camps, forced labor and torture chambers for a period three times as long in Che Guevara’s Gulag as Alexander Solzhenitsyn suffered in Stalin’s Gulag. Most of these had been Batista opponents.

“Don’t put him in a list of fascists. The fascists [Batista] were the ones he was trying to get rid of.” (Bob Beckel on FoxNews’ “The Five,” Sept. 5th)

For the record:  According to the Cuba Archive Project, the Castro regime – with firing squads, forced-labor camps, torture and drownings at sea – has caused an estimated 102,000 Cuban deaths. According to the Harper Collins Atlas of the Second World War, Nazi repression caused 172,260 French civilian deaths during the occupation. France was a nation of 42 million in 1940. Cuba was a nation of 6.5 million in 1960. My calculator reveals that Beckel’s freedom-fighter caused an enormously higher percentage of deaths among the people he “freed” than the Nazis caused among the French they enslaved and tortured with the SS and Gestapo.

Beckel tells the “Fox Five” that the CIA killed many more people than Che and implies that in the ’50s the agency was Che’s enemy.

In fact, during the late 1950s the Castro brothers and Che Guevara had no better friends — and Fulgencio Batista few worse enemies — than the CIA. “Me and my staff were all Fidelistas.” (Robert Reynolds, the CIA’s “Caribbean Desk’s specialist on the Cuban Revolution” from 1957-1960.)

“Everyone in the CIA and everyone at State was pro-Castro, except (Republican) ambassador Earl Smith.” (CIA operative in Santiago Cuba, Robert Weicha.)

“Don’t worry. We’ve infiltrated Castro’s guerrilla group in the Sierra Mountains. The Castro brothers and Ernesto “Che” Guevara have no affiliations with any Communists whatsoever.” (Crackerjack Havana CIA station chief Jim Noel 1958, emphasis added.)

“Listen, we [the U.S.] did not have the most stellar reputation in Latin America and South America during the 1950s and ’60s….when the CIA was complicit in the assassination of Allende, that was killing a head of state.” (Bob Beckel)

Ground control to Major Bob: Allende died in the ’70s. But whatever. The leftist proverb that he was assassinated by the CIA was spun and spread only by the hardest of hard-left wackos. Not even Allende’s own family believed it. An investigation, including an autopsy by Chilean authorities just last month, confirmed that Salvador Allende committed suicide. Surely you read The New York Times, Bob?

Many liberals argue: "He was a doctor." "He meant well" Geez, he was a mass murderer.

    • PhillipGaley

In the way of Francis Bacon's assertion (actually, teaching drawn from the ancient Greek school) that, "That which is aggressively asserted, and plausibly supported, is the law.", Guevara was fully enamored of the ease in which—with mere slogans and force of personality—getting power and living over an unlearned native people, was.
But further, in his death, that modus operandi or algorithm and consequent paradigm did not diminish of lessen, . . .

      • Anamah

I can say it shorter: he was a son of a bitch, however his mother was a good woman from the high society became middle class, he was a cockroach racist and cruel. Ernesto Guevara Lynch, an Argentinian guy…

    • UCSPanther

Heinrich Himmler was a doctor as well, and he pretty much did the same thing Guevera did, but only he is remembered in infamy.

Che was a freakin' loser just as Bob Beckel is, "He should be on the Biggest Loser TV Show. He's a draft dodger, Joined the PEACE CORP to stay out of the military. Calls a
HOOKER to his own house for a BJ. This guy really is a dope, but then maybe he didn't know that a war in Viet Nam was going on. His idea was let somebody else, Like Bill Clinton another Draft dodger get shot. Beckel is a disgrace to this country
      and the news media.

Please email this to "The Five". I'm computer illiterate, but I'd sure like to hear Bob's reaction on Fox this afternoon!

  • WilliamJamesWard

Beckel is always contrary and averse to the historical facts of anything that
sheds light on the fact leftists are criminals and conservatives have high
standards. Why Fox gives this oaf a platform can only be to exemplify the
idiocy of leftists camoflauged as liberals. Che was a bad man and anyone
who touts him as a hero is and idiot, mentally deranged or both and shares
in the blood staining his crused life…………………………………William

I wonder if these limousine liberals praise this murderer just to piss off conservatives. It goes to my point that the left is often the side that reacts.
The term "reactionary" is usually applied to conservatives, but to me, the left reacts to the right.
The right has principles. It's grounded.
    The left doesn't. It drifts.

Is there any way to get bob beckel's email address, I would love to send him this great historical story from Humberto.

I posted the below, accompanied by a link to the above opinion piece, to share on the two Facebook accounts I am directly responsible for. Also, kudos to the 8th Special Forces Group ("Green Berets" based in Panama) which, in the late 1960s, sent a Mobile Training Team (MTT) to Bolivia to help stand up the Bolivian Army 'Ranger' battalion that eventually cornered Che Guevara. The 8th is no longer in existence. In 1970 I walked into the 8th's headquarters at Fort Gulick, Panama Canal Zone. In the unit's trophy case of various military athletic trophies was writing pen taken off of Che's dead body.

"Remember that, until a few months ago, at 4pm (local time) we could watch Glenn Beck on the FOX News Channel. Now it's a show called 'The Five'. One of 'The Five's' panelist is hack Bob Beckel (the fat one who always wears suspenders). Now, after reading the below, I have another reason to disdain Bob Beckel and continue to miss 'The Five'."

