"Are these really broken families? Or are they families that never formed in the first place? "

Most of the time there is no distinction unless you want to separate divorce rates from those who never married.

What makes you think the distinction is important to the topic?

"the fertility patterns of this matriarchy is driven by nearby extended family"

What are you talking about?

"not distant liberals"

Liberals provide short-term incentives, encouragement and propaganda. Arguably they created the root causes of these dramatic statistical changes. You're not paying enough attention.

technically they qualify as "broken" by statistics and similarity to broken homes as the effects are similar or pretty much identical, however they are not true "broken" homes in that sense.

I don't have any statistics available, but it is more likely to be that these females become pregnant because of peer pressure / having sex is "cool", and they are TOTALLY unaware of the consequences.
They do not receive the guidance / education to avoid the sex and possible pregnancy prior to being able to: a) ensure that the father takes responsibility for BEING A FATHER; b) that they are able / willing to take FULL responsibility because it's almost guaranteed that the Father WON'T.

Are these really broken families? Or are they families that never formed in the first place? The problem isn't nearly so much "upscale liberals" as it is the common desire of lower-class black and Hispanic females to want a baby (or two) at a very young age.

I aggressively oppose the welfare state as enabling mechanism for these decisions, but in the end, the fertility patterns of this matriarchy is driven by nearby extended family, not distant liberals.
