Cesar Chavez Confidante Tries to Cover Up Fidel’s Crimes

The list of Mexican-Americans decorated for valor by the U.S. Navy is long and glorious. The list of Navy Gold-Star mothers of Mexican heritage is equally long and glorious. It’s bad enough to ignore these heroes and heroines when rummaging for a “Hispanic” name for a U.S. Navy ship. It’s even worse to name the ship after the co-founder of an organization that defends the murder of a decorated Hispanic Navy vet and lobbies for the convicted murderer’s release on behalf of a State-Sponsor-of-Terrorism that craved to nuke the U.S. To wit:

Dolores Huerta co-founded the United Farm Workers of America with Cesar Chavez and still serves as its “Vice President emeritus.” Nowadays she busies herself as an (unregistered) agent of the Castro regime lobbying for the release of a Castroite terrorist serving two life terms after conviction by U.S. juries on espionage and conspiracy to commit murder. In the parlance of the Castro regime and their agents (on the payroll and off) this terrorist and his accomplices are known as “The Cuban Five.”  Here’s Cesar Chavez’s soul-sister reading Castro’s script about them.

Now here’s some background on “The Cuban Five” you won’t get either from Ms Huerta or from her soul-sisters and brothers in the MSM:

On September 14, 1998, the FBI uncovered a Castro spy ring in Miami and arrested 10 of them. Five were convicted by U.S. juries (from which Cuban-Americans were scrupulously excluded) of espionage and of conspiracy to commit murder (of a decorated U.S. Marine.) One of the terrorists serves two life sentences and the convictions of all five were upheld by an appeals court. According to the FBI’s affidavit, the 26 charges against the convicted Castro-terrorists championed by the soul-sister of a Navy ship’s namesake include:

•Gathering intelligence against the Boca Chica Air-Naval Station in Key West, the McDill Air Force Base in Tampa and the headquarters of the U.S. Southern Command in Homestead, Fla. (which includes the U.S. Navy’s 4th Fleet.)

•Compiling the names, home addresses and medical files of the U.S. Southern Command’s top officers, along with those of hundreds of Naval officers stationed at Boca Chica Naval station.

•Infiltrating the headquarters of the U.S. Southern Command.

•Sending letter bombs to Cuban-Americans.

•Spying on McDill Air Force Base, the U.S. armed forces’ worldwide headquarters for fighting “low-intensity” conflicts.

•Locating entry points into Florida for smuggling explosives.

Huerta’s poster-boys also infiltrated the Cuban-exile group Brothers to the Rescue who flew unarmed planes to rescue Cuban rafters in the Florida straits, also known as “the cemetery without crosses.” The estimates of the number of Cubans dying horribly of thirst, exposure, drowning and shark attacks in the “cemetery without crosses” run from 20,000-60,000.

Ok Humberto , Cesar Chavez died in '93 . The Ship is named after Cesar Chavez , NOT Dolores Huerta .
So what is your objection to the ship being named after Cesar Chavez ?

    • Jay

Because commie activists shouldn't have ships named after them. Sounds like a good enough reason to complain.

"Holding a trial for five Cuban intelligence agents in Miami is about as fair as a trial for an Israeli intelligence agent in Tehran. You'd need a lot more than a good lawyer to be taken seriously."

They murdered and were convicted under our laws, you can always give it a try and live under Cuban authoritarian's system of law for a change , but since I wish harm to anybody I want you back in US as soon as possible

This story seems a bit discombobulated to me. If Delores Huerta is working to get these convicterd Castro supporting swine off, fine do a story about that and how she has become a "excuser" for the murderer Castro and his acolytes. If Mr. Fontova is opining that a Mexican American or Cuban American or any other Hispanic American is deserving of a ship named after him or her, as a non Hispanic American I am fine with that. I know that there are a great many Hispanic American patriots. But this is two separate articles I believe.

Don't you think that a Medal of Honor winner like Peralta should have had priority? After all, he gave his life in duty to his country!

Murdered Brothers to The Rescue, beautiful HEROES, rest in peace.

