A Tale of Two Friends

Pages: 1 2 3

America’s friend Netanyahu is quick to tell us that the destruction of Israel will not happen. Too many people seeking freedom, including persecuted Arabs, look to her existence. Netanyahu affirmed:

“There was a great English writer in the 19th century, George Eliot. It’s a she. That was a pseudonym in those days. George Eliot predicted over a century ago that once established the Jewish state—here’s what she said, ‘The Jewish state will shine like a bright star of freedom amid the despotisms of the East.’ Well, she was right. We have a free press, independent courts, an open economy, rambunctious parliamentary debates… Courageous Arab protesters are now struggling to secure these very same rights for their peoples, for their societies.  We’re proud in Israel that over 1 million Arab citizens of Israel have been enjoying these rights for decades.  Of the 300 million Arabs in the Middle East and North Africa, only Israel’s Arab citizens enjoy real democratic rights…Of those 300 million Arabs, less than one-half of 1 percent are truly free and they’re all citizens of Israel.  This startling fact reveals a basic truth: Israel is not what is wrong with about the Middle East; Israel is what is right about the Middle East.  Israel fully supports the desire of Arab peoples in our region to live freely.  We long for the day when Israel will be one of many real democracies in the region—in the Middle East.”

THIS IS EXACTLY RIGHT – thank you. And please, please, everyone who reads these words here is what you can do: visit Israel, support Israel in your prayers and with your money, buy Israeli products, find out where your elected officials stand and make it clear to them that while no nation is perfect Israel is pretty close and that he/she wants to be elected again he/she had better support Israel. And finally, do whatever you can to get this man out of the Oval office. He is a menace to America, Israel and the free world.

One has to question the intrinsic and perceived value vs the negetive and nuisance value of this relationship in light of the tarnished image and position of America in today's Arab and non Christian world.True,America must balance her strategic and real needs with her inherently moral goodness. It should be obvious to all that the past and present Israeli-American relationship falls towards the former (i.e.strategic) over the latter (i.e.moral,simply the right thing to do).The fact that American policies in support of Israel have resulted in effectively supporting oppressive measures against the Palestinian people have not and will not serve America well in future years. We already see this in Asia,Europe,S.America and Africa, not to mention the Arab world.President Obama has taken the moral highroad here but is being effectively sabotaged by Israel and the Israeli lobby.Unfortunately,Israel cannot be counted on to do the right thing here. One can only hope that the moral goodness and long term sensibility of the President's position will triumph over narrow minded Israeli self interest and land greed. God Bless America. muchiboy

Americans as well as Europeans have already been sold out to Muslims.
    All for petrodollars.
In Paris, the citizens are not allowed to critisize Muslims, because it is considered to be racist.
    Just a matter of time.

I love it! Obozo slap down big time by a real statesmen. Obozo is a true fool. How did he every think that specch would go over? Once again he shows his true feelings that he is a mooslim parading as a christian. 2012 hopefully will rid him and his cronies and get a person that can steer our country the right way.The Jews need to wake up and realize what side they’re bread is buttered. The mosdlim in the WH is no friend of them or the great state of Israel.

G-d bless the USA and Israel …

Netanyahu is a better friend of America than Obama is. He doesn't speak with forked tongue as Obama does. Would that we could get a candidate of his quality to run against Obama in 2012.

muchiboy – if Obama does as you wish, it will destroy Israel – is that what you want? It is perfectly clear that while individual Moslems may want peace the masses and their leaders do not. The so-called “Palestinian people” did not exist prior to the 1960s when they were created as a ploy to be a thorn in Israel’s flesh. The highest standard of living, highest infant mortality, highest level of education, and most freedom any Moslem in the Middle East enjoys is that of the Moselm citizens of Israel. Except the leadership, the so-call Palestinians do not want to live in a Palestinian state. Their rights and freedom would be severely limited. BUT none of that matters to those on the left.

Explore Israel and you will find Moslem gays who can march in Gay Pride Parades in Israel (but would be killed for this in a Palestinian state). Young Moslem couples can be found necking in Jewish neighborhoods in Israel – because their own culture would stone them for this (so they don’t want a Palestinian state either). I could go on but you get the picture.

And as Greg Gutfeld might say “and if you don’t agree with me have been drinking DPK – Democrat Party Kool-aid.”

After actually reading Mr. Netanyahu's speech it becomes quit clear that he has a firm understanding of his nations strategic challenges, and realistic expectations outlining the base objectives for a comprehensive Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement..

I'm also quite sure he understands that irregardless of what concessions Israel makes, or how much land it cedes, it will never live in peaceful coexistence with the Arabs. Who after all, want the Jews and all traces of Western Civilization removed from all Middle Eastern Lands.
