Isolating Israel

Pages: 1 2

The Jerusalem Post’s Herb Keinon notes:

When Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy blasted Syria’s government at the Non-Aligned Movement Conference in Tehran on Thursday, his comments prompted Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem to storm out.

But when Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei slammed Israel, labeling it a state of “bloodthirsty Zionist wolves” that controls the world media, nobody moved.

The silence of the world in the face of these charges is chilling.

Correct, and the full phrase from Khamenei is “bloodthirsty Zionist wolves who digest the Palestinian people in the haraam-eating stomach of the Zionist regime”—haraam being, of course, impure food according to Islam.

“Granted,” Keinon notes further,

nobody in Israel is expecting much of Bangladesh, Cuba or South Africa. But how about those countries with whom Israel has strong ties, such as India, Colombia and Thailand? Why did they sit still, and what does that say?

Indeed, the view from Zion is not rosy these days. In the same week that 120 “nonaligned” nations of the world were gathered in Tehran to give their blessing to its open genocidal anti-Semitism, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported that Iran had doubled the number of centrifuges at its underground Fordo site since May, while increasing its stockpile of 20%-enriched uranium to within 50 kilograms of a bomb.

All this while continuing to block access—as it has been since November—to its Parchin facility for nuclear-explosives testing.

And that wasn’t all. Even though the IAEA’s findings vindicate all the warnings by Israeli leaders that Iran was exploiting the period of sanctions and diplomatic talks to race ahead toward the bomb, the Obama administration reacted—again—by coming down on Israel rather than Iran.

On Thursday the U.S. chief of staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, told reporters in London that an Israeli attack on Iran would delay but probably not stop its nuclear program, could unravel the “international coalition” supposedly “pressuring” Iran, and that “I don’t want to be complicit if they [Israel] choose to do it.”

With a few words, then, Dempsey managed to convey that Israel was militarily incapable, a potential spoiler of an effective international strategy, and that it would be somehow criminal or illicit—“complicity” usually referring to illicit activity—if Israel did move to preempt the genocidal threat, something the U.S. would want no part of.

It would advisable for all pundits to internalize the following.
We in Eretz Israel shall not take any chances on the prospects having the bestial monsters of Islam armed with nuclear weapons aimed at us. They have repeatedly and clearly declared their intents.
Should the oil hungry and money deadbeat governments feel the need to interfere with self defense, woe to all of the world. We are not walking again into train carts or ovens so that folk can have gasoline or sell tanks to Islamic barbarians.
The US and others would do well to disregard the pipings of the likes of Peres, the displaced security junkers or Winegrad. They have no relevance.
The US and the EU must dismantle under Israeli supervision all the Iranian nuclear facilities except the electricity producing plant.
Otherwise and in short notice Israel will do it regardless of any consequence.

    • Blossom Kelley

Bravo, sir, well spoken! I watch daily as the world becomes more and more detached from reality, as my country goes down the "political correctness" drain and Israel seems to be the only beacon in a night where the Doomsday Clock is about to strike MIDNIGHT for human civilization…….

      • Kufar Dawg

I wonder if the Doomsday Clock is still in existence. I know it used to a popular metaphor for the Cold War, but personally I think the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the hands of totalitarian regimes like N. Korea, Iran and Pakistain makes it much more likely a nuclear device will be detonated in some sort of first strike or terrorist scenario.

    • WildJew

Shmuel, this prime minister might signal some determination (resolution and grit) by means of signs of political strength internally. For example, why did Mr. Netanyahu oppose legislation that would have protected Jewish communities that the court ordered destroyed, Ulpana, Migron, etc.? Why doesn't the PM make the Levy Report official government policy? I understand these issues are not directly related to the Iranian threat. Nonetheless, Israel needs to project strength ("this is our land!" kind of strength), not weakness (i.e., "we are illegitimate occupiers"). For me, politics is about doing what is right in both the little things and the bigger things. Steve Klein

      • SHmuel HaLevi

Regretfully I must agree with you on the specifics you expose.
Netanyahu is absolutely not credible so far and has caused great damage to our credibility, yet, it could come to be that under the circumstances, even him will turn around or others will do it for him… He is threading much as others outside Israel, on very thin TRINITITE…

      • PaulRevereNow

Why hasn't Netanyahu done anything to reduce the power of the Israeli judiciary; such as legislating a measure that would give him the power to appoint supreme court justices?(Just like the POTUS) Caroline Glick has been writing about this for years. Such a measure would be very good for Israel.

