Head of Obama Jobs Council: “Communism Works” (VIDEO)

I’m curious how he came to that conclusion after four years of living in the People’s Republic of Obamastan.

Jeffrey Immelt, GE CEO and one of Obama’s Crony Capitalists, and Chair of The President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness (don’t laugh) had this insight to offer while chatting chummily with Charlie Rose. “Really, the one thing that actually works, you know, state run communism may not be your cup of tea but their government works.”

It certainly works for the people on top. Probably not so much for the millions of peasants kicked off their land. But what Immelt is forgetting that the Chinese Communist system only started becoming viable when it junked the Communist part and became a conventional oligarchy. And when America started becoming Communist and destroyed its own manufacturing making it possible for China’s Communist Party feudal lords to cash in by dumping cheap badly manufactured products on an America where you could no longer run a factory without the EcoFascist EPA breaking down your door with their stormtroopers, the way it happened to Gibson Guitars.

China is becoming a Communist run Capitalist system while America is becoming a Capitalist run Communist system under toads like Immelt.

I boycott GE just like I boycott hollyweird. I used to have Progressive insurance until I learned that Peter Lewis, head of Progressive, was a commie and financier of the commiecraps.

    • Mary Sue

I wondered why it was called "Progressive!"

I'm a Conservative and a life-long proponent of democracy and the rule of law. But I find myself at a point in time where I don't think we in the West can credibly lecture authoritarian governments on the virtues of Democracy. Look what Democracy has brought both America and the Europeans to….the entitlement state and staggering, systemic debt. It's looking more and more like a sociological dead-end.

    • Mary Sue

That's why you lecture them on Representative Republics (or at the very least Constitutional Monarchies), which are better than flat out Democracy.

      • Viet Vet

Mary Sue is correct. The Founders had disdain for democracy, that's why they created our unique republican form of government. And since they looked at government a necessary evil, they greatly limited its power. We are a representative republic, or constitutional republic. With the major power invested in the states or the people, a concept known as Federalism. And the cornerstone upon which our unique system of government is built is self-determination/self-government.

This is what passes for sophistication in elite circles today. Were it not so horribly immoral and idiotic, it would be funny. Immelt should move to a poor Chinese village that exists on subsistence farming. He would not be allowed to travel to a major city and would live in an oppressive and repressive poverty that would shut him up something quick. Hundreds of millions of Chinese live thusly. What a deranged creep Immelt is.

Communism works? Where? In Red China? The economy in Red China works only because they have adopted some free-market (i.e., non-Communist) economics and practices, although they HAVE retained the familiar communistic slave labor force.

Of course, Margaret Thatcher DID say, correctly, that socialism and communism work as long as there are productive people producing wealth that the government can expropriate.

For that person to say Communism works is a profoundly ignorant remark. Why am I not surprised to hear such claptrap coming from the Obama administration?

  • Mary Sue

I guess that depends on what your definition of "works" is…

The peasants work and elites cash in. He seems to love the model. What a psycho, leading GE?!

I left FPM for a couple of years because trying to post was an effort in frustration, and it sure hasn't changed.

It is scary to think that Daniel Greenfield is a fellow and an author when he doesn’t understand the simpliest of concepts. e.g. in this article he states that the government of China no longer follows communist doctrine, and then he ends the article by saying “China is becoming a coummunist run caapitaist society”. If you no longer follow the doctrines of communism, how are you still a communist? Because you say so, that is illogical!
