7 Months to an Iranian Nuclear Warhead

That 7 months is also the timetable for Israel’s red line on Iran. That does not mean however that Israel will strike at the red line, but some time before or after it. (h/t Weasel Zippers)

A strike would have likely happened before the US election if it had not appeared that Romney would win. Now the strike is likeliest to happen before the red line and at a time when Obama is too distracted to do much about it. But at the same time when it is shown that Obama also has no intention of doing anything about Iran.

Iran has expanded its enrichment capacity and is enriching uranium at a pace that would bring it to what Israel has declared an unacceptable red line in just over seven months, according to a report by the UN nuclear watchdog.

It also comes soon after Israeli official stated that the red line drawn by Israel’s prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, during his UN appearance in September, represented 240kg of 20%-enriched uranium, enough to make a warhead if further enriched to weapons grade.

The sensitivity of 20% uranium figure is that it can be turned into weapons grade relatively fast and easily.

The last time the IAEA inspectors drew up a report, three months ago, Iran had made 189kg of 20% uranium but had used nearly 100kg for civilian purposes, leaving an outstanding 96kg.

We still have idiots that claim that it's all just for civilian (nuclear reactor) usage.

Heck, in the paper a few daus ago a local idiot made a "rememberance day" (Veteran's day) column about remembering the vets while working to 'end war forever'. The guy's an incredibly naive leftist environut that has no idea how human nature works. I'm pretty sure he's the kind of idiot that wouldn't know what to do about a nuclear Iran and thus would do nothing. Guy wouldn't know how to end war forever if it bit him on the nose.