    • Scott

      God bless Israel!

  • DogWithoutSlippers

Isreal is in a very tight spot and the other countries of the world will turn a deaf ear to her plight. Obama will abandon Israel as he is firmly in the muslim camp and his statements confirm that he will stand with the muslims.

  • EthanP

The world is affraid. Israel and Jews don't send terrorists around the worlt to slaughter women and children. Muslims do. Constantly and often. And stickink heads in the sand is what politicians do best.

The US should invade the Middle East and take over every oil field.

Especially those in the Islamofascist Regime of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Gulf States.

Then lower the price of oil from $100 per barrel, back to $10 per barrel.

The end of Islamofascist oil monopolies will benefit the entire world.

Fund and support the opposition in the Iran. Decapitate the ayatollahs and the Islamofascist Revolutionary Jihadis.

    • Andy

You are a wild man, wild, wild, wild – and I'm with you 100%.

    • Indioviejo

Invasion means boots on the ground. I am against any of our men dying for Oil when we can buy it in the International market, and produce much more of our own, however, I do favor punitive expeditions. We have the power to destroy our enemies many times over, but do we have the Will? Just look at Gen. Dempsey's bigoted statements to show where we are as a nation. Our whole leadership is crap, and maybe we deserve them because it has taken years to get to this point. Let Israel do what it needs to do to survive and the world, including us, can go to HELL.

      • WilliamJamesWard

You mean follow Obama into the pit………………William

IV, Hopefully the US leadership will start to change in November and in fact in January.

President Romney will not be as predisposed to islamfascism as Barack Hussein Obama.

  • flowerknife_us

    The Bus has struck again.

  • Omar

Don't forget. The UN has been trying to isolate Israel since at least the mid-1970s, when the USSR and its allies passed the erroneous "Zionism is Racism" resolution at the UN. It took sixteen years for that awful resolution to be repealed. Still, even after the repeal, many countries allies with the communists and Islamists want to undermine Israel and democracy in general.

      SOCIALISM and Islamofascism are Racism.

The neo-commies, the FAKE "anti-war" fascists are the leaders of world-wide fascism and islamofascism.

      • Omar

You're right. The unholy alliance between the communists and the Islamists have been trying to destroy Israel, the West and democracy for many years. The unholy alliance are neo-fascists. The world needs to defeat the neo-fascists of the unholy alliance.

  • Mickey Oberman

I believe that the comments of Dempsy and all other Obama trolls were carefully orchestrated by the saint's PR people to goad Israel into action. An action that the brave Obama knows is necessary but is terrified to take.

    • Kufar Dawg

Interesting spin, but I for one don't believe it. The zero pressured Israel to revert to the pre-1967 borders. A reversion that would be nothing more than a prelude to another 1948 invasion by islamofascist states and the possible destruction of Israel and a subsequent islamic genocide of everyone non-muslim in Israel.

      • Daniel MacDonald

When PM Netanyahu speaks to the United Nations in Sept he best be coming to declare that a State of War now exists between Israel and Iran and further to advise that the IDF has struck Iran in the preceding hour. No other conversation is worth more then a bucket of cold piss,

        • Kufar Dawg

Or perhaps healthy, warm camel urine.

    • Al T

Mickey, I think you're delusional if you believe Obama in anyway would sanction a strike against Iran.
He is a muslim and will not provide cover to Israel.

