Congressman Mike Honda is one of those pols the rest of the country has never heard of, but is wildly popular among the nutroots. To be popular among stupid leftists, Honda has to constantly push new frontiers in stupid leftism. Supporting terrorists is part of that, and apparently now so is calling for a transit boycott over Pro-Israel and Anti-Terrorist ads.
What makes Honda’s boycott call so remarkable is that he admits his proposal makes no sense at all… but he’s making it anyway.
Representative Mike Honda, a Democrat from California, said he supported the US Constitution’s guarantee of free speech and understood the court order for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority to run the advertisements. But “the right to not support hate speech is also a right, which is why I encourage people to boycott, if possible, WMATA” and public transit in the other places where the ad is running until the ad buys are finished, Honda said in a statement.
Honda, a California Congressman, is proposing a boycott of a transit system not in his state for running ads that the system opposed running and that it only ran because of a court order.
That makes as much sense as voting against Honda because my 2003 Accord keeps breaking down. Boycotts are supposed to accomplish something. Boycotting the WMATA over something they have no control over is senseless. And what exactly is Honda’s alternative proposal to mass transit? Driving?
This is a shameless publicity stunt by Honda that shows once again what a complete pandering phony the man is. And just to remind us of that again, we get another lecture from Honda about Japanese internment camps. Japanese internment camps appear to have been the entire basis of Honda’s career. If he hadn’t been in one, then he probably wouldn’t be in Congress.
