Britain Bans Michael Savage — But Welcomes Castroite Butchers

Pages: 1 2

After two years of legal wrangling, radio-host Michael Savage is still banned from setting foot in Britain. The original ban handed down in May 2009 was explained by former Labor Home Secretary Jacqui Smith: “Coming to the U.K. is a privilege,” she said,

“[A]nd I refuse to extend that privilege to individuals who abuse our standards and values and who foster extremist views as I want them to know that they are not welcome here. Mr. Savage engages in unacceptable behavior by seeking to provoke others to serious criminal acts and fostering hatred.”

The current “Conservative” British administration of David Cameron holds fast to the ban. “Your client has not provided any evidence to show that he did not commit the unacceptable behaviour that caused the decision to exclude him,” recently wrote British government spokesman Michael Atkins to Michael Savage’s attorney.

Instead of the false contrition, groveling, and confessions that Stalin, Mao and Che Guevara demanded from the subjects they accused of “thought crimes” (before murdering them), Michael Savage had sought to repudiate his listing alongside terrorists and Nazis by resorting to the tenets of Western jurisprudence and presenting evidence to the contrary.

“His bad” some might quip regarding the strategy. In today’s Britain, what’s left of the Magna Carta only works in favor of actual Islamic terrorists.

One month after insulting and banning Michael Savage in 2009, Britain opened her arms to Che Guevara’s daughter, Aleida. The occasion was a celebration in London titled Cuba50, billed as “the biggest European celebration in the 50th anniversary year of the Cuban Revolution.” In London’s expansive Barbican Centre, Britain threw the continent’s biggest party commemorating fifty years of Castro’s Stalinist regime, which jailed political prisoners at a higher rate than Stalin’s, murdered political prisoners at a higher rate than pre-war Hitler’s, and came closest of any regime to plunging the world into nuclear war. Che’s daughter was there to promote, in her own words: “my father’s ideals, his concerns, and his ambitions. I believe that my father is a banner to the world.”

Fine. Let’s have a look at Aleida’s father’s “ambitions,” mindful that what got Michael Savage banned from Britain was his purported “fostering of extremist views” and his “hate speech.”

“Hatred is the central element of our struggle!” raved Ernesto “Che” Guevara in his 1966 Message to the Tricontinental Conference in Havana:

Hatred so violent that it propels a human being beyond his natural limitations, making him a violent and cold-blooded killing machine…We reject any peaceful approach. Violence is inevitable. To establish Socialism rivers of blood must flow… These hyenas [Americans] are fit only for extermination. We must keep our hatred alive and fan it to paroxysm! The victory of Socialism is well worth millions of atomic victims!

Aleida Guevara sounds a lot like Obama, in that she would love to carry out her father's dreams. Isn't it odd? As bad as their fathers (parents) where they both still want to please their failed parents. Reminds me of a dog returning to eat it's own vomit. I'm very lucky I had wonderful parents. As far as Britain goes, they are so screwed up we can only hope we learn from watching them fail and pay a huge price for their stupidity. If Michael Savage wasn't a caring, loving and honorable man he wouldn't even fight the fight. God bless you Dr. Savage.

    • Marcos

Fontova is a notorious LIAR with no credibility.

+ American right-wingers like to ignore the inconvenient fact that Che Guevara battled 3 U.S.-backed dictators on 3 separate continents (Batista/Cuba, Mobutu/Congo, & Barrientos/Bolivia).

The right-wing also likes to avoid acknowledging that Che's radicalism was spawned from living in Guatemala during the 1953 overthrow of Jacobo Arbenz by the CIA (Operation PBSUCCESS) on behalf of Secretary of State Dulles and the United Fruit Company.

As the Cuban Revolution and Che proved, when given the decision of backing a democratic government that represents the interests of the majority of a nation’s citizens or a right-wing dictator who will protect the business interests of the United States = the U.S. will always chose the latter.

The best thing Americans can do is avoid traveling to the UK. Hit them where it hurts the most, on their pocket.