  • Indioviejo

Israel can not count on it's so called allies for it's survival. And survive it must. With people like Gen.Dempsey permeating our military leadership, our weakness is in our leadership and our anti-Semitic officer corps. Our political leadership has set the tone of anti-semitism going so far as to have a whole Party, the Democrat, eroding continuously our natural bonds with the only Democracy in the Middle East, Israel. To make it worse, our leftist Jews are now advocating for the destruction of Israel with their continued support for Democrats.

  • Wesley69

Israel has the right of self-defense. It can expect no aid from Obama. His Joint Chief of Staff stooge signalled as of such. However, should Israel attack, Obama will join the chorus of those condemning Israel because it is the popular thing to do. Oil prices will shoot through the roof, but he will be able to blame Israel for doing this thereby shielding himself from any blame. Countries like Saudi Arabia will secretly applaud this action, but will not say so publicly. Egypt is the wild card. Will Egypt stay neutral in lieu of this attack????? Certainly Hamas and Hezbollah will not. Any action against Hamas could, however, draw Egypt in as their defender. Egyptian President Morsi wants to be leader of the Islamic world. Seeing Iran attacked would be to his interest. However, he could use it to rally other Islamic counries against Zionist aggression, though secretly, he is happy to see Iran defanged for the moment.

  • watsa46

Bibi will not be allowed to attack Iran. The US have convey this message in many different ways to the IL. The US may even shoot down Israeli planes.
There is no real need for a war. The US could just start a naval blockus of Iran. But it is unlikely. They want Iran to have the ability to develop low grade uranium for "medical purpose". The Iranians will try their best to outmaneuvers
    the US.

When Obama gets his walking papers, and goes on a tearful bye-bye tour, President Romney will take over.

There will be problems instigated by the Hate America Firsters, but they will self-destruct.

Michelle Obama will get back to hating America.

Michelle learned to hate America at the feet of Rev.Wright, but NOT her husband.

  • bubbaland1

I am not sure what the point of your article is, and for that matter what is new. Iran has been working on its nukes for a long time. Israel has swallowed the empty promises of Bush Jr and Obama to defend Israel. The former did nothing against Iran, and the latter is doing everything possible to facilitate Iran's nuclear program by attacking Israel and not Iran. So the question remains, what is Israel going to do about this situation? Israel has harmed its own interests by broadcasting continuous threats against Iran that have never materialized. At this late juncture even if Israel attacks Iran, and this leads to a larger war in the Middle East, I doubt that Obama would resupply Israel with war material. After all, Obama visited a former concentration camp, instead of visiting the State of Israel. Lastly, Israel is hoping that if Romney is President, the USA will strike Iran. There is no reason to assume that he would, notice the prominence accorded to Condi Rice in Republican politics. Basically, Rice, a neo-missionary for democracy, facilitated the installation of Hamas in the Gaza strip. Israelis need to wake up and realize that they are on their own and act accordingly, that is attack Iran.

    • Kufar Dawg

If the zero doesn't resupply Israel then maybe Israel should exercise the Samson doctrine.

      • bubbaland1

If it comes to that point then the Israelis should do it.

      • Nakba1948

Oh, that's rich. Spoken like a true Zionist psychopath. Yes, let's unleash nuclear havoc on the world. Let's target European capitals while we're at it!. As the demented, genocidal Martin van Crevald said: ""We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force. Let me quote General Moshe Dayan: 'Israel must be like a mad dog, too dangerous to bother.' I consider it all hopeless at this point. We shall have to try to prevent things from coming to that, if at all possible. Our armed forces, however, are not the thirtieth strongest in the world, but rather the second or third. We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen before Israel goes under.'

'israel': truly a tumor on the body of civilization.

        • Omar

Oh, please. There are more Islamist psychopaths in the Middle East than the population of Spain, Portugal and Andorra combined.