As I said Cesar Chavez passed away in 1993 , the "Cuban Terrorists " were busted in 1998, Huerta , for whatever her reasons , they were not connected in any way to Chavez , Humberto casts slanderous aspersions , makes baseless asssumptions against a dead man . Humberto has no proof nor facts that would support or allude to Chavez even taking a position that Huerta took . Me thinks , Humberto's got an ax to grind with organized labor , for that is ALL , Chavez dedicated his life for , many American folk singers lent their voices for the cause of the downtrodden farmworkers ….were they "communists " ? What Huerta did five years after Chavez died is irrelevant to his cause and the organization . Chavez was a good man and an AMERICAN , not a communist .

    • Dax LeBaron

Cesar Chavez was a Communist with ties to our enemies. He no more deserves a ship named after him than Adolf Hitler does.

  • Amused

As for naming a US Naval ship after Chavez , it can be argued that , only military heroes , Presidents , Sec.s of Defense etc. should be used . However i have no great problem with that argument nor in fact naming a ship after Chavez . But slandering and denigrating a great man , for the sake of an argument against naming a ship after him is petty and DISPICABLE.

Fontova is a notorious LIAR and right-wing smear merchant.

He has no crediblity and is usually just ignored in most circles.

    • Jerry Kulyk

What are His lies and whom is He smearing? JoseX, be specific and quit the name calling.

According to the Fascist Right, a hippie sticking a flower in a gun barrel is a terrorist…

    • Jerry Kulyk

I would argue that the left is more fascist than the right. We didn't have TSA feeling up kids under Bush. We din't have NLRB telling private companies where they could relocate. Just a few examples of the lefts fascism. I am old enough to know that no one called hippies sticking a flower in a gun barrel a terrorist. You are aptly named/

Cesar Chavez was no great man. The mexicans he proported to help and still living in destitute conditions. Like all union leaders he was a thug. And no matter what names you call critics of Das Comrade chavez wont blind people to the truth about him

  • Viva Chavez

Unhappy with shamelessly lying about Fidel Castro, and Che Guevara – the laughable right-wing propagandist & revisionist polemicist Humberto Fontova has now set his sights on Cesar Chavez.

Fontova is a shrill clown who literally lies at about a rate of 5 times per paragraph. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY outside of a few right-wing blogs and websites even give this doofus the time of day! In any other country Fontova would have a bull horn and be wearing a sandwich board while warning of the coming apocalypse! The pasty white Fontova is just mad that his family lost their slave labor and the mansion that went with it. To top it off his war criminal daddy was held prisoner for a few weeks (cry me a river).

Seeing that Fontova's only real skill is shooting deer and drinking beer, he decided to make a career writing ignorant anti-Castro/Che/Cuba propaganda for the illiterate Teabagger demographic. However, his LIES would make Goebbels blush.

  • Mark in Chi town

Fontova is clearly a polemicist. His frequent use of profanity and childish insults in most of his articles also points him more towards sophistry than scholarship. His work is not taken seriously in the academic community because he purposely omits all information that fails to conform to his desired narrative. He works backwards by starting with his conclusion = and then inserts any cherry picked information that will help support this view. Readers should not be left with the impression from this article that he is a serious researcher, it would be an insult to all those that truly investigate for the truth.

Plus, the fact that Fontova has written in support of terrorist Luis Posada Carriles (who blew up an airliner with children) and the right-wing dictator Augusto Pinochet (who killed 3,000 people) also speaks volumes.

    • Republicrat

Men get your facts straight , the murdered folks in the plane was the Cuban fence team, if Carriles did it? he deserves to be punished with death , not sure coming from Castro's Regime , unless he himself confessed to the crime.
Left- wing Dictator Castro has been in power (through his brother Raul) lately for twice as much of Pinochet 's years and has killed 100's in the last 52 year including those who have died at see looking from freedom somewhere else, no general elections in the same period, no internet for regular folks, the Press in 100% controlled by the commies.
      Viva Cuba libre!
