I was in the supermarket the other day; and there was a woman in her late 20's attempting to check out, holding up the line. The problem had something to do with her using food stamps; she couldn't decide whether she wanted six dollars back, or not. After waiting several minutes, I switched to self-check out, and left the store about the same time she did. She didn't look hungry or tired in any way; she wore nice clothes, and she put her groceries into a late model Volkswagen Jetta. Granted, I don't know the details of her situation; but from a quick inspection, she didn't need to be on food stamps. But this is the kind of abuse food stamps create.
