6,000 Jobs Already Lost After Obama’s Election

Welcome to the first days of the Obama Depression.

Elections have consequences. Electing a man who views the American economy as a vampire whose heart he is compelled to drive a stake through has consequences.

The Blaze lists some of the closures and staff cuts that have taken place in just a few days since the Welfare Election of 2012. Also known as “I Vote for Obama Cause Obama Give Me Free Stuff.”

Boeing Co. said Wednesday it plans to employ 30% fewer executives at its Boeing Defense, Space & Security unit by the end of 2012 compared to 2010 levels.

Energizer. The St. Louis-based company said Thursday that it expects to shed about 1,500 employees. When finished, the restructuring should lead to $200 million in pretax yearly savings

Research in Motion Ltd., the maker of BlackBerry smartphones, laid off about 200 people at its U.S. headquarters

Hawker Beechcraft. The company says 240 employees will lose their jobs with the closing of Hawker Beechcraft Services facilities in Little Rock, Ark.; Mesa, Ariz.; and San Antonio, Texas.

980 job cuts at U.S. Cellular, with 640 in the Chicago area, according to a spokeswoman

United Blood Services Gulf South region, the non-profit blood service provider for much of south Louisiana and Mississippi, will lay off approximately 10 percent of its workforce.

In its statement, UtahAmerican Energy blames the Obama administration for instituting policies that will close down “204 American coal-fired power plants by 2014″ and for drastically reducing the market for coal.

That’s only a partial list of course.

Obama’s coalition turned out to give us the Governments of Greece and France and that’s exactly what we’re going to have. The economy will be slashed and burned and companies will flee the country.

Free stuff. It’s damned expensive.

  • Vardit

I basically love what you have to say and agree, but here I really wonder how many of these companies are because of an Obama win? You usually publish just the facts but when I see RIM on your list, well, they were in bad trouble before Obamageddon.

    • Daniel Greenfield

A rising tide lifts boat. And a hurricane overturns them.

When there is no confidence in the economy, then companies in trouble go on sinking when they might have recovered if there were more investor and consumer confidence.

    • NAHALKIDES

It doesn't have to be Obama's re-election so much as the damage he's already done. Obama has been president for four years and his policies are demonstrably anti-business. When the economy continues to shed jobs like this, and with anemic growth in GDP, it's his fault – left alone, the economy would have recovered by now.

  • NomoreB

Good job! The worse is better now.

  • Tanstaafl jw

    Atlas Shrugged.

  • Mary Sue

If this isn't going to be fixed any time soon, I welcome any inevitably fleeing US Companies to Canada (and I'm sure the Conservative Harper Govt. would say the same).

Well, it's closer than running off to anywhere in Asia or Europe or something?

The Dow went down, wonder what else is going down and how soon. I heard Lucasfilm sold out to Disney because of Taxmaggedon.

    • amused

lol….Consevative harper Govt , didn't have th Tea party to suck up to …..besides that , Ive talked to enough Canadians down here over the past 30 years to know , it aint exactly paradise up there . And how come te Conservatives and Teabaggers down here point to CANADA all the time as an example of SOCIALIZED MEDICINE /HEATH CARE ???? Or weren't you aware of that ?

      • amused

….and WHY is it that Republicans and Conservatives have fought tooth and nail to prevent the organizational purchase of Canadian Pharmacueticals ??

        • Mary Sue

Because Canadian Pharmacueticals are under Price Controls. They undercut the US manufacturers, causing the prices of US drugs to rise accordingly.

I bet you weren't even aware that your high US drug prices are actually subsidizing MY low drug costs.

      • PaulRevereNow

Because now that the Obamacare that you love(and which the Tea Party opposes) is the law of the land; Canadian health care doesn't seem so bad. Besides, its better having a job than not, and Canada's employment situation is now a bit better than America's.

        • amused

I dont love it , I just despise Teabaggers more than Obamacare , and a good example why , Just scroll up an look what Mindy wrote . Beside you JUST SIDESTEPPED BOTH OF MY CLAIMS . Get your TeaParty rhetoric correct man .

          • Mary Sue

what exactly is wrong with "teabaggers"?

      • Mary Sue

The past 30 years, yeah, the Liberal government (and don't get me started on Mulroney's "Progressive Conservative" government, and Kim Campbell with her "order in council" gun restrictions and bans) was pretty bad. Only in recent years has any sense of sanity started to emerge in Canada as a whole. Granted you have your NDP enclaves like Manitoba and Sascratchmahbush, and Liberal/NDP enclaves like Atlantic Canada, and freaking Quebec which just elected another Separatist government.

