So Japan has actually put money into their infrastructure, which has allowed a city to prosper - a city that has incredible significance to the country after it was bombed by the USA.

Detroit has been crunched under the heal of the huge industrial interests for nearly a century, regardless of which party has been in power politically. In addition, the people who live there are completely indifferent to downright hostile to the concept of caring for their home, keeping it clean, maintaining buildings and streets, etc.

The problems are not the result of Left vs Right, Democrat vs Republican. They are the result of the ongoing conflict between the obscenely rich mega-corporations and the common working stiff. The auto industry vs the unions, those who have against those who have not.

This whole article, though, is a classic example of Republican/Conservative propaganda, drawing on two completely unrelated things to reach conclusions that were pre-ordained.

Thank you. I understand fully why people might get the impression that blacks fail at civil leadership, but what they fail to realize is that most failed and corrupt black leaders have something else in common besides their race: they are invariably Leftists. No one on the Left ever mentions or embraces genuinely successful blacks, because their success is usually had by embracing so-called "white" values. Because of this, many of the low-information types otherwise on the political right don't know that they exist at all.

Detroit hasn't had a Republican mayor in 60-odd years. The last time they had one was the last time their budget was balanced. Not every city run by liberals is in ruins, true, but none of the ones that have been majority-conservative are.
As for Samboblakk... His comment is frankly stupid and probably at least partially racist. HOWEVER:
It is also true that many black mayors and city council members in urban areas run racially-charged campaigns. It's also true that they cry "racism!" each and every time their bad policies are criticized. So the reason cities headed by blacks are so badly off isn't because blacks aren't capable (because they certainly are; I'd be voting for Thomas Sowell for president in '16 if he were running), it's because of black solidarity.
In most white communities, violent criminals who are not somehow related to Leftist causes are almost universally rejected by said communities, and no one other than their families puts up a fight when they are held accountable for their actions. In the same way and for the same reason, white politicians who do poorly are removed by white voters, and usually even their supporters don't put up much of a fight if they've been charged with violent crimes.
Among blacks, however, the picture changes. Any number of black politicians and political activists who advocate for bad-stupid-and/or-racist policies do everything in their power to stoke racial divisiveness against their critics as a means of hanging on to power. And thus we have the spectacle of men like Al Sharpton, Louis Farrahkan and David Dinkins being warmly embraced by significant parts of the black community.
Racial solidarity is not inevitable of course. When the Chinese began immigrating to the US in the early 20th century, they went out of their way to root out and present for prosecution the criminals in their midst. Chinese political candidates who advocated for solidarity were summarily rejected by their own ethnic communities precisely on the grounds that embracing criminals amongst them would bring the best of them down for the sake of whitewashing the sins of the worst of them.
So when Al Sharpton is finally held accountable for the riot he deliberately instigated (with the mob shouting "Kill the Jew!" as they murdered a Jewish student they happened upon), and for all of his other crimes - held accountable, and properly punished, by his own community - then we will have a healing of racial tensions.
But until people like me are no longer denounced as racist for holding blacks to the exact same standards that I hold myself, or anyone else I might meet, to, then the racial tension will continue. And the problems of the black community will continue to be self-caused; a product of electing and re-electing (and of supporting) evil and opportunistic people who parasitically feed on those they are responsible for and then use those same people as a shield against their critics.
