Terror from Tehran

Terror struck—or attempted to strike—Israel in two foreign locations on Monday.

In New Delhi, a passing motorcyclist apparently slapped a bomb onto the car of an Israeli diplomat. He wasn’t inside, but his wife was, and she and the driver were injured—neither of them gravely. The Washington Post said the attack “bore eerie similarities” to the January 11 assassination in Tehran of Iranian nuclear scientist Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan, which Iran blamed on Israel.

At about the same time, in Tbilisi, Georgia, a local staffer at the Israeli embassy realized something was stuck to the bottom of his car as he was driving it. He pulled over and, seeing it was a bomb fastened with duct tape, called the police who safely dismantled it.

The incidents were not surprising and came at a time when Israeli delegations throughout the world were on high alert. In addition to blaming Israel for the Ahmadi-Roshan and other nuclear-scientist killings, Iran and its Lebanese proxy Hizbullah charge Israel with the assassination of Hizbullah terror-master Imad Moughniyeh. He was killed in Damascus on February 12, 2008—for which Monday was almost exactly the fourth anniversary.

Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu immediately said Tehran was responsible for Monday’s events and called it “the greatest exporter of terror in the world.” He pointed to other recent incidents—the arrest on terror suspicions of a Hizbullah man in Bangkok after a tip-off from Israel, and the thwarting of an Iranian plot in Azerbaijan to assassinate the Israeli ambassador there.

Iran, for its part, again surprised no one by calling Netanyahu’s charges regarding New Delhi and Tbilisi “sheer lies.”

In actuality, the recent rash of incidents shows that neither Israeli nor American saber-rattling toward Tehran, the frequent talk of “options on the table,” is yet to achieve deterrence. Tehran’s brazenness reached a new peak with a plot, uncovered in October, to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the U.S. It was planned for a Washington restaurant and could have caused multiple casualties. The U.S. is yet to carry out any known retaliation.

Iran has a large intelligence and spy network (embassy staff, ”businessmen, students”, and Imams) in Georgia and Armenia for destabilizing Azerbaijan and plotting against Israeli and American embassies and diplomats in these countries. What is amazing is that Armenia, willfully, has made an unholy alliance with Iran and threatening Azerbaijan's stability. Armenia supports Iran as do North Korea, China, Russia, Cuba and Venezuela. I hope that friends of Armenia take action and warn its politicians for their unethical alliance with mad mullahs; otherwise they will lose sympathy that they deserve. Islamist Iran is as dangerous as Islamist Turkey for Armenia. They come first for the Jews and they will come after the Christians later. I totally condemn the Armenian genocide by Turkey and condemn the autocratic regime of Ilham Aliyev in Azerbaijan. My aim is to save Armenia from the mess created by its politicians.

third world war coming right at us all.

  • crackerjack

When Israel kills it's "covert war", "target killing" or at best "assassination". What Iran does likewise it is "terror" ?

    • Dr. John

Yes, those killed in Israel's assassinations are terrorists and, possibly, scientists enabling a fanatic regime to have weapons that can kill millions of people. Much of Iran's terror is aimed indiscriminately at civilians. Can you see the difference, Crackerjack?

      • aspacia

        Dr. John,

No he can't. Cracked is totally brainwashed with liberal lies and distortions.

      • crackerjack

"….possibly…"?? So the mere possibility of not dancing to Zionisms tune warrents worldwide liquidation? And , of cours, all of this is decided in some backroom by someone outside the rule of law and carrying no legal responsibility for the killings.

What better definition of political terror can there be? But what should we expect from a coutry founded on the terror of the Irgun and once led by arch terrorist and King David Bombing mass murderer Begin ?

        • mrbean

Crackerjack. Hmmmm,,,, reminds of burned sugar on stale popcorn with old hard peanuts and a really cheap useless prize. Ahhhh yes you are worthless was what I was thinking!

        • Choi

CALLING FOR THE EXTERMINATION OF A NATION AND IT'S PEOPLE IS POLITICAL and PSYCHOLOGICAL TERRORISM.
YOU, "cracker jack(off) are a CYBER-POLITICAL TERRORIST troll.

        • Fred Dawes

stop it!!! the world is about to end its not the jews its the world bankers who want us dead. but the muslims and the jews and the other jews!!! will help for God.

          Third world war coming.

    • Choi

Iran is a country of and LED-BY GENOCIDAL MANIACS.
There is NO DOUBT the world is a SAFER place minus Iranian Nuclear scientists.
Nations that CALL FOR other nations' EXTERMINATION deserve ANY & ALL actions to STOP THEM.
IRAN STARTED THIS WAR and have no doubt learned the FACT that Israel is NOT DEFENSELESS as were the European Jews MASSACRED by the Nazis and their helpers.

    • Fred Dawes

Yes the CIA And the Mossad do killing for the world bankers to someday kill 90 percent of the worlds people the muslims do it for God what don't you understand about killing?

      • stern

YOu may not have noticed, but the language here is English.

    • Mike

Yes terror. Crakerjack is it? More like dumb ass!