        • Kufar Dawg

It's no more than the holy hadeeths of islam call for on the Jews islamic liar. It's no more than Yasser Arafat and Abdul Nasser ranted and raved about when the expressed their desires to push the Jews into the sea. It's no less that what has been done to a million infidels/kufars in N. Africa by muslimes. Get stuffed Hadji.

        • Drakken

You muslims continue to push us in the west until we awake from our slumber and then God himself won't help you from our wrath.

  • g_jochnowitz

Iran is extraordinarily dangerous. The world is blind, as it usually is. Anti-Zionism is the most powerful political force on earth.

  • Kafantaris

The way to Iran is still through Syria and the Arabs will be with us when we make up out mind to take on Assad.  But all won't be with us if we have to go to Iran to finish the bombing started by Israel.
    So which would it be?
Do we go to Syria now and take out Assad — and also Iran when it steps in to help him.  Or do we wait for Israel to strike Iran first and we then finish the job?
In either case we'll end up in Iran.
Why not go to Syria first along with others now willing to help the millions of Arabs suffering under Assad.
But if we should, come hell or high water, Israel had better stay put.

  • Nakba1948

Isolating Israel? You make it sound as if this were the work of some external force–a liberal/Muslim conspiracy, perhaps. No, the Zionist Apartheid Entity has done a superb job at isolating itself, I'm afraid. It has more UN resolutions against it than any other "state" in the world. It flouts the Geneva Conventions regarding occupation. It thumbs its nose at the NPT. It regularly instigates and threatens wars with its neighbors. It shamelessly pumps its agents into Western governments, most notably the United States, to subvert those nations' foreign policy apparatuses. And lest we forget, it maintains a brutal, ever-expanding occupation over the indigenous people of the land, with little regard for their lives or livelihood. No, "Israel" has isolated itself through 64 years of utterly deplorable behavior. As with its ideological predecessors, apartheid South Africa and Nazi Germany, the civilized world is standing up to this international abomination. Palestine will be free, from the River to the Sea. Happy Labor Day, you Zionazi traitors!

    • Robin

    • Kufar Dawg

What you describe sounds more like the actions of any islamofascist state in the Mid-East.

    • Drakken

Happy nakba Hadji, you will suffer another one when Gaza gets pushed into the sea and good riddance to those savages.

  • Ghostwriter

And you isolate yourself,Nakba1948,with your ridiculous and nauseating posts. You have no problem with dead Jews,do you, creep?

    • Nakba1948

"You have no problem with dead Jews,do you, creep?" No problem whatsoever with Jews; wouldn't shed a tear over your passing though.

      • Kufar Dawg

        Happy eternal Nakba DB!

      • Drakken

Keep it up muslim, your just showing your true jihadist colors, God bless the Crusades, another is coming.

  • WilliamJamesWard

The first thing President Romney should do is fire Gen. Dempsey and after that fire every
Obama appointment and reverse and cleans the American Government and all of it's
departments of all Obamian contamination and disloyalty to the American people.

  • Drtruth

American and Israeli leftists that support Obama should be ashamed of themselves and will ultimately bare the responsibility for the fallout of allowing the world to come to the brink of economic and physical destruction. Their vote for Obama is a vote for the Muslim brotherhood. Obama has already shaken hands with the devil by his administration establishing ties with the brotherhood. They represent a clear and present danger to our western democratic and libertarian way of life. So does the Iranian Shiite regime which created Hezbollah and their own revolutionary guard which has the ability to wreak terrorist havoc in western countries and potentially the USA as well. All this while selling the Israeli's out who are true friend of the Usa and in their commitment to democracy and equal rights for all peoples of the world. They just want to live in peace and prosperity along with everyone else. The Muslims however have another agenda. The Shiites and Sunnis are battling for the right to rule a worldwide caliphate.

The altruistic and naive nature of Obama and the left are being used as tools in this process. Their terrible misjudgment will cost us all very soon.

