Democrats Undemocratically Bring Back God and Jerusalem

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

There’s nothing like trying to reinsert language about God and Jerusalem that you removed and then tried to put back to fix your broken image, only to be booed by your own delegates who clearly aren’t fans of either God or Jerusalem… to show the country what you really stand for.

The floor of the Democratic National Convention erupted Wednesday over a sudden move to restore to the platform a reference to “God” and recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital — after heavy criticism from Republicans for initially omitting them.

Democrats, though, were hardly in agreement over the reversal.

A large and loud group of delegates shouted “no” as convention chairman, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, called for the vote late Wednesday afternoon. Villaraigosa had to call for the vote three times before ruling that the “ayes” had it. Many in the crowd booed after he determined the language would be restored.

The entire mess tells us a few things. The Democratic Party is radicalized and desperate. Its delegates are drastically out of tune with the country and even their own party. The reinsertion attempted to cover up the radicalization of the Democrats but instead revealed just how bad it had gotten.

    Dead on! Thank you.

After the election, Obama will have more "flexibility" about G-d and Jerusalem.

The best thing for the Democrat party is to get their fannies kicked in November and for Romney to win. This would give them an opportunity to reorganize and restart the DLC with a more moderate and pragmatic group. That would also force the Republicans to moderate somewhat. The end result would be a conservative "American" government, and force the extreme elements to collect in sort of a trash party with communists, near communists, radical eco-freaks, and LBGT zoo types. Bottom line, the Democrats will have to clean house if they want to regain power.

Sounds like your almost suggesting a one-party system. I think that would be very dangerous. We need more than two parties not less. If we had more parties this year, Ron Paul wouldn’t have had to run as a Republican and would have destroyed the other candidates based on the issues. Instead, he had his delegates stolen by the RNC and barely got any floor time at the debates. People, if your tired of this same old back-n-forth politics, join the Constitution party that is all about following the Constitution. Make it a strong party that can compete with the other two and get this country back on it’s feet again!

Did you hear the overwhelming affirmative response from the floor – in favor of re-instating God and Jerusalem?

    Neither did I.

And yet the chair had the audacity to declare an obvious two-thirds being in favor. How pathetic an attempt to white-wash the obvious schizophrenia on this topic from the rank & file assembled at this convention of hypocrites.

When the chair declared the two-thirds majority – I suddenly felt the urge to sneeze like Belushi in Animal House ("ah…ahh…BL**JOB!!".

Boy – I must be coming down with SOMETHIN !!

    Probably just DNC fever.

Listen to this, the Tele-prompter said:, "Approved by 2/3rds, BEFORE THE VOTE WAS TAKEN"
They have lied from the beginning. Remember this when you vote. Save America!

Funny it sure sounded to me like it was 2/3 Nay and 1/3 Yay. Oh well, guess the Dems were never too good with math. After all what's a mere $16 trillion of debt.

Demoncrats blow around like loose paper in the wind. Either way the paper flies, it is still rubbish in the wind.

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

It shows how disgusting the Democratic party is. They're nothing but a bunch of Godless anti Semites, the battle lines are being drawn. Just wait for their 2016 platform where they will call for the establishment of an American soviet.

Not only is anti-isreal on the left but its growing on the right with libertarians and paleo-cons.

I saw the arab up in arms in the crowd booing God. I thought our God was the same God, if so why did the Arabs boo GOD? Because they are liars and know that our Savior is not the same God and the jewish God is not the same God as Islam. Clear as the arabs booing. Arabs want Sharia Law that is who Obama has on his side. He had the convention accept the God of the jews/christians else he would have to tell the truth would he not? You bet! When I see Americans on Obama's side I think that how fooled they are not to know what Obama is all about but they will when Obama allows Sharia Law and they come to these peoples homes to demand them to bow before Islamic god. How stupid can people be not to know by now what Obama is up to with his Muslim friends who hate us and want us destroyed. I don't care what the responses are, believe what u want but I refuse this "Person" of Obama and his lies.
