Has Obama Really Stood on the “Side of Democracy” or on the “Side of Islamists”?

During the debate, Obama defended his Arab Spring interventions against US allies and in favor of Islamist regimes by claiming that he stood on the side of democracy? But does he really?
Today, Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and the man in control of the Al Jazeera terrorist propaganda network paid a visit to Hamas , entering Gaza through Egypt, to avoid soiling himself by setting foot in the Zionist Entity.
Last year Obama said that his talks with the Emir centered on the peace process, “We discussed our mutual interest in seeing a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Emir provided me insights into how he sees reform evolving throughout the region.” One wonders what those insights were when shared with a Hamas supporter.
Qatar has bankrolled the Islamist takeovers, funneling a fortune to Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood rulers and using Al Jazeera to undermine non-Islamist governments. He’s sinking money into Hamas terrorists, just as he’s done for their counterparts in Egypt and across North Africa.
Qatari special forces helped train Islamist militias in Libya and are training them in Syria. The New York Times recently revealed that the Obama Administration allowed Qatar, along with Turkish and Saudi Islamist governments to dictate which Syrian factions would get the weapons. Unsurprisingly the Jihadists got the majority of those weapons.
During the Emir’s visit to the White House, Obama said of him,”I expressed to him my appreciation of the leadership that the Emir has shown when it comes to democracy in the Middle East… Qatar has done very well under His Highness’s leadership, but his influence extends beyond his borders. And so we’ve had discussions about how we can continue to promote democracy, human rights, increased freedom and reform throughout the Middle East.”
But Obama was well aware of Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani’s commitment to democracy, telling donors at one point , that, “He is a big booster, big promoter of democracy all throughout the Middle East. Reform, reform, reform — you’re seeing it on Al Jazeera. Now, he himself is not reforming significantly. There’s no big move towards democracy in Qatar.”
Sheikh Hamas is not a supporter of democracy, but of Islamism. And considering Obama’s endorsement of the Emir’s program, one wonders whether Obama is really committed to promoting democracy… or to promoting Islamism.
