Last Mumbai Terrorist’s Last Words: “I swear by Allah, I Won’t Do Such a Thing Again”

But fortunately India’s judicial system is far less liberal than our own and it helped Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, the last surviving Mumbai Massacre terrorist keep his word, with the aid of a good strong rope around his neck.
“I swear by Allah, won’t do such a thing again” (Allah kasam dubara aisi galti nahi karunga), were the last words uttered by Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, the only surviving terrorist, proved guilty in 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. Kasab was hanged till death and buried immediately inside Yerwada jail on Wednesday morning.
Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab bragged about his killings when he had a gun, but turned into a coward when he was captured by the police.
Kasab was under instruction to keep killing until he died. The terrorist gang, thought to number as few as 10 gunmen, had planned to kill 5000 people. Kasab told police he was trained to “kill to the last breath”.
Except that Kasab wimped out pretty quickly.
The sole surviving terror suspect in the Mumbai massacre cowardly begged to live as he lay in police custody suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a published report.
“I don’t want to die. Put me on saline,” gunman Azam Amir Kasab pleaded in a hospital after seeing the mutilated corpse of another terrorist being wheeled to the morgue, according to Britain’s Sunday Mirror.
But Kasab was apparently not very reassured by the promise that Allah had his brothel of 72 virgin demons waiting for him. He handwrote a mercy petition to the President that was rejected. And this time there was no saline for him. Just a rope.
India has been far more direct and ruthless in dealing with the perpetrators of the Mumbai Massacre than we would be in their place.
A senior National Security Guard officer, who had earlier explained the operation in detail said the commandos went all out after they ascertained that there were no more hostages left. When asked if the commandos attempted to capture them alive at that stage, he replied: “Unko bachana kaun chahega (Who will want to save them)?”
American Special Forces and SWAT teams might feel and act the same way, and did in killing Bin Laden rather than taking him alive and giving him a civilian trial as Obama wanted to do, but they would know better than to say it in public lest all the buzzards of the left descend on them. Even before Obama, an American police or military officer would not be very likely to say to a reporter.
Bollywood also appears to be far more patriotic than Hollywood when it came to hanging Kasab.
“Kasab’s execution is a victory not only for the Mumbaiker who suffered at the hands of terror, but the entire nation. I applaud the Govt and especially Sushil Kumar Shindeji and home ministry for such a controlled execution of Kasab,” tweeted filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar.
Ram Gopal Varma, who is making a film on the 26/11 terror attacks, said, “Here’s wishing that finally his victims’ souls will rest in peace RIP and Kasab’s soul will roast in hell. Most Indians would have preferred to have seen Kasab being lynched and tortured to death instead of being just hung. If I were to be the hang man I would have shown the pictures of all his victims to Kasab before hanging him.”
Can you imagine a patriotic Hollywood where similar expressions by actors and filmmakers toward Muslim terrorists were normal?