  • Dr. John

Crackerjack, what is sad is that if you keep on like this, you'll never understand the phenomenon of Israel–which is an interesting and inspiring phenomenon. You'll miss out on it for good. Having it as a receptacle for whatever hate and misery you harbor is unfortunate; perhaps you should look inside and try to understand what makes you hate, instead of blindly directing it outside. And hating the Jews–it's not too original, is it? Is this the best you can come up with?

    • crackerjack

And what exactly is "inspiring" about Israel? The millions of refugees it created, or the millions living under its occupation? Its uncontrolled nuclear stockpile or its worlwide political murders? Its radical nationalistc goverment, ethnic apardheid laws or its upcoming religious talibanised majority? Zionism and its unlucky creation is heading towards compleat and utter faliure and soon won't be in need of any outside help on the way there

      • Dr. John

Yes, like I was saying. If you were smart, Crackerjack, you'd try to cure yourself of the illness.

        • stern

Dr. John, this one is beyond all help, medical or otherwise. But thanks for trying.

        • crackerjack

Come on Dr. you can do better than that.
What exactly is "inspiring" about Israel? Enlighte and heal me!

          • Dr. John

Crackerjack, it's obvious that in asking the question, you're already all set to pounce on the answer, whatever it is. "Listening to others" might be a better approach to life for you. It would make you more humble, more wise, certainly more well-rounded. But first you would have to get over the inner barrier of hate. Hate not only harms others–which is its ostensible aim–but also counteracts one's own growth.

          • crackerjack

Would that include hateing Muslims, Persia, Arabs, Liberals, Leftists, Obama, JStreet, Carter, the EU, the UN………etc?

          • Dr. John

If you're talking about me, I don't hate a single one of them except perhaps J Street. Your talkbacks really do express hate.

          • crackerjack

So supporting the murder of scientists is not hate? And isn't hate towards JStreet the old anti-Semitism notion of "Good Jew" and "Bad Jew"?

  • StephenD

Cracked wants everyone to play by the rules; because we all share in holding "fair play" as a value? We all have a sense of justice, honesty, and care for fellow humans right? Cracked, until you realize the only way to deal with thugs is with brute force you will last only as long as it takes for them to get to you. You can make excuses, attempts at another approach, all in an effort to be eaten last. But the alligator doesn't stop…unless you stop him, he will eat you too.

  • mrbean

Muslims have chosen the rules of the game. Jews should let them know in no uncertain terms what "Never Again" means. The Muslim jihadists are motivated by the core principles of Islam with the goal of converting, killing, or subjugating all non-Muslims. Unfortunately, too many non-Muslims have reverted to a pre-9/11 mentality and do not see the necessity of an offensive war with the Jihadists, or of a defensive war at home. All of us as non-Muslims are going to have to decide to fight for our cultures, freedoms, and values or we are going to lose them. It is our killer instincts which must be harnessed if we expect to survive in a war with the Jihadists. Our weapons are only tools. It is a hard heart that kills. If our killer instincts are not clean and strong we will hesitate at the moment of truth. We will not kill. We will become dead Americans and dead Jews.

    • Choi

In line with what you're saying, two statements from 2 OLDER Hollywood movies sum it up"
1)From "The Siege" (Denzel Washington and Annette Benning),the CIA Agent character played by Benning says that in the War against Jihadis,"The MOST COMMITTED WIN".
2)In the 3rd "Dirty Dozen "movie,a Jewish -American Commando makes the statement:
that he would like to give EVERY Jew a Machine Gun with the instruction:"Hold onto this,You're going to NEED THIS"

      • Fred Dawes

We may need many weapons inside the FORMER USA It maybe our so called government doing the mass terror attack on us.

    • Fred Dawes

watch out the government is behind many of our enemies and would love to see us all dead, after all our government has called its own people lowlife. but many may just jump behind that Rat Obama if we can start a war.

  • BS77

Iran behind terror attacks? Tell me it ain't so!!! Gosh, how could such a warm and wonderful regime resort to such things?

  • Fred Dawes

But is iran behind this rerror attack? we will never know? the boys in the CIA OR many others arms OF The CIA may have murdered people once more to make it look like the monkeys in Iran but murder is the name of the game no matter who is doing the killing it is total evil.

    • RoguePatriot6

So, let's see, the more exceptable choice would be to let Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan or any predominately Muslim country totally wipe out a nation of people who, from what I've seen, read and watched, only want to recognized as a Jewish state and be left alone (doesn't seem unreasonable, the world recognizes Islamic states).
You know, it's funny how a problem that many want to deem as "not my problem" becomes everybody's problem. Ever read about WWII?

  • Ghostwriter

Unfortunately, people like Crackerjack are idiots. They don't care what happens to Israel. They don't care if the Israelis die. They just want to blame Israel for the Middle East's problems but don't want to consider that many of those problems are self-inflicted by many Middle East leaders.

    • fightwarnotwars

And clearly you don't care if Americans die, and that what will happen if we invade yet another foreign country that is no direct threat to us. Crackerjack's logic is pretty solid, if we (the U.S.)and Israel practice targeted assassinations abroad, we can't condemn others for doing the same, it's called hypocrisy. If we invade/attack another country we should not be surprised if the retaliate, it's their right as a sovereign nation.