    • Canadian Jen

The best thing Teabaggers can do is turn off the Glenn Beck, stop watching Sarah Palin, and quit trusting the words of this comical anti-Cuba propagandist Humberto Fontova who hasn't set foot in Cuba in 50 years !!!

I visit Cuba all the time and it is a wonderful place – far safer than most U.S. cities. REAL Cubans also recognize Che as the HERO he was.

Taking Fontova's word on Che would be like asking Bin Laden about your slave-holding hero George Washington.

      • Cuban Refugee

The best thing you can do, Canadian Jen, is to join the rest of your ignorant ilk, and spew your detritus at the Huffington Post ,, and other agents of hate and division.

      • Rocky Mountain

Why should we even listen to a Canadian? As I understand it, you frozen cretins are fond of hounding people and threatening them with criminal and civil penalties if they so much as utter a word in opposition to your leftist world view.

I wont even buy from bp. Not so much as a pack of gum, just because they're bp. I wonder how this lover of hate feels about her father being assassinated by castro? Maybe castro IS her real dad though, who knows.

      • Swedgie

how British is BP? Obviously it’s listed in London. And it’s got a British CEO. But BP employs 23,000 people in the US, compared to 10,000 UK workers. Around 40 per cent of BP’s shares are held in the UK. But around the same proportion is held in the US. And a glance at BP’s 2009 report (p29)shows that 26 per cent of BP’s crude oil production comes from the US (665,000 barrels a day out of 2,535,000 globally). A similar proportion of BP’s natural gas comes from the US. And 18 per cent of its oil is sold in the US too. And BP’s entire US operation is largely an inheritance from the 1998 merger with Amoco under Lord Browne.

It is obvious that those who oppose Marxism and its misery have become a minority in this rapidly falling world. In the war of good vs. evil, the forces of malevolence appear to be winning. To those of us who experienced life under communism, and see beyond its propaganda, it is incomprehensible that the U.K. would deny Dr. Savage the privilege of travel to its shores, and instead welcome a gaggle of communists to spread their philosophy. In better days, the open arms of a free society might have been opened for Michael Savage; by their actions, the Cameron government bureaucrats have shown that the rapacious tentacles of tyranny and repression of communism have Britain in their grasp.

    • StephenD

Here! Here! Except for one point, I agree with your assessment. We that oppose Marxism are not in the minority. It just seems that way because the MSM and the P.C. folks in politics have the bull horn. We have to find a way to get as loud is all.

      • Cuban Refugee

Yes, Stephen, the people who oppose Marxism will always be in the majority; however, those who would propagate and enforce it have gained a toehold on the power base throughout the world — you need not go further than the U.S., and its federal and local governments, to see how well-positioned, the destructive forces who would control every aspect of our lives, and plant their heavy boots on the backs of our necks, are situated to effect the fall of capitalism in our lifetime.

        • Angel

Perhaps, it is time to take out the axe and cut the toe.

          • derekcrane

We would not be cutting off the toe, we would be removing a cancer.

        • Nancy

          Very well stated Cuban Refugee!

      Well said!!

Remember this is the home of Henry The 8th who murdered his wives..and Cromwell who who practiced genocide against the Irish and murdered millions..just for being Catholic. Britain is a sick society that exported communism via the Dulles brothers to the USA via the Fabian Society…now they must kow- tow to the Muslims that have over run their country.. they do not deserve a visit from Dr. Savage..

    • Canadian Jen

Humberto Fontova is a shrill clown who literally lies at about a rate of 5 times per paragraph. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY outside of a few right-wing blogs and websites even give this doofus the time of day! In any other country Fontova would have a bull horn and be wearing a sandwich board while warning of the coming apocalypse! The pasty white Fontova is just mad that his family lost their slave labor and the mansion that went with it. To top it off his war criminal daddy was held prisoner for a few weeks (cry me a river). Seeing that Fontova's only real skill is shooting deer and drinking beer, he decided to make a career writing ignorant anti-Castro/Che propaganda for the illiterate Teabagger demographic. However, his LIES would make Goebbels blush.

