Why Libya Is Headed Back to Tyranny

Through the works of Western philosophers and the politicians influenced by them, including the founders of our nation, the idea emerged that political leaders couldn’t run roughshod over the common man.The key point to recognize is that Western transition from barbarism to civility didn’t take place overnight; it took centuries. More importantly, for the most part Western civility and its institutions were not transplanted; they emerged from within Western civilization. Where they were successfully transplanted, it was done through Western colonialism, such as in the cases of the U.S., Canada and Australia.

In Libya and most other countries in the Arab world, what we know as personal liberty is nonexistent. According to Freedom House’s 2011 “Freedom in the World” survey, as well as Amnesty International’s annual report for 2011, most North African and Middle Eastern countries are ranked either “repressive” or “not free.” Moreover, I believe that there’s little prospect for Arabs ever being free and that Western encouragement and hopes for democracy are doomed to failure and disappointment. Most nations in the Middle East do not share the philosophical foundations of the West. It’s not likely liberty-oriented values will ever emerge in cultures that have disdain for the rule of law and private property rights and that sanction barbaric practices such as the stoning of women for adultery, the severing of hands or beheading as a form of punishment, and imprisonment for criticizing or speaking ill of the government.

What should the West do about the gross violations of human rights so prevalent in North Africa, the Middle East and elsewhere? My short answer is to mind our own business. The only case in which we should interfere with Middle Eastern affairs is when our national defense or economic interests are directly threatened. That is, for example, if Iran were to meddle with Middle Eastern oil shipments or if we discovered good evidence of its building nuclear weapons, then we should militarily intervene. What they want to do to one another is none of our business.

Dr. Williams reminds me of the statement by William F. Buckley that as long as the brutality is for local consumption, we ought to butt out. We cannot treat every illness throughout the world. Just watching how the rebels treated Ghadaffi (not a nice guy) when they caught up with him illustrates the nature of the people taking over the country. I do not expect a Jeffersonian democracy to arise anywhere in the Middle East. What I fear is a horde of non-uniformed aggressors attacking us, and then hiding behind the women and children (see, e.g. Gaza and Lebanon).

The right should abandon the you break it you own it policy instituted by the Bush administration and revert back to the peace through strength model previously instituted by Reagan. It should also heed the advise of true conservatives like Bill Buckley and realize the dream of democratizing the Islamic world is a futile pipe dream that will inevitably lead to disaster exactly because it is impossible.

After Moammar Gadhafi’s downfall as Libya’s tyrannical ruler, politicians and “experts” in the U.S. and elsewhere, including French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe, are saying that his death marked the end of 42 years of tyranny and the beginning of democracy in Libya. Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., said Gadhafi’s death represented an opportunity for Libya to make a peaceful and responsible transition to democracy. House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said, “Now it is time for Libya’s Transitional National Council to show the world that it will respect the rights of all Libyans (and) guide the nation to democracy.” German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that “Libya must now quickly make further determined steps in the direction of democracy.”

Indeed, when I see loons like Republican House Speaker John Boehner calling for democracy in Libya it confirms to me that the Left has hijacked and co-opted the Republican Party and morphed it into the second coming of the Dhimmicrat Party. Indeed, today the Republican Party is little more than one side of a two sided leftwing coin, and the fact that Boehner has been elected Speaker of the House by a majority of Republicans no less proves it. Wanna explanation why the USA and the world is in such a pathetic position today? It's because Leftism totally dominates the West including the USA today. Wanna know why we have a ludicrous super panel deciding the future of this country, it's because democracy has been sabotaged by stealth leftists pretending to be Republicans such as Congressman John Boehner and his lieutenant Eric Cantor and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Democracy, which is a Western construct as Mr. Williams succinctly points out, is a product of our Greco-Roman Judeo-Christian Western civilization, which evolved completely independently from Islamic civilization. No such similar evolution ever occurred in Islamic civilization, as Islam unless totally suppressed does not allow for any other form of governance. Hence, the Wilsonian fantasy to democratize the Islamic world has always been a fantasy based pipe dream that will inevitably fail as Western-stye democracy with the freedoms and liberties it embodies leaves the door wide open for its inevitable demise, as again Islam unless totally suppressed will not allow any other form of governance, which is why only thugs rule over there.

With respect to what the West should do to confront the threat, first of all, it should drop the so-called “War on Terror,” as terrorism is a product of Western civilization only, while Jihad, on the other hand, which is holy fighting in the cause of Allah against non-Muslim unbelievers to make Islam supreme, is a product of Islamic civilization only.

