EXCLUSIVE: David Foster, Fake Bain Employee, Real Union Boss and Millionaire

This is the speech that David Foster got up and delivered.
I’m David Foster, and I was a steelworker for 31 years. For 15 years, I laid brick and tapped the furnaces, and did all that hard, dirty work that turned molten metal into the cars and bridges and buildings that make America what it is today.
This is who David Foster really is.
He graduated from Reed College in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and is an adjunct faculty member of the University of Minnesota. He is the Executive Director of the Blue-Green Alliance, an environmental union group. He was also on the board of Evraz, a Russian steel company. He is currently on the board of directors of Kaiser Aluminum.
According to his own bio,
From 1989-2006, Foster served as Director of United Steelworkers District 11, a 13-state region spanning from Minnesota to Washington State and Alaska. The district’s diverse membership of 43,000 includes iron ore and other mineral miners, steel, aluminum, tire, oil and gas workers, and health-care employees. From 1990-2006, he served on USW’s International Executive Board governing union affairs in the U.S. and Canada. His responsibilities included negotiating with many of the country’s largest steel, iron ore and aluminum companies.
According to Foster’s speech, he was laying brick and tapping furnaces in between directing a 13-state-region union in 1993 when Bain came in.
They fired 750 steelworkers while they pocketed $12 million in profit. A steelworker at GST Steel would have had to work 240 years to make $12 million.
This is what happens when you let Debbie Wasserman-Schultz put together your convention.
David Foster was supposedly one of those former employees on the convention schedule. He told the story about 750 steelworkers who lost their jobs when the Bain-controlled company GST steel filed for bankruptcy in the early 1990s.
“In 2001, with GST bankrupt and Romney still CEO of Bain, I stood in front of hundreds of steelworkers in their 50s and 60s, and retirees in their 70s and 80s, and told them Romney and Bain had broken their promises. Jobs, vacation pay, severance, health insurance and pension benefits that were promised — they were all gone,” he said.
But Foster, according to a former spokesman for GST Steel, never actually worked for the company. “David Foster was never an employee of GST Steel’s Kansas City plant. He was employed by the United Steelworkers of America as their regional union director to represent GST Steel, but was not employed at our facility,” according to BC Huselton, who was head of HR at GST.
Also Romney wasn’t actually running the company at that point even though his name was still on the paperwork. That’s why the union organizer that the Democrats tried to pass off as an unemployed steelworker says, “with GST bankrupt and Romney still CEO of Bain”. That’s legalistic wording. It’s not how a steelworker talks. It’s how a lawyer speaks.
David Foster isn’t a lawyer, but he’s a lot closer to them than to steelworkers. Like Obama, he’s a community organizer made good. Like Michael Moore, he’s a fake member of the working class giving the left some of that fake working class credibility.