    • Kufar Dawg

"The altruistic and naive nature of Obama"? Are you kidding me? Neither he nor shrillery has done anything, much less said anything about the systematic, state sponsored persecution and murder of Christians, Hindus, Sikhs and Jews going on throughout the muslime world. I'd hazard a guess it's not by accident either, but by design.

  • Jimi Belton

We need to give total thought to what the Scriptures say about all this…..Israel will not be attacked with nukes, the way i see it…..Jesus, Messiah will not return to a land ravaged by thermo nuclear warfare…..{ My strong belief }…..But You dear Isralies better do anything necessary to protect your selves…..Nuke Iran if necessary…..Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem……Pray for Bibi…..Pray for the USA…..Pray that the Messiah, Jesus, will hurry back and put an end to all this …..Jimi

  • Schlomotion

Mr. Hornik uses some quite clever reverse, inverse, converse psychology here. He states that the Iranians foster the canard that Jews control the media. Then he demands that the media get outraged at this. This strategy worked really well in 2003 when Mahathir Mohamad said Jews control the media and then Jews shouted him down in the media for lying. It worked again when Obama confessed to Nicolas Sarkozy that Benjamin Netanyahu was annoying and Mr. Netanyahu responded by being annoying. It's a remarkable stratagem. You deny something and make sure nobody talks about it, but if they talk about it you vilify them while you do what you were denying. It's a surefire way to earn favor.

    • Touchstone

"vilify them while you do what you were denying"

Cute words from a guy who describes commentators as "savages" and "enemies of America" while sharing his fantasies about wanting to "wring Ben Shapiro's neck" and "throw Michael Moore into a pit of sharpened stakes". (Nothing savage or unAmerican about murdering people for their opinions, right?) Funny how your own duplicity and hypocrisy haven't been anything close to a "surefire way to win favor". Quite the opposite, in fact.

You a hypocrite who condemns others for hypocrisy.
You're a megalomaniac who condemns others for megalomania.
You're a savage at heart who condemns others for savagery.
You're a complete fraud without a shred of credibility.
Who are you to insult anyone? Sit down and shut up.

      • Schlomotion

Almost, Touchstone. This is almost Matthew, Chapter 23.

If you purl the verse only slightly more, and use the word "Woe" a lot, you will have written a really approachable Zondervan version of that treatise.

        • Touchstone

You mock, you scoff, you dismiss out of hand… but you never successfully defend a charge. Never. At the end of every worthless post, you still stand precisely as guilty as charged, perhaps even more so.

Ridicule is a potent weapon–it's often said that nothing can withstand it–but in your hands it fails miserably. Why is that? Why do you use ridicule as your weapon of choice if it never even scratches your opponents? The answer is probably twofold. One, you're familiar with the power of ridicule but have no aptitude for it; it's always amateur hour when you try your hand at it. Two, your track record of spectacular hypocrisy discredits anything you have to say before one word of your dung is even read.

It's a pleasure to use your sloppy record against you, a record you can never escape. You should have been more careful with your words, poor boy.

          • Roger

A pig with pearls is not a pretty thing to see.
Schlo with a Bible verse isn't either.

          • Schlomotion

" you never successfully defend a charge."

We talked about this before. I don't need to. You are calling me to account. I am not accountable to you. This isn't the 14th Century. You are not a magistrate or banker. There is no ledger to turn over. Your authority to call me to account has to be based on fiat.

At best, if we view this as some form of citizen's arrest, where you claim the right to find disjuncts in my speaking, try to shame me, and when you find aloofness or deliberate amusement, you want to upgrade the "charge." No electrons are leaving your fingertips. My hair isn't standing on end. No magnetic flux lines are leaving your axis and weaving about my body. No hoops are spinning about me like I am on Krypton. Of course I scoff.