Fox News has switched sides, as evidenced by the replacement of Glen Beck with Bob Beckel and turning the O'Reilly Factor into "the O'Reilly and Colmes Show." I thought when Hannity got rid of Alan Colmes we would not be subjected to his nightly rants in support of anything socialistic. O'Reilly must have a soft spot for the left wing failures since he was responsible for bringing Geraldo Riveria over to Fox after he was canned by CNN. But his resurecting a bird brain like Alan Colmes and giving him a forum to parrot his pathetic left wing diatribes makes me wonder if Murdock isn't trying to redeem himself and save hi media empire after being attacked by the British Leftist who are trying to take down his empire using their legal system. It won't work Rupert. Making Fox just another left wing propaganda outlet will only alienate your loyal followers. Just remember we still have talk radio and the internet,.

      • Indioviejo

MinnieM, Murdoch made a deal with Saudi Prince Alwaleed, who invested in Fox and Murdoch in Al-Jazeera. Fox has changed a great deal over the last year, and they have lost me as an audience.

  • Hardball

Exactly why I named my black Labrador, "Noche Guevara"… as in "NO-Che"

  • vlparker

I'm amazed anyone can watch Beckel long enough without changing the channel to actually hear what he has to say. As soon as I see his face the remote is in overdrive.

    • dan

      Oh the irony!

From Wikipedia: "(Graham) Beckel portrayed oil tycoon Ellis Wyatt in Atlas Shrugged (2011), the film version of Ayn Rand's novel of the same name.

Graham Beckel is the brother of Bob Beckel, a Democratic political adviser and senior analyst at Fox News."

    • jack

Both Beckel and Juan Williams are, to me, quite objectionable. It makes me wonder about FNC and their policy of "Fair and Balanced". I am absolutely sick of seeing Juan Williams. Both of them get the remote treatment when they appear.

      • Anamah

I have solved that: I do not watch Fox anymore…really this kind of pedantic people, deep throat interrupting others with boring Progressives talking in EVERY FOX TV SHOWS it seems comming from the SOROS OBAMA way to destroy FOX and going against Mr Murdoch. Very sad example of how evil and disruptive can their ideology be.

  • theleastthreat

I the last few weeks, we heard of Jane Fonda's regrets over missing out on a romantic interlude with CG, and now Beckel, who would have made a devoted water boy for the monster, Do libs juist hate to read?

  • Jim

Che was not Spanish,Che was not Cuban he was actually a Basque. Thus he was a foreigner meddling in Cuban affairs. He was soon recognized by Fidel as an uncontrollable
wild card. He was the Bela Kuhn of Cuba .Just as Stalin recognized that Bela was more trouble than he was worth and so liquidated him , Castro sent Che to Bolivia where certainly Che would be killed.

Che and his atrocities were considered to be against the revolution's interest

    • old white guy

crap, every commie is uncontrolable. look at barak the magic one. holy sh-t.

    • Anamah

No Jim, he was Argentinian, South American … totally psychopathic guy.

  • Chiggles
  • BLJ

Beckel is a toad. Maybe he can move to Cuba to be closer to his commie friends.

  • Ghostwriter

Sadly,I don't think that Beckel read this or any column by Mr. Fontova. Maybe he'd learn something.

  • Anamah

Ernesto Guevara Lynch was a Argentinian resentful young from an upper middle class family fallen on hard times, a mediocre student of medicine. Unsatisfied, asthmatic, racist and sadistic may be thought to find a way to became important as Communist revolutionary bullying with Fidel Castro. He became a a passionate serial killer finding his minute of glory in each cruelty demonstration. The guy renamed the "Che" was an obsessive executioner of innocent people specially without a trial.
I would like to know why Fox News has ruined its shows hiring the Beckels, Williams, Colmes, and lot of talking robotic parrots operating in automatic 24/7 as unbearable offense to viewer's intelligence.(Even in Fox Business) Simply Mr Murdoch lost me. They are so pedantic and ignorant as ideological indoctrinated. Was the political pressure from Soros, Lloyd or what??? Wrong move!!!

    • BS61

They have become the new, not to be trusted MSM!

  • myohmy

Bob Beckel is a former crackhead who's brain should be removed and shown to children so they'd never smoke crack and wind up stupid like Beckel. Che was not a freedom fighter nor a champion of the labor movement. He was a murdering henchman and enforcer for Castro. I'm old enough to remember when the 2 Castro brothers and Che won Cuba from Batista and they did it with the help of our own CIA and then turned on us. The first week after seizing power they executed 1,100 political prisoners. Che presided over the summary executions and I saw films of Cubans lined up at slit trenches and shot by firing squad and after falling into the trench Che personally shot them in the head with his pistrol. That's all he was, a killer.

  • Indioviejo

The FNC got rid of Beck for a group of lightweights and it is probably showing in their ratings. The fact that no one challenged Beckel in his stupidity tells more of the group than anything else.

    • BS61

I believ e Eric Bolling did – no? I watch Fox Business instead – they have more interesting things on. But the internet is a God send!

  • Che Guevara T-shirt

Thanks , I’ve recently been searching for information about this subject for ages and yours is the greatest I’ve discovered so far. However, what concerning the conclusion? Are you sure about the supply?

  • BS61

Thanks Humberto for continuing to spread the truth!
