Elian Gonzalez: When Eric Holder Earned His Spurs

Pages: 1 2

The New Black Panther Party threatened Philadelphia voters with billy clubs and Eric Holder’s justice department couldn’t be bothered. CAIR was accused of fundraising for Hamas, and Eric Holder shrugged.

But back when Fidel Castro demanded the return of an escaped slave, Eric Holder snapped to attention, clicked his heels, and sprung to action. It is scrupulous legality, we’re given to understand by Mr. Holder, that prevents his Department from prosecutions against the New Black Panthers and CAIR.

But regarding scrupulous legality, Fox News Andrew Napolitano had (then Deputy) Attorney General Eric Holder’s number way back in April 23rd, 2000. Here it is thanks to The Media Research Center:

Napolitano: Tell me, Mr. Holder, why did you not get a court order authorizing you to go in and get the boy (Elian Gonzalez)?

Holder: Because we didn’t need a court order. INS can do this on its own.

Napolitano: You know that a court order would have given you the cloak of respectability to have seized the boy.

Holder: We didn’t need an order.

Napolitano: Then why did you ask the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals for such an order if you didn’t need one?

Holder: [Silence]

Napolitano: The fact is, for the first time in history you have taken a child from his residence at gunpoint to enforce your custody position, even though you did not have an order authorizing it. When is the last time a boy, a child, was taken at the point of a gun without an order of a judge…Unprecedented in American history.”

Holder: “He was not taken at the point of a gun.”

Napolitano: “We have a photograph showing he was taken at the point of a gun.”

Holder: “They were armed agents who went in there who acted very sensitively…”

Thanks to the ritual MSM-Castroite collusion most people forget (or missed) the crucial legal and ethical details of this circus/tragedy — which were mostly established during the first week after Elian’s rescue at sea, after his heroic mother’s drowning. The “son-belongs-with-his-father” crowd, for instance, “missed” (with the help of the MSM-Democratic complex) that Elian’s father was initially delighted that his motherless son was in the U.S. and in the loving arms of his uncles and cousins.

    He is a racist.

  • DogWithoutSlippers

Holder – always a racist and a willing participant to his masters' calls! It seems anything counter America – counter Americans is the side he is on. A true snake with armed backing – a clear and present danger!

I find it troubling that America produced the Eric Holder's of the world. Even more troubling is that America voted for a man named Obama to be its President who put Mr. Holder into office. Eric Holder is probably the most dangerous man alive next to the narcissist Obama who together make one shudder at the thought of what would happen if they had absolute and dictatorial powers.

When a dog attacks a person and tastes their blood, you have to put the dog down since the dog craves that taste and will kill to satisfy that taste.

When an animal escapes from their zoo cage, they have tasted the freedom they paced back and forth from behind the bars only to see freedom.

Elian Gonzales has tasted freedom. He saw a modern society. He played with modern toys. He ate anything and everything and all he wanted. Someday, he will revolt against his master, Fidel Castro!

You also must remember that he longs for his mother who cared for him and died for him!

Can anyone tell me the difference between Alcatraz and Cuba?

    • Cuban Refugee

No, there is no difference between Alcatraz and Cuba; however, given a choice, I would prefer Alcatraz. When Elian was returned to the island prison, he became the warden's favorite son — he was given toys, fed nutritious food that the average Cuban had never tasted, hailed as a diminutive returning hero, and paraded as a personification of Castro's victory against the U.S. Like all the other children in the gulag's schools, he was brainwashed into thinking of Castro as his real father, and "la patria" as his mother. Does he miss his birth mother, Florida family and the material things he enjoyed in relative freedom? I doubt it … his humanity has been extracted by the system, and he operates as just another automaton victim of communism. Eric Holder, Janet Reno, Greg Craig, and Bill Clinton were agents for evil in this diabolical operation as surely as if they each had held a machine gun to a six-year-old's face.

You can see SF from Alcatraz.

It is a disgrace that such an evil deed could ever have been done, not only IN the United States, but BY the United States government.

  • damon beckett

The thing that bothered me about this sorry episode was that after spending billions of dollars and thousands of Americans killed fighting communism, we sent a young kid back to communism. Today Anne Frank would be sent back to her parents in Germany I suppose.

Elian's wonderful mother died in her desperate attempt to give the beautiful gift of freedom to her son. Rest in peace, brave and lovely mother.