  • MBA NJ

Inconsistencies abound everywhere, but when we are discussing the very survival of a nation versus an irritant, one has to wonder where the sane folks have gone to–on a permanent vacation???

    • ebonystone

Many of the "sane folk" are leaving Britain. Last year there was a record number of immigrants (mostly 3rd World) to Britain, and a record number of emigrants (mostly indigenous Brits). I believe the numbers were ca. 580,000 immigrants, and ca. 330,000 emigrants. These figures, combined with the high birth rates of the immigrants and the low birth rates of the indigenous, mean that the date of the Moslem majority is closed than ever anticipated. I wonder if Canada is ready to take in the royal family.

June 6 is the anniversary of my arrival in The United States from England as a youth. Grown up here – love this Great Nation – was planning a return trip/holiday to England this August, but I fear that if Michael Savage is banned for his views I might end up in gaol because I agree with many of his. Actually, I am ashamed that England, the beacon of freedom and free speech, allows hateful and revengeful muslims center court but imposes silence on voices capable of stating the truth of allah's revenge on mankind!

  • LindaRivera

"Hatred so violent that it propels a human being beyond his natural limitations, making him a violent and cold-blooded killing machine" They call themselves communists, preferring not to use their real name: Children of the devil. That "cold-blooded killing machines" (their description of themselves) are allowed and even welcomed into the UK, says a lot about UK leaders. G-D help and protect the British people.

    • Canadian Jen

No doubt the pasty-white former plantation owners and mafia pimps in Miami who ran Cuba before the revolution think everyone else share's their priorities … but this is not the case. In fact, over the last twenty years, it's apparent that Latin America as a whole is fed up with the colonial arrogance of not just US imperialism, but the local vassals and stooges who earn their keep selling out their own people.

Listening to the cowardly gusanos like Fontova wail and cry … it's like music. You lost. Fidel & Che whooped your fascist little assess and now you want sympathy? Get real. The Miami mafia and Batista lost. You will never get the land back. You will never again turn Cuba into your brothel.

Remember this: the USA "BUTCHERS" still occupy one part of Cuba: Guantanamo Bay. The USA uses it as a torture camp. That's a fact. You can run all the "democracy" BS you want. Those who support US domination of Cuba already have a crystal clear example of what that means.

History has already absolved Fidel and honored Che as an icon of freedom.
      Deal with it.
      Us Canadians already have :o)

      • Cuban Refugee

Canadian Jen: You may not realize it, but you are deep in the throes of the communist indoctrination that you have been fed since infancy. I invite you to visit the real Cuba — the part that tourists are forbidden to see — to snap you out of your neat, pre-conceived notions about the wonders of life in a repressive, totalitarian state. Better yet, if you think Cuba is so wonderful, why don't you just stay there … Canada must pale in comparison to Castro's lovely gulag. Before too long, you will be joining others who would prefer to risk shark-infested waters to flee such "freedom." Jen, you must investigate both sides if you wish to be taken seriously — as of today's posting, you are as clueless as your tired icon … :o).

      • Major Dick Bong

Millions of my people died, but you would pretend they never existed in the first place. Like it's all just U.S. propaganda.

Take a tour of the New York Times building and ask them where they keep that Pulitzer Walter Duranty won.

The 20th century happened, Jen. Look it up. Our continent was the only one to escape the slaughterhouse.

  • Stuart Parsons

Yes you are right, we Brits aint perfect. However, I seem to recall you tipped our tea into Boston harbour and have still not paid for it. Did you not also, slaughter Indians, steal their land and put them on reservations. We all live in glasshouses and should refrain from throwing stones.

    • theleastthreat

Honestly, that can't be your best analysis, can it? As you recall, an entire Gulf was fouled by one of your companies and an entire sub-continent of Indians was subjugated by the Crown. If you anticipate replying, then touche would do nicely.