          • Touchstone

I've always assumed that people who disagree on the topics addressed by internet columnists come to fora like this to debate their respective points of view. You participate in the process by heaping scorn on the authors. You are then challenged, but instead of defending your points, you abort the very process you set in motion by fleeing from the challenge in the form of scoffing or posting non sequiturs. It's as if you declare yourself the winner of each battle you start without actually earning a victory. You start the battles but you can't finish them. That's why you scoff. Scoffing is how you wave the white flag. "I can't defend myself from your criticism, so I'm going to scoff at you and pretend I've won the point. I'll repeat the process tomorrow. Bye for now."

In the world of internet messageboards, where mature people tacitly agree to debate their different positions rather than act like sh*t-disturbing trolls, you will continue to be reminded of your abysmal failure to measure up.

I repeat the unanswered accusations, for which ample evidence can be and has been produced:

You're a hypocrite who condemns others for hypocrisy.
You're a megalomaniac who condemns others for megalomania.
You're a savage at heart who condemns others for savagery.
You're a complete fraud without a shred of credibility.

          • Schlomotion

I don't share your view of process. For one thing, internet columnists, are to me still a new thing. The payer for this site is not an internet columnist. He is a real estate gangster from Canada. He did not hire internet columnists. He hired a political activist and book publisher who wrote for actual magazines. Only this last rank has hired the internet columnist. These are mixed in with bloggers and with various slanderers and amateurs who bought domain names. In point of fact the entire operation is real life "sh*t-disturbing trolls," as you describe it, using pandered funds and false credentials to push for actual war and actual ethnic cleansing. I am working to stop war and ethnic cleansing. Having published a magazine myself, I can tell a real magazine from a fake one. Your accusations against me are a sidetrack of amusement. Fortunately, this kind of changing the world can be fun, and we can amuse ourselves without worry.

You want to say that because I am in a forum, I should use the forum according to your expectations of process. This would make sense if you in fact owned the forum. I think flak when used against a pro-war and pro-racism forum is a good idea. You have tried very hard today to appeal to different rationales and finally to Platonic compulsion. There must be a reason for it. I assume it's your own form of idealism pitted against mine. Yes. I heap scorn. I should heap scorn. Look at what these people are doing.

    • Kufar Dawg

Does your argument make more sense in Arabic? Or Urdu? Maybe it might play better in an editorial column written for a newspaper in Egypt, Iran or Turkey.

  • Shalom Freedman

Dempsey's remark is most disturbing. It is a knife in the back of an ally. The indifference of the world , the absence of outrage at Iran's calling for the destruction of Israel shows how morally bankrupt and even Evil so much of that world is. This would suggest that Israel is largely isolated and must be prepared to go it alone to defend itself. Yet this too is not completely clear as the alliance with and cooperation with the United States greatly increase the chances for Israel's enduring the worldwide political onslaught against it which would come in the wake of any military operation.

  • Chanameel

(Zech.14) "Even as individuals are called to moral account, the nations will also be judged. The nation of Israel will be vindicated, and its suffering at the hands of other nations redressed. The righteous among the nations will be accounted to Israel, and will ascend G-d's sacred mountain to form the messianic kingdom of G-d."

The longer Israel waits, the stronger the Islamofascists get.

The Islamofascists have wet dreams about destroying Israel. Their imams/sheiks/ayatrollahs tell 'em so.

The Islamofascist world is TARGET RICH.

    Mecca, Tehran, Qom.

If Israel were hit, would India trust Pakistan?

Decapitate the Islamist Regime of Iran and every other Arab entity will shiver in their sandals.

The ayatrollahs are threatening to close the Strait of Hormel? The US Navy can dredge it clear in a few weeks.

Plus the Persian people hate the Islamist ayatrollahs. They'll be stringing up the Ayatrollahs like the French did in Liberated Paris and the Italians did in Free Italy.

Something is going to happen. Soon.

Wee, you small little man, Your muslim is peeking out again.

And it's as ugly as always.

Hey, Hijacking passenger planes and flying them into buildings isn’t “resistance”.

    It’s terrorism.

And the US, UK, Commies bombing the crap out of national Socialist Germany wasn’t terrorism. It was a unified response to world-wide aggression.