Trust me I know all about the socialized medicine, dude, I've LIVED it. I've seen it. I also know it pales in comparison to the havoc Obamacare will wreak.

I don't know why Obama didn't just grab the Canada Health Act and plagiarize right off it.

If I had the power I'd send down Preston "I Love that word, REFOOOORM" Manning down there to fix the GOP.

Hey, but what about all the automotive jobs Obama saved in Ohio? / sarc off

    • amused

      ..and Wisconsin ? sarc on

  • Amused

Govts of Greece and France were NOT the creation of any 'coalition' in the US . They did however suffer from the Bubble that was created and burst here . LucasFilms did NOT in any way sell to Disney ,because of taxes , take Lucas' word for it , you heard WRONG Mary Sue . !000 jobs lost in Delray Beach Fl. first announced in AUGUST , BEFORE the election when all thought there would be a Romney win .,set for Jan 1 2013 . Customer service for several major cell phone companies and carriers for billing , technical assistance ,warranty info etc , will now be answered by India, Guatamala, and Honduras. Next time you need Garlic powder , buy the store brand you will get 2 ounces more and .74cents cheaper ,but keep in mind that when you and your famiy ingest it , it was made in China . Buy a toy for your kid in Walmart for $14.96 , and know that it was produced for 0.18 cents on the backs of workers who work 7days a week 14 hrs.a day and if they open their mouths they get fired . Yet Wallmart employees cost the taxpayers 1.5 biollion a year , because their insurance stinks ,as does their pay , Wallmart provides a list for Food Stamp Assistance and Medicaid , open your mouth in Wall mart -you're history .

    • Mary Sue

No, the Govts of Greece and France were the spawns of their own stupidity. They embraced the socialism so wholeheartedly that France reportedly was giving people government-purchased washers and dryers! The government largesse dispensed is unfathomable even in Canadian standards. And you wonder why they're broke? The bubble caused by Freddy Mack and Fanny Mae simply was the straw that broke the camel's back in Greece. They simply ran out of everybody else's money.

  • amused

Companies for the most part "run out of the country " NOT due to taxation but for profit .The Stock Market went down because of uncertainty regarding whether a Congress will work out a deal or play brinksmanship and the news from the EU /Greeks Riot , Stock market goes down .Please go to Bloomberg.Com to get your financial information , NOT FPM . The first round of SELLING is by those taking profits ,feeling the prices ARE at their maximun before circumstances in the EU and our Congress changes , the second round of selling is done by those who are nervous This is not wizardry it's standard information provided by Fidelity , Bloomberg , Morgan Stanley ,etc.

    • sandy

And Bollmberg Contributed to Obama campaign

      • amused

UH ….Sandy not Mayor Bloomberg but Bloomberg .com which is a highly rated financial website .

        • Daniel Greenfield

          Bloomberg is owned by Bloomberg.

          • amused

But the stock information ISN'T .The figures and Prices , indexes and charts are NOT made up or what "someone has heard .Anyone who's invested in the Market references Bloomberg . Some people here ought to try it , Bloomberg seperates reality from hyperbole , and when its your money that's rather important . Not to mention it gives credit rating assets and liabilities , growth graphs for virtually every company in the country . Bloomberg's politics do not have anything to do with information found on the website.

          • Mary Sue

yeah, just keep telling yourself that…

As did GE ……Since 2009, General Electric has closed more than 25 manufacturing plants in the United States and slashed thousands of jobs, according to the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America. GE now employs more workers overseas than it does in the United States. While GE has laid off at least 10,000 workers in the United States, it has created more than 30,000 jobs in India over the past decade.
In 2011 Barack Obama named General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt as the head. of the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, Immelt, is a member of the board of the New York Federal Reserve Bank.

Since the GM bailout they have built new factories in Uzbekistan ,Mexico and China.

According to U.S. Representative Betty Sutton, an average of 23 manufacturing facilities permanently shut down in the United States every single day during 2010.

Over 60,000 manufacturing plants in this country have shut down; over 7.5 million factory jobs have disappeared; and we now have fewer manufacturing jobs today than we did in May of 1941.

The i-pad, the i-phone, the i-pod, the blackberry, IBM computers, Dell Computers, the Microsoft X-Box, big screen tv's………………… none of these American inventions are made in the USA. And all of the company owners are liberal democrats.

researchers estimate that Apple's iPhone – added $1.9 billion to the U.S. trade deficit with China last year."