How can it ever be forgotten that acting for merciless Castro, American agents, threatening with machine guns, terrified little Elian; stealing his freedom; stomping on his mother's dream and on her grave.

Dear Elian, you have been brainwashed. May you understand one day how precious the gift of freedom is that your mother gave her life for. G-D bless and protect you and your entire family always.

The boy belonged with his father!!!

    • Cuban Refugee

His father wanted the boy to live in a free country — he asserted during a phone conversation with the Florida family soon after Elian's arrival how joyful he was that his son had safely made the crossing against all odds. As a mother, if I had a choice between my children living in freedom, or suffering through the deprivation and repression inherent in communism, I would forget my egoic attachment and give them up for their own benefit. That was what my parents did for my brother and me through Operation Pedro Pan; and, it was what Juan Miguel desired until Castro, with the help of his powerful communist comrades in the U.S., painted himself in the picture so that, sadly, Elian would once again become property of the state as well as Fidel's propaganda poster boy.

    • Steeloak

And his father was welcome to join him in freedom in the United States. It was a crime against humanity, however, to force Elian back into the slavery that his mother died to free him from. Protecting the freedom and liberty of Elian trumps his father's parental rights. If his Dad lived in Canada, there would not of been a problem here.

Weren't the father and mother divorced and didn't the father abandon them both?

Some of the blame to must go to our National Council of Churches who have also sided with Communists who in their countries, don't allow churches and/or the freedom to worship!

  • Rochmoninoff

I'd forgotten about Elian and this miscarriage of justice.
    God forgive me.

Reading this post dredges up all those horrors.
Don't forget shortly after this we had the Waco disaster.
I guess I should stop painting Clinton as ok and Obama as not-ok.
Clearly when Democrats are president terrible things happen:
    Japanese Internment (Roosevelt)
    Political dissidents jailed (Wilson)
    etc.

  • willy wallace

But to many here in the U.S., Cuba is "paradise" and we are the ones that live in He!!.

The Congressional Black Caucus, Jimmy Carter, Bill Richardson, Oliver Stone, and Michael Moore praise this "paradise" which makes me wonder why they haven't moved there!

    • Amused

No not many willy , that's your own warped perception . There are only SOME , and they are the idiots .

  • http://joshualipana.wordpress.com/ joshualipana

    How could they.

  • Amused

Give it up Humberto ! You tried praising a Cbano terrorista that blew up a Cuban airliner with innocents on board , now you're trying ressurrect this three ring circus you Cubans made down in Miami ? Who would seperate a boy from his only parent ? Who is to say the boy wanted to leave with his mother to begin with ? Did he know he'd never see his father again ? Although tragic , with the mother gone the ONLY right thing to do was what was done , return the child to his dad . His alleged relatives in Miami were more interested in making money and a shrine out of that kid . BTW , I strongly dislike Holder , but sometimes even idiots get it right .It's a shame many of you Cubanos down here in Fla, cant see past your hatred of Castro to see that a boy belongs with his father .Did Mom tell Dad she was taking his son ? YOU DON'T KNOW THAT . And just think ., the US has better relations with tyrants just as bad as Castro , and their citizens dont have to risk their lives on a raft to get here ….they take an airliner .

    • Omar

Amused, the confession to the Cubana airline bombing exists. The person responsible for that bombing was a Castro double-agent named Ricardo Morales Navaratte. Stop defending the murderous Castro regime.

  • Seth Bullock

Anyone else notice that the cop in the picture does not have his finger on the trigger?

I wanted the kid to stay in the US, too, but it didn't matter what I thought. The fact is that the boy's father was in Cuba and wanted him back. Keeping the boy would have been state-sponsored kidnapping. He HAD to be sent to his dad. Period. Sorry his mom didn't want him to stay in Cuba and died getting him out, but that's how it played out. Her death didn't trump the father's rights.

Perhaps the US gov should spend this effort getting back US children kidnapped to other countries.

  • Amused

The only reason cops were even sent in to begin with , was because the kids money hungry relatives weren't going to give up their cash cow without a fight , atleast that's what they claimed .
And Yes , the cops finger was EXACTLY where it should have been per their training ….OFF the trigger , guarding the trigger .
Shame on you Humberto , for even dragging this up again , the cubanos in Miami acted in a disgracefull manner , and now YOU are using it as a political football , to knock the Dems . Besides all that , the final action in the case of Elian , was not Holders call anyway , or dont you remember who the A.G. was back then ?