    • Ghostwriter

But what Iran is doing could threaten the world. Don't forget the people who rule Iran are Muslim fanatics who want to destroy every other religion on Earth. Are we supposed to let them have an atom bomb so they can wipe everyone else out who doesn't agree with them? What would you do to stop them?

  • RoguePatriot6

I try to be objective to a point. I've reached that point so forgive me if I seem a little biased. Even if I wasn't a Christian it would be very difficult at best to view Jews as the oppressors in this issue of Israel's right to exist or protect themselves. So, I'm going to just say it.
You either have to be blind, deaf, an idiot or all three, to honestly believe that Israel is the antagonist in this situation or any involving Islamist and Jews. REALLY? You know, I'm wondering just how many times obvious FACTS, not proganda, but facts have to blatantly slap us in the face for us to realize Islamists are not just an enemy of the Jews but an enemy to us and the rest of humanity?
"We will destroy the infidel…"-among many of the warm quotes from the religion of peace.
"The infidel west…, dogs, apostates, Jihad is a legitimate pillar of Islam, We will destroy western civilization in order for Islam to reign supreme by the will of Allah….etc. (cont'd)

  • fightwarnotwars

How convenient… that this happens right after China refuses to vote in favor of sanctions against Iran.

I expect all of those who post here craving for war on Iran, will be the first to volunteer to go fight said war instead of placing that responsibility on young Americans who could instead spend their time finishing high school, going to college, learning a trade, starting a family, etc.

    • Choi

There are fools ,there are Fools, there are FOOLS,and than THERE ARE DAMNED .FOOLS.

A LEFTY such as you is a prime example of the last.
IRAN HAS BEEN AT WAR WITH THE UNITED STATES SINCE 1979.
Does an idiot LEFTY like you even realize what they have PLANNED for the SELF-HATING AMERICAN QUISLINGS such as yourself?

  • RoguePatriot6

Let's not forget the intelligent comparision of Jews and apes by Islamists and some bigots here in the U.S., the countless terror attacks claiming countless thousands of lives througout the years as we continue to be complacent and appeasing to this ideology, even after 9-11, numerous quotes in the Koran and the Hadith that teach hatred of anyone not submitting to Islam, the teaching of this hatred to every child old enough to hate, read or whichever comes first under Shari'a, taught in schools….etc, the list goes on and on and on and on and on.
Yet, in our country, we still have liberal oxegen thieves who choose to wallow in this propaganda sewage of "they are trying to take over our markets and banks….They are conspirators in Jewish conquest of the world, SERIOUSLY!!!??. You know, even if there was any truth to it, I would sooner trust Jews than people who, every hour of the day, 24/7/365, are expressing their hatred towards us or threatening to destroy us by any and all means possible. (cont'd)

  • RoguePatriot6

I just don't get it, how, in the furthest reaches of reality, do you come to the conclusion that Israel is guilty of any of this while Islamists are blatantly exterminating Jews, Christians, Hindus…etc, in countries prodomanitly Islamic and any other that offers oppurtunity to do so and on top of this, proudly proclaim responsibility for the attrocities and their will to committ future acts? How, does a SLIGHTLY SANE person even think for a second that Israel has imperialist ambitions when it's scarcely the size of Rhode Island amidst the entire Arab region? How do people still come up with the this anti-Jewish BS of "they are trying to take over" while the Islamists really are? (and I must say, thanks to the liberal-left and all the rest who truly hate this country and the Christian values that have been it's foundation, they've done a pretty darn good job)

So I ask, again, What part of "WE WILL DESTROY THE WEST THROUGH JIHAD DO WE NOT UNDERSTAND?"

  • drtruth

Israel must strike first. Israel must strike decisively and on multiple fronts. Israel must strike in such a way that Iran, Hezbollah and hamas will not be able to retaliate. It must be sustained and complete. It must be not be concerned with incidental casualties. This is a serious war with no room for error. A knockout punch must be aceived on the first strike with followup after followup until they submit or are destroyed (I mean the regime and military targets and threats). Iran and Hezbollah have chosen this path. Israel should choose its own path.

I know you’re salivating at the prospect of killing a few million swarthy foreigners; sorry, but the rest of us aren’t so eager to sacrifice our lives and wallets so you all can live out your Rambo fantasies.

You Zionist-neocon pigs loves to dish it out, but you can't take it, huh? Not weeks after the Mossad took out an Iranian scientist (an unambiguous act of terrorism), now Iranian forces launch attacks on Israeli targets worldwide (also terrorism). It's tit-for-tat, nothing more, nothing less (started by Israel, by the way). Your hypocrisy is astounding but so sadly predictable.

    • stern

No, it's not tit-for-tat at all.

On one side, we see the targeting of military personnel, or scientific personnel working on military weapons that could utterly destroy Israel. ON the other side, we see the very deliberate targeting of civilians: a woman going to pick up her kids from school, a civilian embassy employee.

Of course, it goes without saying that you cannot see the difference.

    • UCSPanther

Better check under your bed for mossad agents before you go to sleep tonight. Those guys tend to be everywhere…