President Clinton claimed that the agreement to allow China into the WTO “created a win-win result for both countries.” Exports to China “now support hundreds of thousands of American jobs,” and these figures “can grow substantially with the new access to the Chinese market the WTO agreement creates,” he said

Over 1 million jobs have been lost to NAFTA, 3 million to China.

the U.S. trade deficit in clean energy products more than doubled between 2008 and 2010, displacing more than 80,000 U.S. jobs in 2010 alone.

Federal Reserve Board’s Survey of Consumer Finances – Between 2007 and 2010, Americans’ median net worth fell 38.8 %.

The cost of an average family health insurance premium went up 10.0% in 2011 — the highest rate in seven years and three times the rate of overall inflation. Kaiser Family Foundation

The 2012 Farm Bill is estimated to spend $770 billion, 80% of the total expenditures, on food stamp programs.

Since June 2009, immigrants posted a net gain of 756,000 jobs.
1.1 million illegal immigrants were granted legal residence in 2009.

Americans living below the official poverty line, 46.2 million people, was the highest number in the 52 years the bureau has been publishing figures on it.

And Barry boy has only just begun. He is solving this disaster by hiring more pedophile teachers and giving more free abortions .

Remember, due to Obamacare, starting Jan 1st we will be charged 1% tax on every bank transaction we make, deposits, checks, transfers, payments, etc. You put money in = 1%, you take that money out = 1% each transaction. Also Obamacare will be deduction premiums from our checking accounts whether we want it or not. You may wish to remove your money in advance and pay as much cash for stuff as possible.

      • Aaron

You really should research things before posting. This has been an urban legend for a few years now. All you cows really fall into line over this stuff. Do some thinking of your own and free yourself from letting others control your thoughts.

    • Mary Sue

well given that harshly excessive taxation usually cuts into profits and tends to make companies uncompetitive, what's your point?

  • JCS

    Happy Days are Here Again!
The sad thing is if the "official unemployment rate" had been 10% on election day it probably would have made no difference.

    • Mary Sue

The province I live in had as high as 11% unemployment during the disastrous 12 year reign of the New Democrat Party. Then they got turfed for the Provincial Liberals (who painted themselves as not-as-corrupt as the Federal Liberal Party…remains to be seen), and the economy bounced back, the Province stopped being a "Have-not" province and was actually contributing more to "Transfer payments" rather than being a primary recipient of them, and the unemployment rate went down significantly. And we don't measure unemployment in the bs manner of "oh let's exclude people that gave up looking for work" way.

  • amused

    You're right , it wouldn't .

  • amused

And you can thank the Tea Party for that , and all their baggage that Romney just couldn't seem to disassociate himself from .

    • Mindy

Remember, due to Obamacare, starting Jan 1st we will be charged 1% tax on every bank transaction we make, deposits, checks, transfers, payments, etc. You put money in = 1%, you take that money out = 1% each transaction. • amused

WHAT ? Where did you get that from ? You are typical of the paranoia intentionally generated by Tea Party LIES . . I guess the Moonwill fall into the pacific Ocean too huh ? Jan.1st ? I'll mark my calender .

    • Mary Sue

what did the Tea Party ever do to you?

    • To uneducated fools

Study shows that in the states requiring photo I.D., Romney Won. States that did not require photo I.D. Obama Won……Law suits were filed to prevent the I.D. requirement. Why? So the unions could gather the sheep and teach them how, where and who's name to use to vote 2, 3 and 4 times for Obama. So please educate yourself and do not blame the Tea Party for you are no different then Obama cheating America. God will hold you accountable for your actions for the blessings he has bestowed on the promise land.

    • Greg

@amused, Your ignorance, while appalling, is not a surprise. Your opinions are obviously drawn from the media rather than intelligent research. What is occurring in our lifetime is a historically verifiable event. It has collapsed every democracy in recorded history. Here is what people of your mental capacity are ushering in with their class warfare tedium:
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy.”

  • amused

LOL…thats right Mindy repeat it enough times and people will believe . I know you'd like to see an apocalyptic run on banks , and the end of the world ushered in , but that's the trouble with the Tea Party , or should I say ONLY part of their trouble . I would imagine many people here share your view , it seems they're all thinking it's DoomsDay .If anything , YOU watch your money if its in a non FDIC bank or in the wrong pkace in the Stock Market because the Tea Party boys couldn't be happier to see the country go over the edge . I've said this before the Right could not care less if the Ship of State sinks , as long as one of them is at the helm .. You got a fall out shelter in the woods or somethin ' ?

    • Mary Sue

Invest in a Canadian bank. We don't have as idiotic regulations/deregulations.