Next, the West should implement a policy of containment to curtail the spread of Islam, which would include getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan ASAP since both those missions are extremely fantasy based and incredibly counterproductive, and instead taking care of the most pressing problems, e.g., eradicating the ruling Mullahs of Iran and their nuclear weapons program and taking out the nuclear weapons arsenal and nuclear weapons program of Pakistan.

In addition, the West should also strongly consider seizing the collective Mideast oilfields and the immense unearned oil wealth of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States. Otherwise those resources in the hands of Muslims will be used perpetually to wage jihad against the West per the dictates of Islam.

Finally, the most important step the West must absolutely do is collectively outlaw Islam and ban and reverse mass Muslim immigration with all of its excess baggage ASAP, as Muslims never ever migrate to the West or anywhere else for that matter to assimilate and integrate but instead to eventually subjugate and dominate to make Islam supreme via demographic conquest and the eventual imposition of Sharia.

    Why Libya Was Attacked
    By Stephen Lendman
    10-27-11

Gaddafi supported pan-Africanism – a United States of Africa.

He also wanted Libyans to share in the country's oil wealth, a notion foreign to America and other Western societies.

Under his 1999 Decision No. 111, all Libyans got free healthcare, education, electricity, water, training, rehabilitation, housing assistance, disability and old-age benefits, interest-free state loans, as well as generous subsidies to study abroad, buy a new car, help couples when they marry, practically free gasoline, and more.

Literacy under Gaddafi rose from 20 – 80%. Libya's hospitals and private clinics were some of the region's best. Now they're in shambles. Some, in fact, were bombed or damaged in other fighting. NATO lied saying only military targets were attacked.

NATO's imperial strategy involves targeting civilians and vital infrastructure, including power, communications, medical care facilities, and other essential to life sites.

Before war began, Libyans had Africa's highest standard of living. According to David Blundy and Andrew Lycett's book titled, "Qaddafi and the Libyan Revolution.

In eight months, NATO's killing machine destroyed 42 years of achievements, benefitting all Libyans. Why else would overwhelming numbers support him?

After NATO attacked, hundreds of thousands rallied openly for him. On July 1, 95% of Tripoli's population (over a million strong) expressed support in Green Square.

Libya's Great Man-Made River (GMMR) was developing an ocean-sized aquifer beneath the desert for irrigation, human consumption, and other uses. At 2007 consumption rates, it could last 1,000 years. No wonder Gaddafi calls his Nubian Sandstone Aquifer System (NSAS) the "Eighth Wonder of the World."

He advocated a new "Gold Standard," replacing dollars with gold dinars. http://www.rense.com/general95/hyd.htm

Admiral James Stavridis, NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, and the commander of the U.S. European Command told the U.S. Senate that Al-Qaeda and Hezbollah fighters are among the Libyan rebels currently receiving support from the US and its NATO allies. This was confirmed by one of the Libyan rebel officers, Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, who leads one of the Al-Qaeda units.

U.S/NATO joined with Al-Qaeda and Hezbollah terrorists to wage relentless war for months. Bombing Libya back to the stone age.

Barbaric Al Qaeda and Hezbollah who MURDER our troops in Iraq were considered as desirable for placing in power in Libya. US/NATO have great guilt in making the world a far more dangerous place.

Click on the above link. Absolutely horrifying. All made possible because of the totally unprovoked, illegal US/NATO war. Shocking ongoing barbaric atrocities and genocide of Blacks by the US backed Muslim rebels has been going on for several months. Under Gaddafi, Blacks lived in safety. G-D help them.

"the brigade for purging slaves, black skin"
    - slogan seen painted in rebel country.

Also, terrible atrocities are being perpetrated against ARAB Muslim mothers and fathers and their children because they were supporters of Gaddafi. G-D help them.

US/FRANCE/UK/NATO have unleashed hell on earth in Libya.

US/NATO bombing of civilian sites also reported by:

    WorldNetDaily, AUGUST 06, 2011

Two U.S. sources currently in Tripoli told G2Bulletin that Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Kaim, who is part of the embattled Gadhafi regime, told them that the Warfalla tribe – one of the largest in Libya – is being joined by other tribes to fight the rebels because of what is described as indiscriminate killing of civilians by Western alliance-backed troops.

The sources said that Qatari troops, tanks and helicopters "are openly killing these unarmed tribal members. They have their Qatari tanks in the streets of Benghazi. They are actively shooting on unarmed civilians."

Repeated NATO bombings also have included hospitals, Ramadan food storage warehouses, the country's main water distribution infrastructure, private homes and "more than 1,600 other civilian sites." http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.printable&am