    – Worked in a Leper colony and treated lepers (as seen in the excellent film ‘The Motorcycle Diaries’)

    – Was instrumental in teaching over 900,000 Cubans to read

    – Tended to thousands of sick campesinos

    – Helped construct dozens of schools throughout Cuba

    – Removed the Mafia and dictatorship of Batista from Cuba which had killed 20,000 Cubans and tortured thousands more

    – Desegregated the schools in Cuba before they were in the Southern US

    – Called out South Africa’s Apartheid in 1964, 30 years before the West!

    – Denounced the racism and KKK in America

    – Warned of the dangers of the IMF, 3 decades before most of the developing world realized they had been scammed into debt slavery

    • Marcos

      Che’s “CRIMES” were:

~ Stopping American companies from owning 70 % of the arable land in Cuba

~ Teaching peasants to read, by bringing the Cuban literacy rate from 60 to 97 %

~ Having the 200 or so War Criminals who killed 20,000 Cubans for Batista shot against a wall

~ Fighting white mercenaries in the African Congo with an all black army

~ Speaking out against US and eventually USSR Imperialism while demanding that the poor of the world be allowed to live a life of dignity

      • Cuban Refugee

Marcos: Where do you get your information? The Bizarro World? A parallel universe? Are you so gullible that you have fallen for the propaganda being fed to you by the communist machine. Che was a fraud — a coward — a psychopath — a murderer — an evil bastard whose raison d'etre was to do harm to others. He despised blacks – was a world-class racist. Guess what, Marcos? There is evidence that he was not even a doctor as he purported to be … that made him a liar as well. Why don't you read Humberto Fontova's work, especially his excellent book, "Exposing the Real Che Guevara and the Useful Idiots Who Idolize Him;" you might find yourself described therein.

  • Ghostwriter

Unbelievable!!! I've read some ignorant things in my life but what those like Marcos and his ilk are saying tops them all!!! There are thousands of Cubans every year who try to escape Castro's island prison for freedom in America. Many of them end up drowning in the ninety mile strait between Cuba and Florida. Also, don't forget that Cuba has been condemned for years for it's human rights violations by every credible organization out there. It's people aren't free to express their opinions lest they end up in prison or worse.
Sadly it seems that places like Britain don't want to hear the other side of the equation. They don't want to hear from Cuban-Americans who lost loved ones to the Castro brothers. They only want to hear from idiots like Marcos who continue to say the same stupid things in spite of the facts that they know to themselves to be true.

  • Unkldave

Shame on Canadian Jen for ad homien drivel, state your position, back it with facts, let truth carry the day and light it's self evident way. Speaking of self evident, Marcos, please, literacy taught to 900,000 literally? Only dozens of schools? Thousands of sick peasants, tended to how? Exactly what treatment for leprosy, a cure? How amazing, all that other stuff too! WOW…Saint Che anybody? I will not quibble regarding the IMF (nobody likes them).

  • Anamah

As Guevara liked to preen himself about his fantasies about how much he enjoyed the smell of humane blood. He was a despicable sadist and cruel guy, with no sentiments but pure heinous ideology. He was very courageous when armed in front of handcuffed prisoners shooting straight to their head.

  • Rob Jones

I don't like Michael Savage's inflammatory rhetoric. But I'm the kind of kook who simply doesn't listen to his show.

Those of you who think this lone government troll's five minutes of fascist power are some sort of example of a marxist conspiracy are using your imaginations. Clearly they would ban Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, Boortz, Horowitz, and every other major right-wing speaker if there were any such conspiracy. But don't let common sense stop you from making much-ado about nothing.

When power changes hands over there, this thing will be over.

  • barr2y

Forget about welcoming Castroite butchers…the U.K. banned Savage for "extremist views," which is essentially a thought crime, but much more farcical than that is the fact that the U.K. allows the most rabid, foaming at the mouth Islamists to spew the most hateful, Hitler-like rhetoric at huge rallies across England…I wish the article focused more on that, because there is truly encyclopedic amount of evidence of England allowing those people to promulgate hatred and actual extremism. The bottom line is that the U.K., and other European countries so many Europhilic morons in the U.S. admire are literallly unfree countries period.
